Davies will have his first proper challenge as a manager now. The blueprint is there for other teams, mark Paik and Iwata out the game and Birmingham have no plan B, they created nothing. It's easy to call it a rare off day but to get it so tactically wrong against a side off the back of 3 woeful performances should be a bit of a concern.

I think it's fair to say May is a big ego so coming to Charlton, barely touching the ball, being booed and getting hooked at HT will sting. Play him every game and he will score 30 goals this season but that's all he will do and the rest of the gameplay will be limited as a result. He'll be on the ropes now, especially as he's on a poor run by his standards so will probably look to shoot every time he gets the ball rather than pass and work it.

As already mentioned, the most ironic thing about Davies' comments was that we spent 1/20th of what they did and the only reason we were able to do that is because they paid £750k for one of our players.

For us, consistency is the clear issue. We reverted to less hoof ball and it worked well. Birmingham passing the ball around the back also suited us as the press seems to be our strong point.

Full credit to you guys man, no complaints from me, well beaten. in hindsight, Leonard should have at least been subbed on for either Paik or Iwata, move May up top and have stansfield in behind but alas, im not the manager.

Props to Charlton a fully deserved win, first trip to the Valley and apart from the game in enjoyed the day.

I can understand the desire to play Stansfield up top but it does completely nullify May, whereas at least Stansfield can play that role behind. Was surprised but pleased May went off because he can always get a goal out of nowhere

Its one of them, stanno has said in the past he is happy to play in behind, but then again if we create nada nothing absolutely zilch its a moot point, your defs wont have an easier game all season imo

Bolton are a fragile team. I wouldn't be surprised if we finished above you. You where crying in your milk 2 weeks ago. Evatt out this. Pathetic so early on. You've shut up since ain't ya.
Love visiting these posts..........This one was early Oct when they played Mansfield
Did he actually call me pathetic because i wanted shot off Evatt so early after they sacked Critchley in August.
We are not good but we are a country mile better than Blackpool and we will climb as the season goes on.
Blackpool will do well to stay in the division
