Mansfield started the game really well and found themselves with a deserved early goal from Lee Gregory shock horror - Out of nowhere Stockport score a real high quality goal around the 20 mark, disappointing from Bowery to let their lad cross it in but the assist and finish was very good.

25 in and we get what looked like a very soft penalty but it was well saved by their GK, Evans retaking the lead later on, 2-1 should be 3-1 but a well deserved lead at HT.

Second half was pretty much all Stockport with the ball but no idea how to break down Mansfield creating hardly anything at all, a well deserved away win.

Starting to believe there's actually truth in the rumours that Clough legally owns David "Dave" Challinor as an entity.

What's up with Mullin this season, Wrexham fans? Seen in the last couple of matchday threads you lads saying you've got no good strikers.

Had spinal surgery in the summer. Lost any pace he had since and we've clearly made a chkace for him to be fair.
Think Haaland would struggle to score the way we play

sure that went down like a cup of cold sick with the Exeter fans
was a 35 yarder....lol
Punted it into the box and everyone including the keeper missed it
We never equalised until the 88th min.....Better display but again the system is holding us back

Yep it's not easy for strikers to shine the way we play. We've signed a load deemed not good enough since the takeover and they can't all be that bad. Dalby is the top scorer in the SPL ffs

The fact we are in the promotion race with a combined 5 goals all season from Palmer and Mullin is remarkable.

On the other hand, Lee Gregory and Will Evans is a proper frontline, compliment each other so well.

One of the few things that gives me hope that we may still snatch second is your resolute commitment to the 1-0.

How many games have Wrexham now won 1-0? Must be getting on for a record!
Six 1-0s in the league.

Parky's 1000th game in management won in the grand manner. Keep it tight and bring the old man of the sea on at the end to win it.

Like the bolton game. stockport could still be playing now and not have scored.

Sickener but what do you expect when you defend so badly. Crama at fault for the first, not sure what happened for the second, it was in the middle of an announcement on racist abuse. According to our forum it was the Bolton fans abusing Magennis.
Sad day all around

As for us, seeing that Stevenage have only scored 3 goals and conceded 8 away from home this season, and their last 2 away games ended 0-0, I expected us not to be able to break them down.

I thought Stevenage had the best of the first half, us the 2nd. We both had a goal disallowed and Wickens saved well from Piergianni header. Stevenage as you would expect, very organised, hard to break down and playing for the set pieces. Makama had our best chance towards the end when we managed to get in behind, where he blazed over. Tough afternoon, but a bit more promise than was seen on Wednesday.

Did not like the ref today, some of his decisions were very bizarre.

Overall, a very disappointing Christmas period since we saw promise against Reading 2 weeks ago. 1 point from 4 games and 0 goals scored.

Let's see what the January window and break from League action for 2 weeks

Stockport County.
Mansfield deserved to win. They were sharper first half and we didn't have the quality to break them down second half. They're a very hard working, diligent side.

They did catch us on a bad day from our perspective with injuries and absentees but I can't begrudge them their win.

proper performance from us there, basically we’re sitting back and come prove you’re good enough to break us down - put it simply - it wasn’t happening, no way through.

To say we finished the game with a player who’s played (and started the game) in defence and a midfield highlights the determination the side has to fight for each other but also the manager.

I did like stockport around the box and had some neat moves first half and the goal was well worked, if not disappointing from our perceptive as i think it was bowery (the lad who ended uptop at the end) who lost his man.

Stockport were like Bolton, too weak in the challenge and fell over too easily, though i’d be intrigued to have another look at the Deji challenge late in the first half as it did look a tad dodgy!

Being carried by a pensioner with 1 knee. Super Steve

That was awful though.
Need a forward and some pace in Jan
We'd have been out of sight today with a decent striker and some creativity behind them. Rathbone has been our best player of late, superb signing.

We was worthy winners against the Shrews for our second half performance, where we created the better chances and Keeley in our goal had nothing to do until the very end.

Shrews were as expected difficult to get at and break down, forced numerous set plays in the first half and tried to get us turned with balls over the top, but they lacked an awful lot of firepower and know how in the final third, I don't remember them getting a clear chance.

Goal was a bit lucky, no way should Donley's shot beat Blackman (who apart from that moment had a good game) from that angle. After that apart from stoppage time, we managed the game well I thought and should've had a second goal.

Injuries have racked up for us the last week now, Agyei out today along with Happe and Ball and Ollie O'Neill also went off injured so the weeks break is welcome for us.

Shrews were organised and their gameplan generally worked, they just had very little quality in the final third which unless addressed will likely see them go down.

good strikers are like gold dust at the best of times, and it's even worse in the January window, especially if you are down at the arse end of the table.

Richard Dobson (Shrews #2 and ex-ours also) has a good eye for a rough diamond, but they need someone who can hit the ground running.

Closest team i have seen play Evatts barmpot way. You knocked it around at the back and created nothing, we knocked it around at the back and created nothing
You knocked it long once and scored, we knocked it long twice and got the two goals.
We have always had our fair share of idiots. One is being investigated by the police for saying something on x about Evatt that crossed all boundaries.....Magennis will always get pelters for what he did when at Bolton, but you cannot excuse that!!

Wouldn't have complained about a nil nil but defending was too bad. No idea how Mitchell went past your 5 either.
Oh well, probably see you again next season

Another dire game at Huddersfield , probably a fair result 2 shit teams and nil nil probably summed up the entertainment.
We have got a bang average team in a bang average division . Playoffs a possible route to gain promotion but not good enough for automatics . Fear for us if we get promoted as the championship will rip us apart. We have zero goal threat but most teams in this division don’t.

Would be interested to know the fitness levels of the other teams players, just listened to Wellens interview after todays game - we've won 5 in a row and yet he was very annoyed because we've lost around 5 players in a week to injuries due to 3 games in 6 six days and he hinted at not being able to prioritize next weeks cup game with Derby.

We've lost loads of players.

We play too many games in this period. Did anyone need or want the new years day game?

A truly awful performance from us today, the worst of the season for me, we could and probably should have got a draw but I’m glad we didn’t as surely monk has to go now not as though I think he’s entirely the problem, the last 2 managers haven’t been able to bring their own back room staff and have had to work with what’s already here.

Regarding today’s performance, it was the total opposite of reading, no press, no cohesion and very little football being played, for the first time we looked a proper relegation side.

Also the worst officiating I’ve seen this season and by 2 different refs that’s quite something, haven’t a clue what rovers 2nd goal was disallowed for, both refs seemed to chance every decision.

UIE.

Santos is either Superb or average, he has been outfoxed two games running, but he has more good games than bad
Impressed with Mitchell always looked a threat.
Still think we will get play-offs because the league is not that good

what sort of reception does Ferguson get from your fans?
He was sitting in the stand with his dad so there was nothing to do really. Is he on a touchline ban?

He's a legendary player for us in most people's eyes. One of the best I've seen play for us and we should have made him manager all those years ago and we never would have ended up in the Conference.
