I'm tickled that people are taking such an interest in my affairs. I really am. That's two name drops already in this thread and it's only a few hours old.

Could send 'Dale down this weekend. I know there's a lot of County fans who would enjoy it, given all the fuss around promotion in 2008 (stirred up by Keith Hill in particular) but I can't bring myself to be happy about another local 'proper' club getting stuck down there. But we abolutely need them points to keep up slim hopes of an automatic spot.

Bad news is seemingly losing Wootton for the rest of the campaign, at least Stretton's looking a threat and giving us a new shape with lower through-balls rather than aiming for the big man's bonce.
There's a weird section of both of our fanbases that are attaching too much meaning to this game and the alleged behaviour or comments of one another over the last 15 years. Weirdly most of it on social media seems to be coming from lads way too young to even remember the last time we shared a league.
Never got the whole County cheated in 2008 thing. A play off lottery, we both made it to Wembley and you were better on the day. Your squad wasn't exactly brimming with expensive superstars and any financial issues that brought about admin a couple of years later were more than atoned for.
Much piss taking on the way out from Wembley. A bit given back as County went down as we went up. And a bit more when you went down again...
Fans take the piss when a local rival does badly. Shock!
It was kind've the running comment from the likes of us Bury and Oldham when things were going badly "could be worse, we could be County". Oh how the tables have turned!

Anyway on to tomorrow, you should win comfortably. Tuesday was abysmal. You wouldn't think we had/have a slim chance of staying up. If its a similar start it'll be a toxic atmosphere. Even if County do win it isn't tomorrow that'll send us down. It's the clusterfuck of the season we've had to date that's doing that. I do fear our braindead Stoney clad quarter-to-three-arm fans will be out in force tomorrow. So that'll be fun.
Personally I'll be surprised if I make it to FT. Determined to get one of the bangin pies EP sell then I'm not reyt arsed. Happy to get back on the pub crawl.

Haway man stop being so milquetoast and decent, where’s the fight, it’s the first topic of conversation with people in town, we’ve been bricking it for days over this fixture.

I hope we send you bastards packing and yers have a throughly miserable day.
Yup,no sentiment at all from me.
I hope we smash Crawley to pieces.

Did you get a ticket Moonie?
No, I've not got a season ticket so couldn't get an away end one. Probably going to give the home ends a miss, as they'd sniff me out in no time - though a couple of lads I know have tickets for the home terracing, and I haven't ruled out a last minute dash tomorrow in order to join them. The kids are away for the day and I'm not at work, so we'll see how I feel in the morning.

Every game for all the teams up there are must win, but if we drop points here my blood pressure is going to greatly suffer prior to the Bradford game next week.
I’m not sure why, I can’t think of anytime in history we’ve negatively affected Northampton’s season. I’d go as far to say that most memories in the big games should be positive!

Not sure if you are serious or if there is a large Wembley shaped gap in your memory! That season you beat us every time we played you I believe. That being said our 3-1 win at your place was probably our best performance of the season.

Making a right mess of trying to sell out tomorrows game. For ages only a few single tickets have been showing on the website and the club think there’s hundreds available, turns out they’d just not released the seats in the away overspill section the daft bastards.

Anyway, need to win as Jord has said. Fancy us to as well, 2-0.

Only just been sorted, 2 blocks of the south stand have been opened but we missed an opportunity there I think. Im not saying we need a massive stadium, but for certain games our lack of capacity does effect us. Certainly with the away allocation but if people want to bring day trippers etc its often difficult as its just single seats that are left.

Do t worry it’s not like we have a big number 9 who can score anymore ;)

Hopefully we don’t gift you two goals in two minutes this time, our heads dropped after the first and it totally changed the game we were very comfortable until then.

Exactly mate, ridiculous they’ve left it so late. Had a few mates say they’d looked at tickets but didn’t want the family stand and couldn’t get enough together.

