Luke Young is rumoured to go either Notts or Walsall. I cant imagine Youngy being a Williams signing but I guess if you're desperate for midfielders and he's fallen down our pecking order and not much chance of first team football - would Notts take him? Always gives 100% and got a great corner on him (albeit you don't take 'proper' corners). Can ping a ball 60 yards if need be, but can also twat it 60 yards either out of play or straight to the opposition.

While Palmer is obviously vital to us, we did get battered in the second half by FGR, Swindon, and Mansfield with him on the pitch. The second half fiascos have been a feature all season so I’m not sure it’s just his absence.

This Williams team in the EFL shares some features with Burchnall’s in the national league. A tendency to cave when the going gets tough.

Was Palmers injury from when he played against us? It seems like he just couldn't keep up with Lee before he shot for the 1st goal? And what did he do...ACL?

Well that's one way of looking at it, just isolating the season halves. As you know we were 2-0 up at HT against FGR and 3-0 up against Swindon. The first half batterings and being 2/3 goals up made us soft as we knocked it down a gear in the second half. So common in football when dominating at the half way point. Damage already done.

The Mansfield was different, and was just a typical (non)performance in the Nottinghamshire derby.

We have been a one half side virtually all season we have just been fortunate when Palmer is in the side and we play well as a team we are well on top largely due to him keeping us ticking over. He's been the most consistent Notts player I can remember for about a decade or more.

No point trying to spin it, huge loss because he's a L1 quality player who was out most important player for the way we play.

Yep, did his ACL and had to come off just after that goal.
