Got exactly what we went for looking at that performance.

Impressed with Bolton, particularly off the ball - didn’t give us any time to play our game and pressed really well.

Either side could have nicked it, Bolton had majority of the play which was expected. Neither side should be disappointed with that imo.

Pain having the skipper suspended for the Ipswich match though!

Normally I’d be delighted with that performance and a point against top. I thought we were really good today but just missing the goal. Problem is we are running out of opportunities to close that gap to the top 3 so it’s harder to take.

Im concerned by us. Earlier in the season, we were winning away from home so the draws at home were less of a problem. We've now lost 4 (?) away league games on the bounce. Whilst we battle at home, it feels we are being dragged towards the relegation battle.

2 positives today - we kept 11 players on the pitch, and we actually scored and made a game of it after going 2-0 down.

A massive transfer window and 2nd half of the season. Away to MK next, followed by Burton and Cambridge at home. We have to start winning!!

By far the better side today, we need to be more clinical in front of goal.

Play like that between now and the end of the season, we’ll comfortably make the playoffs.

People often say the standard of football in L1 is garbage, I disagree. I think it’s a cracking league this season with a number of strong sides. Setting up to be an excellent second half to the season for those in the promotion hunt.

Take that. Always going to give up chances away to 5th in the league. Sounds like we had a couple chances to steal all 3 points.

Another point gained. Our home form has been so good up to now that going to places like Bolton and grinding out a point, is no bad thing at all!

Sounds like Ben Waine was a threat when he came on, and Matete brought plenty of energy. Big game next week.

See Jay Matete has gone out on loan to you lads. Wish him well, young player loads of skill, great going forward and sure he will be good for you

Very disappointing not to score today as I think one goal would have been enough, we had 5 incredible chances and only one of them on target, the Aimson header chance should have been buried. amongst others. Same most matches, we cannot get the ball in the net or even on target from the simplest opportunities, On the plus side Plymouth were limited to very few attacks and maybe only one decent chance near the end when Aimson made amends and cleared off the line.

Watching Sky Sports News this afternoon, the reporter repeatedly said it was a great advert for League One. They always seem surprised that football exists outside the Premier League

Good side Bolton, pressed us from the off and limited our time on the ball in the middle which completely disrupted our forward momentum. We were very fortunate that Boltons strikers seemed inept of putting the ball in the net, fortunately we walked away with a point which could be massive come May. Impressed with Waine and Matete when they came on. Onto the big one next week

Long gone are days when lower league clubs are just long ball teams, despite an obvious drop in standard as you go further down the pyramid plenty of clubs now at least attempt to play football

Our best team was when we played an outrageous brand of route one that no one could cope with. There’s nothing to say lower league teams have to play possession football.

Our game today is another to add to the list of defeats where we should maybe have got more out of it. Defensive mistakes and lack of game management again result in a defeat.

Next week v Morecambe is huge.

Good result for Ipswich and Wednesday, that.

The signings this window are going to make for a hell of a second half to the season! Can honestly see a team missing out on autos even with 90/91 points!

Story of our season … don’t score enough. I think we are a goalscorer away from being a really good side…. But I suppose most teams would argue the same

Feel for Cambridge tbh, not a game they deserved to lose. Thought it was one of our worst games for a while tbh but thankfully for us Cambridge weren’t great. It’s wasn’t like they played particularly bad tbf, just one of those games when you’re at the bottom where no matter what - you still lose. A tough one to swallow for sure and we’ve all been there many times. Good luck to them in their bid to stay up, I’m confident they’ll do it

Yeah, after the slight uptick in October/November, we're regressing to more in line with what Lincoln fans felt in the summer.

It's a big transfer window because we have very few goals in attacking areas but crikey, our central midfield options without Virtue for 10 weeks is horrendous really. I'm not sure there's a combination in it that would work. Baffles me how we've got central midfield recruitment so wrong for 2 or 3 consecutive years.

We've got to find a way to pose more of a threat going forward. Not suggesting going gun-ho and opening up because we'd not be able to handle that but even trying two up front and going 5-3-2 rather than a 3-4-3 and sacrificing the wide players (and let's be honest, Diamond is the only decent wide player we have and he can play a little more centrally).
