Not sure it was and it won’t change anything but it’ll be interesting to see the potential offside for the winner. Looked very tight from my vantage point (no sour grapes before anyone piles in - just what I saw)
Think it was off having seen the replay but to be honest it's about time we had a contentious decision go our way.

Can't believe what is happening to Northampton after last year. I still think you will go up -- But imagine if a certain Mr. Saunders scores the winner.

Well done Sutton for taking the award for the most inept disorganised performance of the year...an award that I was sure we had in the bag. Overall however...we've got you licked in terms of overall consistency throughout the season.

If ever a team summed up being "on the beach" it was you today. At times, it made us look quite good.

Can I ask... your number 8 (the Van Dyke lookalike) Has he ever played football before? Or did he win some sort of fans competition. Comfortably the worst player to play against us in decades.

Really wanted your enormous Barry white lookalike sub to come on, but he couldn't squeeze out of his trackie bottoms !!
No 8 is a quality player (usually) and we’ll do well to keep him. He certainly won’t be playing non league football anytime soon. Like a few in the side has been playing virtually every minute for way too long and without our captain alongside him. Been a rough end to the season for us but I still back us to be fine come the next one once refreshed. The big challenge is whether we can improve in our forward and wide areas whilst losing Ajiboye (and maybe Randall - don’t think he’s signed for next season yet).

who?
Watched it back and the bradford winner wasn't offside.
Also congratulations Stevenage! first time they've had automatic promotion in the league.

Yeah not seen it myself so unsure, but it’s pretty unbelievable to be in this situation with it all conspiring against us again

Well that first ten minutes of our game, we was shocking - particularly in the build up to the corner Stockport scored from. We was halfway to the beach, no energy and no one taking charge.

Second half we played alot better, got ourselves into some decent positions but some good heroic defending and steady goal keeping from Hinchcliffe made sure Stockport got to seal the game with a third.

Last 15mins we put two unfit players on for sentimental reasons in Dan Happe and Theo Archibald as both have been out with injuries.

Stockport are a good team and should they end up in the playoffs IMO they will have a very good chance of winning them. A shame a few of their fans at the end decided to start throwing objects at a group of women in the flats by the away end, I'm all for the piss taking but that crossed the line.

Got to raise the trophy at the end, which was the main event, we've won 2 leagues in 4 years now so I've been making the most of it. :woo:

Well I will put it down to him having an off day. You certainly have some huge players (physically) and the mismatch in size between the teams was even more evident that when we faced Bradfords giants a couple of weeks ago. Good luck for next season. Not sure we will be back any time soon, but we can all hope.

come on tranmere, fancy giving us an easy game next week - got a 17 year old keeper to play?
we need something to go our way because nothing else is.
I don’t think we’ve won a game where the opponent had something to play for since Mellon got sacked and our injury crisis given we’ve a smaller squad is arguably worse than yours. That might be enough…

And good luck to you. Get a decent manager and you should have enough to at least be a play off challenger. You likely to lose any decent players? Appreciate they haven’t collectively got the results but they’ve been there or thereabouts in most games. Fine margins in this league.

Harrogate
Harrogate were dominant in the first half. Kilgour pushed the ball into the net when it was clearly going wide gifting us the first goal. Pym looked totally lost when Daly slotted home the second.

Mansfield looked like a different team in the second half and their home support were fantastic really trying to lift their team. The inevitable happened and when Swan scored it felt like the tide might be turning. However, 2 things save Harrogate,

  1. a couple of great saves by Oxley
  2. Stags started to panic and lost all composure. They were firing shots in from all over shop in an increasingly desperate attempt to equalise. 31 shots and only 5 on target tells its own tale.
191 happy Harrogate waiters and chambermaids made their way back up the M1 well impressed with both their team's performance and the passion of the Mansfield supporters.

Well that didnt go as planned. Thought the way the second half went we were going to get a late goal to send us up, then the sucker punch at the end. Lewis made some fanastic saves and Cook did what he has done all season. We had more than enough chances to win it though.

