We're very bad at the minute. Powderpuff midfield, no pace, no creativity, no goals, no physicality, nothing up front either, no real options to change anything and to cap it all off, it's come at a time when we're playing the likes of Doncaster, Crewe, Accy, Shrewsbury etc who're down there with us.

Two Cup games against L2 opposition next.

Plymouth 3 defeats on the bounce. As I said before I expected the bubble to burst and for them to then struggle. Quality alone will see them finish outside the top 6 unless they can revert back to winning ways quickly.

As for ourselves, 20 games in with a brand new squad. We're just shy of touching distance with the top 6. Will it be a two year project? I hope not, but shoud that be required I'm ready for that as are the owners.

Desperately unlucky not to take a point against Pompey, can’t fault the effort of any of the players but when your luck is down it’s even harder to grind out a result. Table is now looking extremely depressing too.

Edit: And Cowley was booked immediately after the injury time winner which might suggest why Evans told him to do one at the end.
The Cowleys and Evans/Raynor have history going back to their Lincoln and Mansfield days respectively, they just don't get along. Evans/Raynor have always refused their handshakes.

2 year project is another way of saying you are not good enough to go up this year - which you are not.
Always be wary of management with sayings like this, trying to buy time. You have a good squad and have money. You are underachieving. Don’t accept this “project” bullshit served up. Every club has a “project” - doesn’t mean it will happen though.

I'm enjoying watching us play again which has been tough to say for many a year. The mistakes we still have in us can be infuriating, though.

I also expect a strong January from us, ideally focusing on a LB and perhaps a CB too.

Our season will effectively be decided in the January transfer window. If we can keep everyone, we'll get into the play offs.
That's a big if. Is Winkleman up to passing on a good pay day for the likes of Scott Twine and Kasumu. The other thing that worries me is the reliance we have on really well performing loans who could get recalled as well.

Still, nothing that any other club in this division doesn't worry about (except for a few moneybag clubs :gr:)

He did on Kasumu in August thankfully... but you're right.

And while I trust our system now to replace effectively so won't get overly upset no matter who goes, it would most likely disrupt our season for a while at least.
