It doesn't reach those temperatures until the afternoon.

The big problem is the 18 yards or so in front of the away stand. It gets no sunlight at all so will remain solid all day today and overnight. The ambient temperature tomorrow is likely to be not enough to thaw it and I suspect the clubs thought it best to get it postponed before Carlisle set off on their trek down.
especially when you have just sold your best striker?

Think that will be a bigger problem for yourselves than Carlisle. You really needed those 3 points in order to close the gap on Exeter & Cambridge. If Exeter win there will be a six point gap . Also expect Wigan to beat Reading. The bottom 4 at present will be looking like the bottom 4 come May in my opinion.

Our game has passed an inspection today.

It should go ahead, it’s been cold but there hasn’t been any frost in Leyton all week.

Famous last words but I think it will be ok.
Should be fine, haven't noticed much frost around the last few days as it's been pretty sunny and it's forecast to be 6 degrees at kickoff tomorrow.

I think the ref’s decision not to call it off to day was ridiculous. Instead they’ve scheduled a pitch inspection for midday tomorrow when it takes around five hours to get there for our fans. We had a game postponed at Morecambe a couple of seasons ago under similar circumstances, I really hope it doesn’t happen again.

I reckon it will be on, milder from about 3 in the morning so a good few hours for the frost to go.
But as you said, it was a refs decision (Mike Mullarkey) so if it is called off please don't do a Barnsley and blame the club..

Fleetwood fans, will our match be on tomorrow? Its a long way {660+ miles round trip} to go to get turned around. We've sold our allocation out too!

Nah we know it’s the ref this time. When our game at Morecambe was off a few years ago, Morecambe’s official Twitter put out a post at 9am saying it was on then it was called off at 1pm. Pricks.

Funnily enough there's been a thread on our forum this week, and the consensus seems to be that we're most similar as a club to Exeter. I'm fine with that, good company to keep, but we might have to switch sides to someone a bit more gash if you call this one off late doors.

Never really got rattled by that play off defeat though, they were just a better side than us. Torquay beating us in spawny fashion? When stood next to Helen Chamberlain in the stadium? Knowing it was shit or bust? Different kettle of fish.

Wonder what happened to them....

It should be fine Throbber_for_Dunk & Laker - currently 5 degrees, with it only getting warmer. I've got to pop into town shortly (pick up a too good to go breakfast) so I'll see if I can go via the ground and have a look

The frustrating aspect is that there's little excuse for this not to have been off. This hasn't been spoken of, however the club have equipment to thaw the pitch. I can only assume they didn't do this quickly enough, or Kassam wouldn't allow the groundsmen access outside the usual window... Given the article in the press this week it wouldn't half surprise me if it were this.

We met in the pub at 8 before the coaches left at 10 and the talk was that Oxford didn’t want it on and the decision was made yesterday. We were told at 9:30 the game was off but have still headed to Kidlington for a few beers. Seems like the decision was made and the 10am inspection was a formality

Pitch inspection was 11am at Peterborough only to announce another one at 1pm. Town fans will already be there. Can only be a small area calling an issue. May suit us if it's off, can only see a comfortable home win

Seen a couple of clubs (Stevenage and Peterborough) have said there’ll be inspections at 1pm. I get wanting to give it every chance to thaw out but if they get called off now that’s a wasted journey for Barnsley and Shrewsbury neither of which are short distances. I personally would prefer it to be done the day before at least everyone has had advanced notice then.

I think it should be the amount of time it takes to get from one ground to the other plus an hour. I wouldn’t have had a problem with a pitch inspection at Exeter at 9 this morning but midday meant that our fans would have been around Bristol if it was called off, that’s around three hours away from home which would be disgusting.

I agree with you on Shrewsbury and Peterborough, it should have happened much earlier.

Ffs game on.

We’re going to get hammered today, easily by atleast three or four goals. Was hoping it would be called off and we go there in a months time under a rejuvenated Paul Hurst side.

Hopefully today should be the last day I have to put up with Matt Taylor ball. Hursty in the dugout for next Saturday against Northampton so I’ve been told (unless we pull off a miracle win today).

Yeah that’s fair or at least should be a minimum standard so to speak. As it happens Peterborough is on but Stevenage is off so feel for the Barnsley fans who’ve travelled for nowt.

I know there were a few raised eyebrows from both Vale and Wycombe fans regards calling our one off yesterday along the lines of we had some injuries but that was overplayed. At least everyone knew where they stood in advance. I’m pretty confident in saying the last thing we want is any more Tuesday night fixtures.
