After two excellent away results we will lose at home in typical Barrow fashion.

Not scored in 5 and never won at Glanford Park. 0-0 at best

Some huge games at both the top and bottom of the league. We finally have a full squad to choose from and I fancy us to win this one. Digby, Hoolahan and Boateng all available for the first time since Xmas is going to be key for our remainging 10 games.

It will be a tough game but going for a 3-2 win for the U's.

Huge huge game for us at the weekend. Winner you’d think could probably start thinking about next season if Southend fail to win.

We’ve got some big players back and have been improving week on week so hopefully we can sneak an away win at Colchester. We never make it easy though so dare say we won’t and will drag the stress out until May! This is Vale!

mahoosive game for us against fgr with mitov(first choice keeper) our only absentee.

fully expecting fgr to come and have more of the ball but hoping we can catch them on the counter and be ruthless, hope dunk and hannant have got their running boots on!!

our defence really doesn’t give me confidence at the minute to keep a clean so mullin n co need the shooting boots on.

too tight to call but praying for a 2-1 win.

Given Menayese can't play, Waterfall will be back in so we are bound to concede at least one and given we can't really score, its got 1-0 Mansfield all over it

Newport’s resurgence will continue as we sink steadily towards 19th. Or worse.

I can't see us beating Crawley, purely for the fact that four wins in a row is hugely unlikely. I have a lot more faith in our defence these days, but we aren't scoring too many - Crawley are also on better form than us in the last 5 or 6 games, so I can't see them coming to play for a point.
I'd be happy with a draw.

Interesting game against Crawley - yes they've been in decent form - but they struggled Tuesday against a Walsall team who hardly caused us any issues in their previous match. A draw would be a reasonable result if Southend don't win, but 3 wins from our next 5 games (which includes Grimsby and Colchester) could almost see us safe.....

I went for a walk this morning and it took me past the training ground, pope was playing in a mini practice game, what a beautiful sight. wouldn't be surprised if he's in the squad even if it's just a late option off the bench.

It’s been obvious that he will be the surprise inclusion for a while... the holy one to the rescue again?

Barrow looked a good side at Crawley (a match that had fans...not many) and we only won because Watters decided to turn it on and get a hat trick.

We seem incapable of scoring more than one goal a game at the minute and although our first 11 looks good we seem to lose our way when we bring on the subs.

There seems to be a way to beat Crawley. Sit deep and press our midfield. Try to play football and attack us and we are good enough to cause problems for anyone.

Fancy a 1-1 with Crawley's goal scored in the 95th minute.

Feel like we should win, Top v Bottom of the form table. We've had the week off too, whereas Walsall had a midweek game. Probably going to be another grind though as they don't make it easy, and no results nailed on as seen in midweek.

Need to make it count while other teams play each other too.

Stevenage v Carlisle.

Stevenage unbeaten in 8.
Carlisle have won 1 in 10.
The bookies have us favourites. Fill your boots.

Bogey side Oldham for us at Valley Parade. The Latics have already beaten us 3 times this season in league and cup competitions.

Hopefully Danny Rowe shines and scores a couple against his old side.

Hopefully we tap up Conor McAleny after the game too to signing for us in the summer!

Massive blow for us today with the news that Callum Cooke, arguably our best player since Trueman and Sellars took over and started playing him in his best position as attacking midfielder, he is likely to be out for 6 weeks due to hip injury. We have no replacement good enough in my opinion to cover for him.

Top vs bottom of the form table is a Bolton type match to mess up. Got a bad feeling about it for some reason. Everything is saying we should walk it which makes me nervous. But we need to win it as we have 4/5 really tough games left after it.

Plus Sarcevic is out of the run in too. Several weeks minimum with a hamstring tear. We will miss his running. Think it will be isgrove delf and dapo on Saturday supporting Doyle.

It won’t matter as you have the best squad in the league.

Hate to say this but I'm not optimistic of beating FGR or even picking up a draw come to that. We didn't have a game on Tuesday but neither did FGR. Our home recent form is not great and I actually think we perform better on the road. OTOH, Rovers' away form is a very good one and what's more they always seem to beat us.

I can also see Mark Bonner getting the shape and formation wrong again like he did in the reverse fixture, when he thought that allowing a possession based side more time on the ball was a good idea.

Come on Bonner and you U's, please prove me wrong!

Half glass empty as usual Vanni.

I believe when we are fresh we are as good as any team in this league. The way we press and move the ball is vital and that is hard when playing so many games in a short turnaround.

We won’t let FGR do that this time and from what I understand FGR are struggling in the center of the park and with the return of Digby I strongly fancy us to get a result.

Saturday is simple from our perspective continue the run and we gain points on several teams, however the midweek scores show how volatile this league can be. Next midweek sorts out most of the games in hand and a clearer picture emerges. And for us it's on to a tough away fixture at Forest Green so a win is essential on saturday.

Mansfield v Grimsby. The purist's jewell in the East Midlands mini league some might say. Shame to be not going to grounds as we'd probably be take a big following to this. Could do with some Danny North magic please.

You’re right about struggling in the middle of the park, looking pretty light on numbers there.

We lost Carl Winchester in January who a lot of our play went through, replaced him with Isaac Hutchinson, a young lad on loan from Derby who’s not really done much and then lost Dan Sweeney for the season, who was probably the most like for like replacement in terms of his passing. On top of that we could be without Ebou Adams (injured) and Elliott Whitehouse (suspended) so it will be a makeshift midfield and we aren’t likely to dominate possession the way we did at home.
