A more or less full fixture card, save Wxm/Brum who only just played on Thursday.

We face a Northampton side who we’ve already beaten twice this season, but so what and no game should ever be taken for granted.

Especially not since we’re between managers and with a bunch of new players to integrate, so once again we need to work out what the hell our best First XI is.

We’ve dropped to a mediocre 11th in the home form table given a recent run of averageness, vs the Cobblers’ 21st the the away table.

County always struggle against Crawley, and the fact they're so poor this season guarantees that we'll get a point at best.

Massive game for us this weekend. A win here coupled with a shock up at Edgeley Park would catapult us into the playoff places. Even without a helping hand from Crawley, victory would see us climb above Reading.

Our outrageous run of form has been built off of a parsimonious defence (8 clean sheets in our last 9 L1 games) but we’ve not been goal-shy either. Going to be close to a capacity crowd and our shiny new attacking signings will be making their home debuts with everything to play for.

0-4.

Wigan thumped us 4-0 at our place such is the state of our defence, 3 of them set pieces.

Under the new gaffer we actually now look like we want to get forward in numbers and have some kind of game plan.

Defence is still very dodgy (rode our luck v Barnsley but were better 2nd half) and we are missing Conteh in the CDM role, as well as Promise up front who looks to be out for the season.

I will be there, as I was at Springfield Park in 1997 where Kevin Lynch sent off 4 of our players and one for Wigan (seemed proud of it too on the Undr the Cosh podcast....twat). Not surprisingly he bottled sending off a 5th for us.

Big game for us. Start of a run of 5 winnable games with 4 at home. Despite being pretty poor all season, we are 4 points off the playoffs with a game in hand, so in with a shout. These next 5 games will be make or break

Crawley have had some bad luck with injuries this season and it is continuing.

We are now down to 3 fit defenders. One has just signed from Gateshead. One is in his first season as a pro and the other has just started playing after being out for five months.

Our billionaire signing, Tanimu, has not been seen for a month so I don't know if he is injured or just considered crap.

Gotta be a must win, and without any additions outfield yet this window. Bodes well, another bench from the youth academy it is.

Chances of following up another creditable away draw with a string of hopeless defeats? Much more likely.

Right thread this time!

Posh at home. We've only won 2 in the last 10 against them, the last time was January 2020 with a last minute Jorge Grant free-kick.

This week we've lost Cadamarteri for at least six weeks and Moylan between six weeks and season ending depending on his scan results after going off against Northampton. We don't know if Wickens is fit enough to be back in goal, or how long we're going to get out of Collins and Clucas.

Low scorers and low conceders vs high scorers and high conceders.

Our last few meetings have always been close affairs and a lot of draws thrown in, I can see another close game. Your attacking shape is quite unique and has caused us problems over the last couple of seasons.

I imagine it'll be the same starting 11 at Charlton tomorrow for Shrewsbury, unless Pierre is injured in which case Nsiala will come in.

Same commitment as the Wrexham game and we should get something. However, after we beat Birmingham we went on to lose 3 in a row conceding 10 goals, which isn't beyond the realms of possibility with Stockport and Mansfield to follow ( tho it would be disappointed)

Blackpool at home - mid table clash. Probably be something stupid like 4-4 now

Without wanting to sound bitter and what not after our game with a shite performance, I felt that we gift wrapped that for you, and you didn't have to do much against us. I saw zero quality from you and apart from a decent workrate in your own half, you really didn't have any quality anywhere else on the pitch. I still stand by you lot being relegated though unless the takeover happens, but that seems to have gone a little quiet. Can't see it happening before the window and getting some money spent to improve the squad.

I did see you signed that lad from Telford. Whats all that about? Is it getting bodies in on the cheap?

It's a fair point in that we haven't got much quality, which is a reflection of penny pinching in the summer. What we have now is the players giving their all for 90 minutes and hassling opposition and trying to capitalise on mistakes. The first part of the season there seemed to be an acceptance that once we went behind we weren't getting back into it. Hurst was always glass half empty. He gave a self serving interview the other day saying Pep wouldn't do very well at Shrewsbury due to a mid league 2 budget. Ainsworth is getting far more out of a limited group of players.

The one rumour is that the takeover is at the fit and proper persons stage, although there's still no sniff as to who it may be. It'll be too late for this window.

The Telford lad must be part of the "Development strategy" quoted by the DoF Mickey Moore. Buy cheap and try and sell on at a profit. Judging by Ainsworth’s interview, can't see him getting much game time this season. Imagine Stewart may see more, but he's in the same boat. Those type of signings are better in the summer.

I'm still hopeful having seen most of the teams now that we can scrape together enough points to finish 20th, which i put in the pre season predictions. We've given ourselves a mountain to climb after only getting 8 points in the first 15 games, so will need upper mid table form from now on.

Don’t worry, the entertainment is We can play rock paper scissors to decide who will finish bottom out of the two of us.

Gregory only on the bench but a strong team otherwise, security is more lax trying to leave North Korea than it is going in the ground at Cambridge. Enjoyed pissing on a wall tho.

Hope you're right. I'm fluctuating between an irrational confidence after last week, and our recent record against you at The Abbey and, well, you know, you being a much better side than we are right now!

Considering our run of fixtures after today, this is pretty massive for us to cling on to any last slither of hope.

Fucking hell I can’t ever remember us starting a game so poorly for a long long time.

First goal is inexcusable giving a sitter two yards out 30 seconds in and we got caught out on the back line for the penalty.

Maybe one of the other mansfield lads could say differently but i can’t think of a worse start than this, we’ve been comically bad.

And there is the turning point.

Welcome to the injury suite, Marko. The last match and a half has been a pleasure.

As you might have noticed (mainly as the female commentator has said it about 40 times) we’ve not had a shot yet.
