On the Keith Hill appointment, there was a lot of OTT reaction when it happened. Partly as BITDHSS says due to the feeling the caretakers had done so well, but also because the rumour mill had linked us with names who were never going to come to Tranmere, but some of the support had believed otherwise. It wasn't an easy job to take on, much easier to come into a losing set-up and he also deserves credit in being prepared to work with the caretakers going back to their existing roles, which one of the other apparent contenders Paul Hurst wasn't willing to do. However, despite one or two bumps in the road, Keith has won over enough fans and impressed the Chair that I'd expect his contract to be extended if he wants, regardless of whether we go up.

The home game v the O's was a 0-1 hammering with the visitors missing chance after chance. Expecting a much better performance from Rovers this time.

Walsall away - another tough away fixture. Seems a lifetime ago since we played their last season; 1-0 - Vaughan on the scoresheet.

As mentioned, I imagine Andy Cook will get the nod over Rowe, given we play Mansfield next Tues - meaning Cook will be ineligible to play. I do fancy Cook to score against his old side. I wasn’t sure about him at first, but he’s showing his quality in games at the minute.

Gareth Evans had a knock against Orient. By the sounds of things, he should be fit; but I can see Crankshaw coming in. The latter changed the game for us midweek

GK: Sam Hornby

RB: Anthony O’Connor
CB: Paudie O’Connor
CB: Niall Canavan
LB: Connor Wood

DCM: Levi Sutton
DCM: Elliot Watt

RW: Charles Vernam
CAM: Callum Cooke
LW: Ollie Crankshaw

CF: Andy Cook

Billy Clarke, Lee Novak, Bryce Hossanah, Zeli Ismael and Reece Staunton are still out injured. Although, Clarke did train this week.

Another win here and it’s 6 wins in 7. Our form at the minute is well documented. The lads are full of confidence, but the City fan in me is just expecting it to come crashing down. Surely, there’s no way we’ll continue this form until the end of the season - will we?

Andy Cook is deceptive looking. He scored a lot of goals for Tranmere in non league and some of them were crackers. His goal against Eastleigh was the best one. 30 yarder.

Should be an interesting one. We’re in better form than you, and have two games in hand over you.

They have won 9 of their 12 games against teams who were or are in the bottom 8. You are not down there. Lets see how they cope.

I have asked for a summary of why they have the best squad in League 2 but nothing yet. Big mouths, little balls.

Think our form is there or there about......It will be a decent game with a odd goal either way

We are nothing like what we were when we played you, but there again neither are you

It winds me up no end every time I see the word Charles Vernam and the utter stupidity from our club that led to him being in your squad and not ours.

That doesn’t surprise me, he’s a very good player to have at this level.

Our front four are causing some real problems for defences lately - Vernam is generally at the heart of that.

Toughy tomorrow. We’ve got a bit of an injury crisis again with Worrall, Manny and Joyce out, three big players so not going to make it any easier.

Assume we will set up like Tuesday and Clarke has made us look more organised a solid which is a positive.

Cambridge seem hit and miss the past few games so hopefully we can put in one of those performances we seem to like putting in against sides up there in recent years regardless of how shit we have been playing.

Need to keep it tight first and foremost like the past couple of games and try and add some quality. Clarke has been pretty outspoken about it. Hopefully midweeks results elsewhere will give us a kick up the arse that there’s still work to be done.

Cambridge followed by Salford A and Cheltenham A so probably need a result tomorrow on our own turf as the away ones don’t look to likely!

Oddly we look slight favs with skybet which is a surprise!

Our defensive issues are mounting up, after Jordan Moore-Taylor fell over and broke his arm yesterday. Going to be out for a while, so will be a patched up backline for the forseeable future with Sweeney out for the season and Stokes injured against Southend. Our lack of depth could be pretty exposed if we're not careful.

Pity you deserve to go up as in a way Newport did. Lack of resources are hitting some teams way more than others.......Still think you will just get over the line

What does that make you when we beat you twice, scoring 6 in the process, without even playing as well as we can?
You aren't expecting a rational response from him are you. He only responds with nonsensical childish abuse or rambling drivel. His spellchecker has also broken.

There is so much about that first sentence that is wrong it would literally make Shakespeare spin in his grave fast enough to reverse time. Its poetically awful. Congratulations.

Having just read his reply I see exactly what you mean. He has so very strange ideas that guy but there again looks who he supports. I would expect nothing else to be honest. The majority of them are either bewildered or deluded yet I think our "friend" is both actually

A stable genius. Are you actually Donald Trump? Are we the new home of him? Is Make Bolton Great Again your slogan? It explains a lot. The complete indifference to financial impropriety. The rambling lunacy of your posts. The awful grammar and spelling. The crazed delusion of greatness. Hey everybody, we got ourselves an ex POTUS on here. Bigly good times. The biglyest goodliest good times ever. None biglyer or goodliester than these.Time for some cofevee and a hamberder.

Big game away to Port Vale tomorrow. A ground we don't usually do well at but I am confident we'll get a result.

Unlucky not to come away with a point on Tuesday night if we take our chances early on I hope it will be a comfortable afternoon like it was at Mansfield. It seems Clarke is going to go 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 so they will be hard to break down.

I'm excited to see the Boateng and Hoolahan combo again tomorrow.

He’s played three formations already so could be any formation. One bonus is no one knows how we will set up.