Changed my flight home from my holiday to come back Monday morning, straight up to Tranmere. Surely it wont be goal difference again will it..?

It's a team game and the goalie and striker are part of a team doing their jobs. Think you will beat Tranny and take the promotion you deserve, a great squad effort. Last year's disaster wasn't even goal difference.

Just seen the red card again.

Elliott Watt has pushed Mellish in the chest, Mellish has stayed on his feet and pushed him back in the chest. Watt has then gone down holding his face.

Either Elliott Watt should get a 3 game ban as well, or they should overturn Mellish’s red. They can’t punish one player and not the other for the same thing just because one of them has gone down like he’s been shot.

Thought Mellish deserved the red at the time, but it's clear from the replay that he's been absolutely fucked over.

Fuck Salford, fuck Ellitott Watt, and fuck the EFL for their blatant bias towards the class of 96 or whatever bullhsit those c*** are called.

Time for a proper Cumbrian welcome to be afforded to all 7 of Salford's 'fans' if we get them in the playoffs.

Utter bottle job of a ref, yet again.

Could be worse, but yet another fuckery from the EFL.

This is the FA they can and will do what the fuck they like even when it makes zero sense.
Remember that Crawley player at Northampton doing similar to get the Northampton player sent off so the red card was appealed and he lost it.

Not a chance the EFL will take action against the c*** of ninetie-whateveritwas. They've been handed the moon on a stick of late.

I literally hope they go bust, and I wish that on no genuine football club.

Not even Barra.

Saw the red. Your lad should never push him obviously, but Watt's reaction is a disgrace. Goes down like he's been uppercutted by Superman and clutching his face - prick. Never liked the little arsehole when he was here last season.

I'd love to see Salford go bust. They're everything that's wrong with football and the thought of them getting promoted over the likes of Us, yourselves, and Stockport makes me sick.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
That Carlisle goalkeeper and back line is so poor it honestly cannot work in anything than a back 3, must get sorted in summer. Will have to just go 3-5-2 if in play offs and hope for tight games.

Cannot complain on the sending off player wants a massive fine for his utter stupidity, he is just lucky that won’t cost team the season since we could have been 2-2 with momentum at that moment.

Also why do they never play Patrick on the right side, he on his day has immense ability to beat players but always plays on side with wrong foot cutting in which removes this option.

FA won’t do nothing about a player faking it clutching face because that means them admitting players in game are cheats.

As a side point, yesterday's ref was fucking useless for both sides. Didn't have a clue.

We were relegated last week but was a good performance second half from us. Barra totally on the beach but nice to sign off a dismal home campaign with a win.

Askey very honest in his post match presser taking potshots at the squad, number of players left out who didn't want to play.

Did my grieving post Crawley. If Askey is backed we will do well next season. I can't see it but we live in hope.

Sylla, Finney and McDonald most notable absentees, Kemp was injured yesterday so rules him out, pretty telling that Askey would rather have a 6 man bench with a youth teamer also sitting on it than pick any of them three.

Just got shot of them if they don't wanna be here, Sylla has ambitions above his station and if the other two think they can get EFL moves then good luck to them!

To be honest the team he picks week in and out isn't far off at this level. Depending who is here, we need defensive reinforcements and players in to replace the likes of Umerah, Kemp etc.do that and its easily a top 7 side in the NL.

Sterry will probably be off, applauded all corners at the end and looked close to tears. Real shame to see us relegated, we are not a non league club, with the right owner we could be a competitive L1 or L2 club but it is what it is. It needs new direction. Hopefully come back much stronger whenever that'll be.

Absolutely not surprised one bit Oli Finney and his horrendous attitude has come to the surface once again. Best thing you can do is get shot of that waster. Very lucky to even be in the game but Artell loved him and defended him through every indiscretion he made here on and off the field.

People like him are a waste of talent and space. If you have any ambitions of promotion next season, bad eggs in the dressing room like him need throwing on the scrapheap sharpish.
