Tough game at Barnsley. We won't have a manager by then so will carry on with Kevin Nicholson, who by all accounts did OK last night in the Abomination.
Possible that we may have one or two back from injury, so we might need them as we were poor against Rovers but got away with it.
Will be more than happy with a draw.
I still remember one of my first ever memories of City though. In the days when you could only find out scores by watching the telly, I turned into the local news to hear we were 3 down at half time at Barnsley.
Found out the next day we won 4-3, and went on to promotion that season. Happy days

We could do with something at Bristol Rovers, have lost four of our last five now.

Get in to Hillsborough, take our spanking, and move on I think. We've already got more points this month than expected, so we can afford to lose this one in preparation for the final four games of the month that will be crucial to our survival.

The Franchise at home for us.

We’re buggered and will be lucky to field a full bench. Only thing that might help us snatch a point will be if Marosi is given injections to play in goal over poppadom hands Burgoyne. Can see nothing but a comfortable defeat.

Games just get easier for us!

Derby Away, the third of three real tricky ones before a run of favourable fixtures in the main until Xmas, after this we only have Plymouth and Ipswich left before then of the top sides.

2700 Valiants heading down with it selling out in 24 hours or so for our first visit to Pride Park, our halcyon days in the 90's clashed with Derby in the Prem so avoided them for most of our time in the second tier.

Shame we couldn't get the extra allocation as the demand is high and would have probably another 1000 or so easily.

Nice local one for me from NWL as well, fair few Derby down this neck of the woods.

Going to be a real tough game, its rare to see us as much as 4/1 to win a league game so shows the size of the challenge but one we should enjoy, we've been competitive in most games against the top sides bar Peterborough so hopefully we can battle hard and fall the right side of this one.

Another "Free hit" and would happily take a point, we havent won a league game in Derby for 101 years apparently! although the abiding memory for most Vale fans is the FA Cup giant killing in the early 90's at the Baseball Ground.

Barnsleh away, would take a point.

Never know with this team though, especially after the gaffer leaving. Can see either a 5-0 loss or a shithouse 1-0 win.

Freefall...and you were getting so excited when you went above Posh for the first time in decades
Look out here they come!
What a fantastic name, really imaginative and must have taken a really long time to think that one up.

See you at the end of the month.

We are dire at the moment. Much worse than we should be with the squad we have. A draw wouldn'r surprise me (if can go without conceeding in the first quarter hour).

I just want us to go into a game showing a bit less respect to these big boys. Granted we might get a spanking, but this cautious approach is doing us no favours at times.

We're playing against another division 3 club who happen to have a few more people round the edge of the pitch. Just like Cheltenham showed last night, let's press and stop them playing and then do our own thing when we get the chance.

Be a great following there. I imagine there's only a handful of clubs who would take similar in this league and but for the police limiting the amount of away fans, we could have taken a lot more.

We've had a heinous first dozen fixtures, so to be out of the bottom 4 is good. We look like we have the beating of some of the lower sides, so hopefully we'll find out between now and Christmas.

Bolton are going to expect us to be shite. It would be very rude of us as hosts to disappoint them.

In all seriousness though, the hope is that we actually start addressing some of our defensive issues during the week and at the very least make sure we’re harder to score against. There is no reason why we can’t get better without the ball. Need to be prepared to press and get in their faces, stay tight as a unit and don’t leave gaps everywhere.

I went the last Vale match against Derby. One of my earliest matches. 1-1 draw at Vale Park in 1996. Tony Naylor scored for Vale and Dean Sturridge for Derby.

Never seen us play Derby, have been Pride Park with my mate who is a Leeds fan in a cup game a few years back though.

Should be good, hopefully with the SVA making some good noise! See a handful more went on sale tonight so imagine they went quick, some on Facebook begging for tickets.

Derby away - big game for us. The type of games we want to be playing regularly. Loads after tickets, probably could have sold another 1k tickets.

Let’s go there, make some noise and give them a few problems to think about. No point defending all game and end up losing anyway.

More than a handful of clubs in this league will sell it derby.
Oxford did. Wednesday, Ipswich, Bolton, us, Barnsley, Pompey, and anyone else who is doing well - posh or Lincoln.
It’s not far from anywhere and an attractive day out so will pull more fans in.

I agree about Wednesday, Ipswich, Bolton and maybe Pompey but Barnsley don't travel well, nor do Posh, Lincoln maybe if they were doing well. Would you sell out? I know it's close but you don't take 3k anywhere do you?

Lincoln might surprise you.
We sold out last time it was a Saturday- I was there.
And on occasions we do come out the woodwork on numbers. 3400 to Doncaster and 3000 to Cambridge ( both promotions)

Which is an amazing following. And all things considered is better than what anyone else will do.
I remember going to home park and on the way back ( which seemed to last forever in the rain ) thinking that you did this shit every other week.

We're now averaging just over 2 goals per game, more than any other side in the league. So Morecambe who are averaging conceding 2+ and averaging scoring less than .5 goals a game should be be a shoe in, right? We all know football is never that simple!

How's the Morecambe pitch holding up?

1-3

Don’t mean to be nasty but you can’t have had 3,000 at ours, it’s not been possible for any club since Fulham any Wigan in the 90s when we gave them the whole of the Habbin (shudder). 2,5k tops. That’s not to say however that you couldn’t have brought 3k mind.

2,300ish is what we sold out at your place at Xmas four years or so back and I don't think you'd have got much more than that available for away fans.

Home to Charlton.

Can't see us sticking with 3 at the back for this one to be honest. Bishop, Montsma, Davenport and Walsh will be out, Hopper missed the Bolton game as well. Mandroiu finally got some game time at Bolton but I'd be surprised if he started.

We're unbeaten at home, which sounds good but we've drawn three out of the four, letting leads slip in two of those.

Well after a few debates on here about local games v derbies, we add to the fun with the Not A Local Derby away to Oxford.

I’ve already mentioned this on here but this is a disproportionately big game for both sides, not because of the proximity of the two clubs but because both of us have started so poorly and are looking like less than the sum of their parts at present.

I’m predicting a draw from two sides likely to be nervy, low on confidence and afraid to really go for it, but if anyone *does* lose this one, it has to be terrible for team morale.

We’ve just had an absolute bitch of a run of games (Derby, Sheff Wed, Plymouth) and on paper, this looked like one of the more winnable games in that run - but OUFC will be seeing us as highly beatable too, and it’s hard to argue right now.
