First: No one has said you were rubbish - comments vary from 'mid-table' to 'pretty decent'. You were decent - we had an off day and rode our luck a bit.

Second: One of the best goals ever in League Two - hahaha!!! Not even close. You need to watch more League Two football - fortunately you may get the chance next season and thereafter...
The word crap was mentioned.....and i hope never to see this league and this forum again, but alas i think you may be stuck with me.
All i ask is a better goal than yesterday at your stadium.
The vale goal i concede against Man City, but i still await a Cambridge Utd goal at home better

The brilliant thing about the internet and football forums is that if you don’t like what you see, you have the power to press a little cross in the top right of the screen and it all goes away - just like magic!

Ian Evatt has shades of Steven Pressley. Obsessed with possession, controlling the game etc. Comes out with statements like “Apart from the first 20 minutes where we conceded 2 goals we controlled the game” and says despite never winning he sees the signs that they are close to bring a really good team. Pressley called them green shoots.

It remains to be seen whether at this level he proves to be as inept as Pressley, we’ll see.

Have a feeling I'll be looking out for Oldham, Scunthorpe and Southend's results all season.

People were warning your lot on here that the step up is bigger then you'd expect,

That's not always true though.
I think the level in the conference isn't as good these days as it was 10 years ago.

*When you play Stockport
Would not get in our team......
Half of me wants to have another season in lge 2....Think Evatt learned so much even less than 10 games in#
Its obvious where we need to improve.
We will be a better team with better players whichever league we will be in

Yeah that's the point though, the gap has grown. I think most of the teams that have come up over the last few years have had to pretty much revamp their whole squad to become competitive. Barrow fans were a bit naive to think they'd do much better then avoid relegation this year.

Picked up the points against Scunny, but pretty scrappy from us, and Scunny were pretty decent in patches, better than I was expecting after their start to the season. I read on here a lot of their players are injured etc, and that was a second string side they put out, but I reckon on that showing they will start to improve. We are really going for it in terms of giving our academy kids a chance this season which is great to see. Looking optimistically towards the Orient match.
We already have a catalogue of injuries and were missing 6 extra players due to Covid. If you were to put together our strongest 11, not one of them played yesterday. It was essentially our reserve team. The fact our goalkeeping coach was managing didn't exactly help.

For some reason that team actually didn't play terrible, we weren't good either but it was probably the only time our team has shown fight this season. I don't think we will improve but it was nice to see the team actually seem to care.

I expected us to finish just above relegation - looks like it was exactly as I expected so far.

Risky move from Evatt here:

IMO always best to keep this sort of stuff in house.
Hopefully he will throw his toys out the pram and return to Fleetwood
No reserve Goalkeeper on the bench and only 18 year old Matty Alaxander and 38 year old keeper/coach Matty Gilks

Should of kept it in house.....if i was Joey Barton i would recall him.
Lads just not good enough yet

Bit of a dickish move, especially a young lad and one who's on loan?

We sent a young 'keeper out on loan a few years ago and the manager of that side called him out in a post match interview and said something along the lines of, "...I can't believe we've brought a goalkeeper in, from a professional club, and he can't kick a football in a straight line and keep it in play."

He was recalled on the Monday.

Kavanagh was similar, albeit focussing on intelligence. I think it's a rookie manager thing (Pressley is sort of a rookie as his experience has been a bit limited) where they don't have the confidence yet to call out the problems when the team aren't doing well. They just want to have something good to say about their team.

One thing Beech isn't though is obsessed with possession, we hardly have any, yet usually have the better chances. We're more territory focussed than most teams in this division where games will be largely played in the oppositions half and even if they have more of the ball our high press keeps them from getting it forward while providing us with an array of chances.

Just need to improve our chances, a lot of them don't fall to the right players or aren't really great chances, we get within sight of goal a lot but lack a cutting edge.

People on our forum get confused between ambition and realistic expectation. They say aiming to stay up is too negative. Then because we aren't just outside the playoffs they get frustrated and they become the source of the negativity.

We haven't won yet but we haven't been walloped either. A bit of luck and ironing out individual errors and braindead decision making at times, more so in the home games and we'd have been a lot happier. I just hope the best is yet to come and what we are seeing isn't the most we are capable of.

Survival was always going to be good enough for me this year and a couple of years after, whilst we are behind almost every club in this league in terms of current infrastructure. I mean fucking hell, one team in the North West has a Travelodge built into their ground.

As soon as you play us all your chances will suddenly go flying in.

Probably not - I’m whisking my other half away on a trip to Europe’s busiest shopping centre and a stay in a four star hotel.
Red bus to Brent shopping centre....Then a night in one of the local crack houses around Wembly
At least you will be home for ten, cuts the chances of being stabbed.
Have a great weekend innit

A few years ago, Barnet was relegated from this division, and in the beginning of the season they had an injury crisis and fell to second from the bottom of the league, and never really recovered from it. (They weren't bottom by the fact that Chesterfield were absolute shite that season).

At least no one on here is a VVV Venlo fan.....
That's only the Tourist Information Office team though!

Nearly every city and municipality in Holland has a tourist information office of its own. These can be recognised by their blue and white VVV signs, and are usually found in the local centre.

Mate, you don't understand the salary cap, so it's fair to say you haven't got a clue about nuclear energy...

Hmm lets think 1.5m Salary cap
20% of Turnover for Bolton =profit
125% of Turnover for Barrow= Relegation and another 40 years in the wilderness

Can't wait to draw the next 3 games, get in.

I bet the team are saving our wins for when the fans come back in, great gesture.