Can see us experimenting with the line up tomorrow and giving out a debut to Tom Booth in goal and giving more game time to fringe players who'll be here next season. If that's the case, Orient will win the league tomorrow but I'm more than up for seeing what the likes of Holicek can do.

I can't see us coming away with anything at Northampton. The best we can hope for is 1 point like we got at Orient, but you can only rely on luck so far.

Will be at Doncaster tomorrow. I'll be more focused on games at Hartlepool and Wrexham. Hoping for a double there, two home wins. I'd sooner the above double than County win or just one of the double will do.

I think we’ll win, don’t really care. Might not even listen in for once, but we gave Northampton a hard game, got two draws with Stockport and beat Carlisle and Orient in the last few weeks.

So if the Bradders of Bradford think it’s gonna be easy they may need to reconsider.

Failing that 6-0 Bradford.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Pressure is off regarding top 3 now so Carlisle focus can be on just grabbing that one win to secure play offs, this is the best chance.

Tactics HAVE to change, but watching Carlisle highlights and the game midweek I fully understand why Simpson is reluctant.

Think Simpson would like 4-3-3 he won title with it before, he has the forwards for it, the midfielders he has probably suit it, but he certainly has not the composed and reliable back line like we did in 2006.

Back then Kev Gray was probably one of the best performing centre backs League Two has had, that back 4 could be left on its own with limited or no cover from the midfield and hold its own, mistakes few and far between, the goalie Westwood was excellent on a week by week basis, we could be under pressure, not buckle (apart from Macclesfield) and play ball forward
Quickly to 5-6 players in other sides half who would counter and cause chaos.

This back line isn’t bad……..the stats prove it isn’t bad, but it is pone to mistakes, it needs players to backtrack and support it, the goalie may save two but then each game let a weak shot go in.

Not simpsons fault, 12 months ago we were as terrible as Oldham and Scunthorpe to even get here is hard work but this area has to improve in the summer.

Question now is does Simpson gamble, throw the players forward to cause the chaos but risk big large gaps at the back.

We never think any game is easy mate.

We need an early goal like we got in our recent comfortable wins over Sutton and Rochdale, to settle an expectant big crowd.

If we dont get that early goal or you score first, it's going to be a nervy afternoon for sure and some of our more impatient fans will turn on the side.

Hopefully for us it's a relatively comfortable afternoon, there is no better place to be at this level than a packed Valley Parade in good voice

Just making bacon and eggs, nerves are shot, already dropped an egg on the floor and ive just poured a whisky but haven't drunk it yet. Is it acceptable to get on it this early?

I'd prefer Bradford to go up rather than Northampton or Stevenage for partly geographical reasons, and partly because Bradford would be more of a roadbump than either of the others in our title charge next season.

We do have a shite away record all season so everything would point to a home win, but to be honest with the pressure off it'll be a total different kettle of fish to the majority of the season and any result is possible. We do have a good recent record against the top sides in the last month or so though, with only a Northampton goal of the season beating us, wins over Carlisle and Orient and a last minute equaliser denying us against Stockport.

I don't honestly care what happens today though, we've achieved what we needed to do. Nice not to have the stress for a bit.

Main topic of conversation all week has been today, everyone at work having butterflies yesterday.
Kick off can't come quick enough, the atmosphere lately has been great, today will be something else.
If you want a laugh to relax a bit, listen to Scott Lyndseys interview,he's looking forward to seeing & hearing the Crawley fans traveling numbers......all 150 of them!

not too early given the game - if you win it it's in your hands again - but lose and you'll be on it till next season starts...

Thing is no disrespect to Crawley but the town of Crawley won't be like this at all.

That is why we all want Hartlepool to stay up.

I feel bad all the Crawley slagging off because Casey Always comes across a real sound lad and I know he personally will have major passion towards the game and Crawley's fortunes etc.

No. It is not too early.
Good luck Hartlepool.
From a selfish point of view Crawley is an easier away for us but I can’t help feeling a Pools win would mean a lot more, to a lot more people, than a Crawley win.
So, so glad it is not us in this scrap!
