It’s literally a fact that Holloway picked up more points in his last 6 than Hurst has in his first 6. We can say all we like about him having a shit squad to work with but it was the same one Holloway had (granted only one of them was to blame for that). It’s not even like we had the new manager spring with Hurst. You also say about us scraping a 1-0 against Scunny, a few weeks later Hurst took us there and served up something far far worse.Of course its been poor we haven't won a game, however until the Newport game the majority of the side was still Holloways rubbish (only 4 Hurst players started against Stevenage). But to say he's taken less points than Holloway is stupid, he's used his rubbish players for every game but one, and in Holloways last 6 games he only managed to beat a poor Scunny side 1-0 in a dour game where one goal from either side was going to win it.
Yes we should be beating 10 men and yes we shouldn't concede such poor goals, however any side that puts 10 behind the ball is difficult to break down, many teams have struggled to do that, especially ones devoid of confidence, goals and sat at the bottom of the league. We played very well against Newport, just didn't get the result deserved.
Maybe it was a one of, maybe it wasn't, I still believe we will go down and won't be blaming Hurst for it unless we play poorly and fail to win. If we put up a fight and win 6+ of our final 19 then I think he would have done the best he can do with the squad we have.
Only thing I will blame him for so far is not getting in players earlier in the window, but how much of that is down to money/squad limits (prior to salary cap being removed) and our position meaning players wouldn't come is any ones guess.
I agree with the dithering on signings in Jan, but he did that every year in Non League so it’s no real surprise, it’s disappointing he didn’t act sooner given how vital those games were.
