Oldham are a good away side so will expect to beat vale. We haven't beat them at home since Jack grimmer scored in a 1 nil win in 2014.

Still have nightmares about that absolutely disgraceful 1-4 at home a couple of Christmas ago! We do better there than at VP.

Anyway, Morecambe v Carlisle. Are you as bad as you lot keep saying?
We are inconsistent - can be brilliant and take teams apart or can be dull and disinterested. I think that's a lot to do with Adams sticking with the same players and sometimes they look absolutely knackered and can't put two passes together. Because of your recent record I'm expecting a win BUT that expectation has happened so often this season and then we bang in a mediocre/shite performance I don't feel as confident as I should. I just hope you're as demoralised as some of you lot say.
Hoping for a +2 goal win
Pretty much; the players' heads are just gone. We'll start games relatively tentatively and maybe find a bit of rhythm but as soon as we concede a goal you can see them thinking 'here we go again' and we just crumble.

It's all morale and it seems as well that players who are playing through slight twinges, as soon as the morale goes then their ability to play through that also goes. Callum Guy for example, is relatively fragile but when we were winning it was never an issue, no genuine injuries that would force him off he'd just come out of a tackle second best and then run it off. Now though in that situation, although it's still not a bad injury the same sort of tackle will see him limping around the pitch for the rest of the game or until we take him off. I'm not saying he's become weak or that he doesn't want to play, just that those sort of soft-tissue injuries hurt more when you're not full of adrenaline from how well you're playing. It's not just Guy either, rarely a match goes by where we aren't forced into a substitution as someone hobbles off the pitch, only for Beech to later confirm he isn't injured and will be available for the next game.

We've developed a really bad habit of giving away needless penalties too which might be a sign of panic from the low morale; defenders who should know better (we had the best defensive record in the division before February) are lunging in when there's absolutely no need for it and making sure that even the most hopeless of opponents get that goal they need to get thier tails up and causes ours to go down.

If you put in a good performance then you will win, we'll match you for a bit but as soon as you score we'll collapse. If you are dull and disinterested then we might look on top for a good chunk of the game and kid ourselves into believing that our poor run is about to come to an end, though little chance of us racing into a 2-0 lead the way we did at our place this season. However even if you aren't threatening our goal, at some point you'll have the ball within the penalty area and we'll concede a penalty, and that will change everything.

Yet another defensive injury with Cargill out with concussion, Stokes is unlikely to be fit so we're down to the bare bones with players out of position in defence and none that are over 6ft available which might be a problem what with Grimsby having James Hanson up top.

The hope is we can outscore Grimsby, which should be possible if we keep our fucking shots down rather then constantly ballooning everything over the bar.

It's hard to win if you don't outscore the opposition, to be fair.

Full time Morecambe 3 - 1 Carlisle

Carlisle take the lead through Alessandra in the first half before conceding a penalty which is scored by Cole Stockton. From there on it's one-way traffic and John O'Sullivan puts Morecambe ahead with a wonderstrike before Stockton makes the points safe for Morecambe.

I'll be revisiting this comment later to see how right I am.

True, the point is we conceded a few against both Southend and Stevenage and lost both heavily, so we might have to score a few if we want a result.

Could go either way this one, if we get hammered again then our promotion hopes will be fading given you would hope to get more then 0 points and 3 heavy defeats from a triple header of Southend, Stevenage and Grimsby. Tougher looking games coming up after this, so need to get back on track with or without a defence.

2 quick, early goals for the Grecians.
Makes a refreshing change.

Already Exeter 2-0 in the 13th minute.
We've been embarrassing.
Ridiculous keeper howler from us to let the 2nd in.
Oh well, we'll be waiting in mid table until next season where we might have a chance.

Don't think I've seen us play this badly so far this season, we're making exeter look better than they are.
So many unforced errors.

Wow that's exactly the way I predict the match will go too! :ohm:

I wonder how we think so similar..

Orient the worst team I have seen since Colchester. Though there is still the second half.

Our team is absolutely shocking today, I have no idea what Cox is thinking unless he's wanting to rest players

This could be ugly

Bare bones XI today, Mills in, Hurst has to start. Injuries are killing us, won’t create much so down to the lads at the back.

Hurst has seen all the fans saying we have been too defensive so has said fuck you all and starting with one CB and put the Shop as captain!

We've put out arguably our strongest line up. Pitch looks patchy but no excuses. Can't afford to lose today I don't think. Would take a point now as I'm not massively confident of taking 3.

One change Isgrove comes in for fonz
Cooke gets the nod over Rowe
Expecting them to hammer us first 10 then we will grow into the game

If we can keep them out first ten we will win

I think Hewitt is an excellent choice at CB personally, he was very good there against Scunny.

FGR - I read that you were struggling for defenders, is the side you’ve put out reflective of that? Can’t tell

Think 10 mins might be pushing it. Think if it's level after 60/70 we have a great chance. We score so many late goals and have great fitness levels. Been reading a few Bradford fans saying they've looked leggy last few games.

Agreed which is why I think 60/70mins when we bring on the likes of fonz ...if it's at least level we have a great chance. If we do win it I will really start to believe...
