Ah the Dingles at home, potential for the sister fuckers to cause an upset but they're usually back in their shed, high sixing each other after seeing running water and electricity again, by 6pm curfew after a loss

Need a big performance after yesterday and a positive result with some rough fixtures to come, similar to Burton it’s one we need to be looking to win.

Looks like James Wilson should be back and will go from having one available striker to 3 or 4 with the West Ham loanee also available for this and we will almost certainly sign another this week (be it Stockton or someone else) which should cure some of our problems where we’ve dropped points that were there for the taking.

We were told August up to deadline day would be virtually an extension of pre season with playing getting up to speed and rotation for minutes so have to get into gear now and start pushing on.

Wendies only charging £26 this year. Still be avoiding it like the plague. Guaranteed loss at one of the biggest shitholes in English football while being harassed by the scummiest police force in Europe.

Peterborough is the first game of our toughest run of the season. Not getting too carried away at the moment as I'd like to see where we are after Ipswich away on October 1st. If we're still top 6 then it's game on.

Should be goals in this one. 2-2 or something (Bishop, Dale)

My first game of the season, and first of a tough run. If we can stay in the mixer at the top i’ll be happy!

Mate you're from Barnsley and have the same fucking police force.

You won't be missed.

Going to be a very different type of game to yesterday against Cheltenham. At home against a similar level opponent we’ll be expected to be on the front foot more against them. With Wilson back and Mipo available at least there will be attacking options to call upon.

Regardless of anything else I hope we spend a large part of this week working on passing drills. Our ball retention needs to be better than it has been pretty much all season.

I think with that we just need to set on a midfield three and not rotate it all the time, that said I’m worried by Conlon, he’s looked a shadow of the player before his injury… hopefully it’s just game time he needs.

He’s coming back from an Achilles injury and not playing for about 8 months. It was always going to take a good while for him to build up confidence again after an injury like that. we probably won’t get the best of him for another month or so.

On a separate note I wish some of our fans would lay off on Hussey. It’s pathetic the vendetta some have seemingly got against him. He’s not the most dynamic player any more granted but some of the groaning when he passes back etc is ridiculous, better that than give it away cheaply like Walker did on their goal yesterday.

I think our chances depend a lot on what happens between now and the transfer deadline on Thursday. We're crying out for some steel in midfield. If we don't get an experienced player there, then it's going to be one very long season for us.

Hussey got battered after MK and he was the best on the pitch that evening for us. Granted he’s not produced the goods since signing to the level we expected and is way behind Benning now but the abuse he’s had is uncalled for. He still played a part in a promotion and doesn’t deserve the flack.

Forest Green away.

It’s not a must win yet, but if we’re to push towards the play offs then these are the games we have to take maximum points from.

Hopefully we’ll have 2/3 new players by Saturday, Stockton being one here’s hoping.

Mk having scored 4 yesterday will hopefully come to play football, which is usually what we like. Despite not scoring in three games I fancy us to get going again on Saturday, hopefully the most important players are rested in midweek and we may decide to start Harper, who by all accounts played well when he came on.
3-1 to us...

Enjoying the South Yorkshire banter...

Yet another game against a side in the top half.

We’re doing quite well considering we’ve not played anyone in the bottom half yet.

Fleetwood away, a middling start so far for both teams. Not really familiar with many of their squad so no idea how this will go.

Decided to write yesterday off, we can’t expect anything from games like that. This game we need to try and get something though to restore a bit of confidence and find some sort of settled team.

We actually played pretty well at home against Plymouth & Brighton, but lost both 3-0. Hopefully we can play similarly against the Shrews but this time defend a bit better.

Mind you they do say it’s the sign of a good team if you can play badly and still win, not sure what playing well and still losing 3-0 means….I suppose yesterday showed what happens when we don’t play well.

Feels like we're back in that rut of liable to give anyone a two goal start, got to get out of that habit quick. Maybe one more body in for defence?

Derby away. 1700 tickets sold so far so should be a good crowd and a decent atmosphere. Would take a point

Lincoln at home and ill always back us to beat any team in this league at home but it all depends which United turns up.

Having said that, three different performances at home this season and all have resulted in a home win so I will go with a 3-2 win.

Yeah you would think so, I mean we’ve conceded 11 goals in a week. Definitely expect some movement before the deadline.

Not sure how long Boyes is out but we could do with him being fit as well, teams attacking down our left a lot.

Oxford away. We always get battered there.
Usually 5.
So that’s 7 or 8 this time with the keystone cops in charge.

Etc

I have a curious interest in the way Yorkshire teams see themselves. From my experience, all clubs (Leeds, Wednesday, Sheff Utd, Rotherham…. Not played Barnsley for a while so can’t comment about them) have done the “Yorkshire, Yorkshire” chant and portray how great the county is but then follow it up by singing about how much they hate every other club from Yorkshire. Always intrigues me.

Must be odd living in a place with no real football rivals in the county, do you even have rivals or are you too middle class for that

Do some research before writing such a silly post.
