I suppose it’s a good thing we lost then for argyle - as if we had won, Plymouth would have missed out on the fact they lost 5 and not 2-0.

Absolutely gutted, but we gave it our all in the end. That’s all any fan can ask.

Wish you all well next season

First of all I want to wish Gills best for next season and sure they will come back stronger
No euphoria at staying up, relief and very happy. Emotional at the finish, Fleetwood players and staff came to our fans and you'd have thought they were Champions. Lovely touch by Bolton fans as they turned to Fleetwood fans and applauded which was rightly reciprocated. Lots to do in the close season to ensure we don't find ourselves in this position again, it will be as tough as ever come August, best wishes to the promoted teams and those who find themselves in league 2.

Best of luck to you guys too.

I’ve seen Bolton’s third now, that was quite something!

Commiserations to Gills, just left themselves with a bit too much to do once Harris came in. I think they’ve got a really good chance of coming straight back up with him next season.

Also commiserations to Donny, Wombles and Crewe.

Our game against Cheltenham was really entertaining, two sides who have had decent seasons playing with freedom. I felt we should have won that but a couple of soft goals have thrown away two points. Smith’s second for us is just excellent, what a season he has had.

The Cheltenham red card was ridiculous. I can only assume he has said something to the ref….

I really hope that’s not the last we see of Wes Hoolahan, he was fantastic today.

Great effort this season, hopefully we can build on it next season.

Horrible game at Sincil Bank. Proper end of season feel. Why/how we had our highest number of home fans, ill never know.

Crewe scored from what seemed a mix up at the back from us. 1st half was a complete no show. We grew in confidence 2nd half but Crewe had many chances. Any decent team would have taken. 2 goals in last 12 minutes ensures we win.

Have heard rumours of Appleton leaving for a while, a real shame. Always going to be difficult to replicate last season, will be interesting where we go from here. Its clear from all those in the club that we want to play youth and play a passing game, so wonder who is available!

After reading the interview that Neil Harris gave I would be delighted to have him as a manager. Call a spade a spade eh, hope the board back him, you've got a good honest guy

I'm rather pissed. Not pissed off, just pissed. WOnderful win today. Missed out on promotion but after that win can't be too upset.

Scott Twine will be playing in the Chamonship next season with or without us, Darling as well probably.

Now, wehers that drink.

My brother was at Home Park today he said you guys were fantastic. The playoff’s certainly look spicy, and you have a great chance with the momentum you’ve built.

Highest points total since 2003 to miss out on the play offs and lowest ever points to stay up on.

I thought the Gillingham players did everything they could yesterday and the way the home crowd got behind them at the start of the second half was brilliant.

Had they scored then (there were a few good crosses that flashed across our box) I believe they would have gone on to win.

As it was we were lucky enought to weather the storm and eventually get the second.

Neil Harris will I'm sure get you back up, his after-match comments were conclusive to me that he knows where all the problems lie and he'll sort it.

My apologies for all the knob ends that ran onto the pitch.
In normal circumstances it might be acceptable, but when your opposition have just been relegated, it's not classy at all.
Good luck for next season.

Left at half time yesterday.

Never hated a squad of Charlton players more than I hate that gang of pricks and can’t stand our day tripper wanker fans, give me 350 at Fleetwood any day.

I wouldn’t be too hard in your fans mate.
You had just got promoted so it’s understandable that they were excited and buoyant.
I spoke to a few on the pitch and in the pub afterwards and they were absolutely fine and really quite humble
Good luck for next season.

You lot were somehow worse than we were at the Valley in December. They got some abuse at FT as well. Your GK had the worst distribution I’ve seen this season

Well done to Wigan. Pleased for Max Power, i met him once in Durham. Very nice bloke. Good luck to you and Rotherham. Hopefully we join you but getting past Weds will be very tough.

Don’t blame you pal. It has good and bad posters. Owlstalk seems the same. I genuinely wanted you in the final but semis it is. I’m not confident because Broadhead is injured and Ross Stewart looks knackered. However Alex Neil has been fabulous and made us very hard to beat. I’ll be there on Friday and imo we need to take any sort of lead to Hillsborough. We beat Pompey at home 3 yr ago and drew 0-0 away, last year Lincoln won 2-0 (in a game we shudda scored twice but for the woodwork and a stupid goal we conceded) then we won 2-1 in the home game and lost the tie (ran out of steam and LJ was unfortunately shit tactically) so in our last two play off years the home team first went to the final (Omens, i’m hanging on to these). Personally i think these two legs will be cagey with not being much in it. Hate the play offs. We’ve never ever won them. Brentford broke the red and white stripe curse last season, sure sky said in 27 or so attempts a red and white striped team had failed to win the play offs. Good luck to MK & Wycombe, a total contrast of styles (strangely i fancy wycombe to get through).

Both times we made the final we played at home the first leg.

Be interesting to see what tactics both employ on Friday, if you sit back I expect a war of attrition

Even if somehow we managed a draw on Saturday, the Wycombe 85th minute winner to put us 7th would have hurt I think even more than the 5-0. This way the plaster was ripped off quickly. At least that’s how I’m coping with it anyway…

We’d have stood no chance over 2 legs against MK if they’re playing like that as well!

Didn't see the game but it sounded like we were fortunate to get a point. Smith's second goal was a cracker, thought he was really good for us last season and would've been happy to have him back.

And yeah, that red card was bizarre, such an innocuous challenge. Shame for Boyle as that was almost certainly his last game for us after 5+ years at the club.

Great to see all 4 promoted teams from last year stay up. I think next year will be a real challenge for us with a lot of turnover expected within the squad.
