  • Accrington Stanley v Gillingham
  • AFC Wimbledon v Cambridge United
  • Doncaster Rovers v Charlton Athletic
  • Ipswich Town v Plymouth Argyle
  • Sheffield Wednesday v Cheltenham Town
  • Shrewsbury Town v Lincoln City

So, despite a reduced fixture list due to bloody international friendlys we have some cracking match ups today. Ipswich v Plymouth at the top is the stand out fixture. An Ipswich win please. :gr: . Sheffield W should get a win at Cheltenham to keep their playoff hopes on track.

At the bottom, AFC desperatly need a win. Cambridge are safe but I'm sure they will want to consolidate amid table finish. Gillingham will be hoping to get something from a visit to Accrington Stanley and Donny will be hoping the same against Charlton.

Would take a point today but I tell you what, if we win, we’ve probably got one foot in the playoffs.

Ipswich away today will be a tough game think we'll win this 2-1. Camara and Jephcott are still away on international duty but I think we'll still have enough to win.

We can’t score, easy 3 points for Charlton today, in fact I’m more interested in what’s happening at Town Moor today as it’s the official first day of the flat season and the Lincoln handicap

Big game today. Win every game and we’ve got a good chance of top 6 but realistically I think we’re out of it. We’ve been playing some good stuff without putting the ball in the net. Haven’t lost at home since November and haven’t conceded at home since January. Another 22k+ crowd too. Interested to see if Plymouth will come for a point or try and go for all 3. Head says 0-0, heart says 1-0 town win.

We have always gone for three points this season. Risky, but the way we play. So I’d be surprised if we park the bus. My suspicion is that we will try to score on the counter. We have pace up front. If you only leave one back at corners and Coops catches it expect a very long, fast flat throw for Hardie to chase. Be interesting to see if 15 year old Freddie Issaka is on the bench again as our fourth striker.

Both of you safe though so I suppose it's just who has gone on their holidays yet!!!
Like to finish with a flourish but know what you mean, it's 4 from the 6 below us.
We had 2 call ups so our game was nearly off!
In fact we have two lads on loan in Ireland if they weren't we would have been off.

Cambridge and AFC Wimbledon trying to bore the other team into defeat. Fucking awful game so far. One very poor side, one on the beach already.

Massive win for Gillingham, now 4 points clear - giving themselves a fighting chance! Wimbledon looking doomed as yet another game goes by with no win! Donny continue to look dreadful and offering no fight. We are 9 clear with 7 to play!

Absolute cruise control today. Still not hitting the back of the net enough. 6 successive home clean sheets eases that issue, though.

4-1 was a bit harsh today although Wednesday fully deserved the win. Started well obviously and we had 2 or 3 great chances at 2-1 down but we fizzled out towards the end.

It wasn’t pretty from us today but my god the table looks beautiful this evening. We were ten points adrift with an awful goal difference when Neil Harris came in, we’re now 4 points clear. He’s a miracle worker.

I applaud what Neil Harris has done and its what makes football such a fantastic game. A few months ago the Gills were to all intent and purposes buried. Cast your minds back to a year ago, actually longer than that when Burton Albion were dead and buried at the basement of leaue 1. A new manager comes in as in Jimmy Floyd and low and behold Burton slowly claw their way up the table. Believe it or not I dont wish any team ill, at the moment hings look grim for Crewe, Doncaster, Morecambe and maybe the Wombles. Sooner or later AFC Wimbledon will win, hopefully my beloved Fleetwood will do the same and it will be as tight as ever. Meanwhile you Gills fans enjoy, if this was the start of the season you would be challenging for promotion !!

The game against you guys is going to huge for both of us whatever happens, apart from yourselves the rest of the teams we have yet to play are all challenging at the top. It’s by no means over for us yet!

Fair point you are making mate but when you get in a good positive run, it transmits itself all over the club and winning becomes a habit. I'm not a betting man but you can look forward to league 1 next season

We certainly now have a chance but, with such a threadbare squad, a lot still depends on keeping as clear as possible from any more injuries.

If we do somehow survive, we have got to back Harris with a realistic budget. Most of our players are out of contract in the summer so the decks will be cleared and he will have to wheel and deal. That is assuming we manage to keep him.

Another win, another clean sheet, 11 unbeaten, over 2ppg average in 17 since McKenna came in and we’re still 5 off the play offs! Over 23k crowd again (brilliant away numbers from Plymouth over 1k).

What we need is Plymouth to now go on and carry on winning their games as that’ll mean the teams we can catch will be one game closer.

Ipswich are doing really well but them in the playoffs is the last thing I want simply because if they make it they will be on one hell of a run. Not what you want in your rivals for the playoffs.

Saying that, we are 12 unbeaten:cool: so really shouldn't fear anyone.

I don’t think we’ll make it personally, it’s too late now and the top 9/10 teams are too consistent. The start of the season has cost us.

All of our senior players are out of contract in the summer, however Harris is under contract until the end of the 23/24 season.

3 points out of the first 15 in August has killed us really. Such a shame because the football we’ve been playing has been too draw at times. Hopefully we can score a few more and end the season on a high!

Good win but you got a bit lucky at the end with the challenge that looks like a penalty!

I’m not so sure, their player seemed to run in to ours (Tucker) whilst he was going up for the ball, seen them given, seen them not. Maybe it’s time we had some luck though!

Ipswich fans still delusional.

Plymouth were absolutely pony yet you still couldn’t kill off the game.

Huh? Jog onto your own games, we’ve played each other now.

Town fans know we need a consistent goalscorer/forward. Bonne/Norwood/Jackson (to be fair he’s been alright since he came back before his injury)/Piggott aren’t good enough to get us out of this league by themselves.

We’ve built a strong team behind that creates chances that just get wasted.

Maybe - it's all down to the ref's subjective opinion of course.

Trouble is we never hear why a decision has been made so people just guess and say he missed it.

Massive win at accrington, can't belive were now 4 points clear, still a long way to go but if harris does keep as up surley he would have to be in the running for manager of the season.
I really would like to thank Oxford for the spanking they gave us as I really think if that had not happened scally would have given the job to Steve lovell, but that game forced his hand to bring in harris
