I think and thought before Tuesday's collapse we would lose this I'm going 2-1 Chesterfield
What happened Tuesday? Surely just a freak result given your start

Few changes tomorrow, Thompson in for Boot, Araujo back in and Dobra, Markanday, Banks all coming in too I reckon

Not nonsense really. In the last 8 years Donny have won 5-1, 3-1 and 5-1 at Grimsby. I doubt many teams have performed that badly against any other team in League 2 over that time.
Yeah, they've done well on those few visits, I'm not denying that. I'm referring specifically to the 34 years part though. We didn't play them at home in the league for the first 26 or 27 seasons of that so let's not dress it up like a ridiculous period of domination. It's just three matches in the last decade or so.

478 pre sold for Crewe tomorrow, pretty good.

I've always considered it a bogey ground and it was for a good 30 years, but looking at recent results there and we've actually won 5 of the last 10 visits so perhaps not that bad after all. Similar injury news to midweek I think in terms of the long termers, but Hutton should come back in at right back and Dack should be on the bench having missed the midweek fixture as was always planned.

Not sure we'll make a whole heap of changes, I'd personally make 3 - Hutton, Lapslie and Gbode in for Coleman, Williams and Nolan, with a little reshuffle in midfield. Nevitt will be keen against his former club and with the pace and energy of Clarke, Lapslie and Gbode in behind him I think we could have some joy in forward areas. McKenzie and Little has been our best midfield combination so far so I'd revert to that, with Coleman and Dieng available to switch it up from the bench if needed.

Morris
Hutton - Ehmer - Ogie - Clark
McKenzie - Little
Gbode - Lapslie - Clarke
Nevitt

Ashby-Hammond, Hawkins, Dieng, Dack, Nolan, Williams, Wyllie

Had to leave out Coleman, Euan Williams and Wakeling which is a bit harsh, but that's the depth of the squad. Lord knows what Bonner will do when Turner, Masterson, Rowe and Andrews are back in contention as well.

1-1

What’s the latest on Hawkins and Laps then? The latter was made available to leave I seem to recall, not surprised he did not leave considering what he’s earning.

Both were made available, nothing happened with either. Lapslie has actually turned up this season though, been one of our better players and suits Bonner's system far better than previous managers.

He is quite a unique player Lapslie, he was best at Mansfield in almost a #10 role. Glad to hear he is doing well.

Rumours Stockley is injured now, if that’s true we are mega screwed as he’s key to how we play, especially without Byers controlling the midfield.

That would be very bad. Basically our upturn in form coincided with him and Byers starting. We've got no chance if that's the case.

Nope as no one to hold it up, no one to tick possession over so we are back to Barrow away levels. Add in likely no BBB either can see a 3 to 4-0 loss if that’s the case.

You aren’t going to control midfield/possession against us anyway, no one ever does, especially at home. I don’t know much about that Vale team but legs to press us into mistakes and then pace on the counter is generally what beats us.

Looking forward to today, got a bit of big game feeling about it!

Grimsby haven’t beaten Donny at BP in a league game for 34 years! There have been a couple of hammerings in there too.

Hopefully a close, competitive game this time. Doubt it will be 0-0.
You’ll be fine, now you’re called Milan

Fucking hell alright, didn’t realise we had Pep’s 2010 Barca side in league 2 with us

Whether it makes us any good or not is up for debate, it did two years ago and it didn’t really last year, but it isn’t controversial to say we always dominate possession at home.

I’d fancy our midfield to compete with any at this level it’s what we paid the big bucks for but the lynchpin of that is out today so what it means is we have an exceptionally good attacking midfielder in Garrity in the holding role along with Croasdale so we don’t have the quality then of Byers on the ball. Two very good midfielders but very unbalanced playing together (the fact Garrity who got 10 in a poor l1 side before new year last season is playing there is another debate but shows what we do have in the 10 position I guess).

Essentially no Byers and Stockley seemed to end up with us going long to a 5 foot something Ruari Paton and your big centre halves will gobble that up and we lose the threat from crosses we possess with Jayden. BBB missing loses the pace on the break.

It’s the equivalent now of you being without Jones, Jatta and Crowley together essentially which makes a tough but likely competitive game much harder for us.

Unsurprisngly, an unchanged lineup for us from midweek. Not really a massive amount of options for us. Hopefully they're not knackered after a few long journeys and high energy performances.

Who says Benicio is out for this game? Moore at his press conference said he had a personal issue he was dealing with and was now back with the squad.

Ideally could do with Byers as things just look more fluid with him there but we’ve paid a lot of money for this squad so it’s up to Moore to do his bit and set the team up accordingly. Basically no excuses here, they’re without arguably their best player also.

Garrity was quality against us a few weeks ago, in fact I personally thought he outshone Byers even though he got the MOTM

I seem to remember Banksy and Oldaker spraying it about for fun on our last visit to ML

He was told to deal with Dobra and pretty much went with him to the loo if I recall but he is more of an attacking midfielder, scored 28 goals in 3 seasons for us! Ideally the option would have been Ojo to cover Byers but we loaned him out! Attitude not the best but still would be one of the best in this level.

As said above though we’ve paid a lot of money for this squad so it’s on Moore to find the solutions. The depth is ridiculous but we can’t be set up unbalanced to accommodate.

I’ve got wrong man, I meant Chislett. But, Garrity still looked a bit of a monster out there but everyone does up against 5 ft fuck all Dobra

Should have been 2-0 for Donny there. Sharpe missing an open net pretty much.

Could Donny not have worn their away kit for this one?

Fucking hell, shocking start. We need to cancel all our Sky games.

You remind me of us when we played you earlier in the season. Been impressed by you this season too. Off day?
