I never want players to get injured, but if you could get a couple sent off that would be very handy for Tuesday night. Ta.
Alas not only did that not happen, but PAFC fans will be excited to learn that our best player McCleary (who has been broken for the last few games) has recovered enough to come off the bench today, hopefully can start on Tues.

I’d imagine your only concern is that it’s as level a contest as possible, so this must be good news, surely?

Feel sorry for Gillingham fans. They must be in a right mess to lose to our lot. I though we played well, but the opposition has to be taken into account. 17 year old Zac Williams looked the best player on the pitch. Still a long way to go, but it atleast brings us back into the race.

A 'goal of the season ' winner from Morecambe in the 4th minute of extra time, and they deserved it

A thoroughly wretched, dispirited performance from the home side, no spark no drive, miserable and utterly forgettable. Cant see a way out of this slump at the moment, away games coming up against Yellows and Wombles. Big call to make for the Chairman if this form continues, Grayson has been there done it and bought the tee shirt but relegation will be a massive financial blow to the club. Still a lot to play for and we are not dead and buried but boy do we need to find 3 points from somewhere

You could be playing us on Tuesday with 10 or more players out and an emergency keeper on loan. 3 of our centre halves are out so it would be a makeshift defence as well with top goalscorer Matty Taylor out as well. Robinson has said he wants to play the game but it depends on the authorities and whether more players test positive.

I don't think anything actually happened in our game.

One good save by both keepers a few penalty claims by Lincoln and a couple of possible sending off for Lincoln players, number 5 who just took Taylor out never anywhere near the ball and the number 10 who stamped on Rowe but the ref didn’t see it. Draw was a fair result for 2 teams who never looked like scoring

After 20 mins of struggling against Shrewsbury's press, their lad did us a massive favour and decided to handle the ball on the line giving us a penalty and earning a red card for himself.

We scored the pen and after that it was pretty much completely one way traffic.

We really need to start taking some of our chances. So many times today we broke in to the Shrewsbury half, only for the final ball to be messed up or a shot to be hit straight at the keeper.

Yep, we are a mess. Teenagers trying to fill in (and doing very well given the circumstances) managers head being turned, transfer embargo etc etc

You guys should have been out of sight by half time according to our own commentary team.

Very harsh. Every Crewe player ran their socks off today, we’d have beaten better teams than Gillingham. They worked hard too.

It is about survival now i dont think we will get many points between now and the window opening but we need a minimum of 5 new players come January. Unlike last January when we could attract good lge 1 players i dont see us having quite the pick and Evatt and the Board may have to turn to expensive loan signings

And target less injury prone players. Santos has had a cruciate, Sheehan has, Politic now has (although he’s hg), MJ has had a knee reconstruction basically and now dislocated his shoulder, we lost Amaechi for 4 months with metatarsal, Gethin Jones long term, Kieran Lee has history of hip injuries, sarc was injury prone, Doyle keeps injuring his calf, Bakayoko is out for another 6 weeks and has missed 6 plus weeks this season already, Declan John has history of hamstring injuries, Aimson missed a whole season with injury recently. Atm we have Sheehan out for the season, Baka, Doyle, gethin and MJ all out as a minimum plus sarc gone. That’s 6 who started the opening game. As you say we need to limp through to January. This season is about damage limitation now.

I was impressed with us. Williams and Sass-Davies were faultless. Porter, Kashket and Long worked incredibly hard, just the latter two need to work on there finishing because we should have scored atleast 2 or 3 more. We do have to account for the opposition though, injuries meant they were very very weak.

Yeh,if we go down (and it's still a big IF) I don't think there's much doubt Gillingham will be accompanying us.
Not too sure whether we have actually improved that much or whether it was because the standard of opposition made us look a bit better.
We got the rub of the green a bit yesterday with Gillingham missing a couple of great chances but then again we also hit the woodwork ourselves but overall I think we deserved the win.

Well the great run finally ended. It was fun whilst it lasted. Really fun.

We just weren’t at it yesterday. Charlton were really up for it from the off, nullified our threat and deserved to win. We did have the best chance of the first half in Ryan Hardie getting behind their defence, but the keeper made the save. However for the majority of the half Charlton posed a lot of threat without ever looking like really scoring.

2nd half we took control a bit at the start of the half, and just as you felt the game was on a knife edge, Charlton scored. Then it was a case of can we break them down and a case of will they score on the break. Cooper made a big save to keep it at 1-0.

We huffed and puffed but ultimately didn’t do enough in front of goal, and then the 2-0 sucker punch at the end knocked the stuffing out of both players and fans.

They’re allowed an off day though, they’ve been brilliant up until now. Ryan Lowe also made some interesting subs, taking off Hardie instead of Garrick for example despite Garrick offering no threat whatsoever.

Great day out though, had a few tinnies on the train and then a few pints at a pub on the river near London Bridge. The footy result comes 2nd when you’re having a good day out with your pals. Up The Argyle. We go again against Wycombe.

There is a reason why we signed these players .............simple we have not paid a transfer fee in 4 seasons
We attract these players because basically they are better than lge 2 but they arrive with a point to prove.
Bolton i am sorry to say will again be shopping for this sort of player come January once the likes of Sunderland, Rotherham and sorry to say Wigan have had first pick

Fair summary, not sure about you taking control in second half though. We came out the traps quickly after half time, I’d say you were more getting back into it before the goal rather than being in control.

We were fantastic, the turnaround under Jackson has been phenomenal. The football has obviously improved but the commitment to the cause, the effort, everything has just gone up 5 levels.

We’ve made 3 of the supposed top teams in this league look extremely average since Jackson has stepped in, why we’re still waiting for him to be made manager permanently God only knows.

Am I right in thinking that a lot of Sean Clare’s problems at Oxford were down to him being played out of position and him wanting to play in midfield?

I don't know about him wanting to play in midfield, but he looked better on the couple of occasions when we did play him further forward.

We signed him as a right back (we like our full backs to bomb forward a lot) but it was the defensive side of the full back role that he struggled with. It would appear that he hadn't actually played much as a full back, and it showed. I think there's a decent footballer in there, but sometimes it just doesn't work out for a player at a certain club and we quickly decided to cut our losses and let him move on, even though he had a fairly long contract.

How's he doing for you? I know Burton rated him highly , when we loaned him out to them, although he picked up a shed load of yellow cards whilst there.

Ah fair enough.

Funnily enough, I was only asking as I was never that impressed with him in midfield but he’s been covering at right back the last 3 games and has been excellent and looks far better there!

Kashket may just need a run of games, he had a long spell with us when he wasn't getting a chance in the side, but he did have one fairly prolific spell (though I can't recall whether it was in L1 or L2).

Kashket reminds me of Luke Rodgers. Runs himself into the ground every week no matter what but I can’t remember him really producing anything of note.

Fair play to the Cowleys they've turned it around after the successive 4 goal batterings by Rotherham and Ipswich. Three wins and two draws since in the league.

Another tight win, this time against Wimbledon. Could have gone either way but we turned it round with two good individual goals.

Wimbledon pressed quite high up the pitch which gave us problems throughout. Never a penalty though. Quality display of the dark arts from Guinness-Walker.
