I do wonder whatever happened to cufc17, he used to post here loads. If we had him and Big Dave back I reckon we could take Mansfield.
Maybe currently, but not a fully fit Mansfield in Year of the Stag mode, in my opinion. You weren't down in the Conference in 12/13. Pure devastation.

Not even with Carver making a preemptive strike to leave them devastated before they even leave home and hopefully knock their biggest threat, Spanish Stag out of the fight altogether?

Carlisle just haven't got the numbers on here to contend with Mansfield when they are going full bull, however they're not quite there yet if Adam Stag is still talking about the relegation spots, so there is hope for the Cumbrians.

i started watching mansfield in the mid 90s when basically every season was dodging relegation, still believe in getting to that magic 50 points, which we actually haven’t done in 2 seasons back up and actually still stayed up.

I guess it’s just something that stuck. who’s the really negative carlisle fan? is it hello gregory? whoever it is i bet they’re hating this season haha

We’ll be putting out the youth team on Saturday at this rate. Not much to be bullish about even for an optimist like me.

why, what’s going on? covid or just injuries m?

I think he's rather enjoying a break from predicting relegation to predicting missing out on the playoffs instead.

Although you know if at any point we start to look like a shoe in for automatic promotion he'll switch to predicting our relegation straight back down from League One in 2021/22

We have four players out with covid, only three of those are seniors, the other is one of the first year pros who, according to Beech, played against Walsall.

No indication who those players are, so it could just see us missing one or two first team players. HG of course is pessimistically assuming that we'll have more positive tests between now and Saturday and it'll all be key first team players affected.

surely if that’s the case though you can just call the game off like stevenage, scunthorpe etc have done?

by the looks of it mansfield’s had plenty of snow so far today so might be off anyway.

Also our groundsman appears to have gone on strike this season, it looks like several hundred horses have been put out to pasture on it

Not for just missing three first team players I don't think... in any case, having already had Harrogate (twice) and Orient postponed, we haven't played since the 2nd of January and will probably want to get this played.

One is from the north east so I’m thinking either Farman or Mellish

More must have tested positive today. Can't see it being postponed if just 4 players were missing.

I had you down as one of the more bullish of the Mansfield fans, but I wasn't there during the original year of the stag.

Do you mean you're nearly a pensioner, or you're nearly pro-European?

Our biggest threat back then was a legitimate boardroom in the known poster called Jumping John, might have even been JR himself.

Jumping John please return!

Spanishstag nice friendly poster in the day, but get a cheap lager or five in him and he forgets how to use the quote button properly and gets stuck into anyone that is up for an argument. My kind of poster.
