Impressed with Jackson , I thought he would have been gone about a year ago - it's shown a bit of patience and continuity can get you quite far in this league - think you are a good bet for play-offs tbh . With us it's key we get our injured players back soon as i think it will catch up with us - any good bars near the ground for away fans?
Any of the pubs at Tooting Broadway should be fine. There's a spoons opposite Tooting Broadway and others as well. I don't drink in pubs much so I don't know anything about them.

I'd recommend The Halfway House near Earlsfield station and the Leather Bottle nearer the ground. Both excellent

And both very expensive. Both pubs were within walking distance of my home until I moved away in 2004. The Leather Bottle is worth visiting due to its history (18th century or earlier) and its unique garden. The Halfway House had the best pub quiz in the area.

I second this. Earlsfield is a decent place with a couple of other half decent pubs. One by the station called 'The Earlsfield' is alright too...part of the old station. 10/15 minute walk to the ground and the station has trains every 8/10 minutes into Waterloo (10 minute train ride).

As London goes it's a nicer part.

Most pubs in London are expensive nowadays sadly. I went for 3 days last week and found a place near Aldgate with £4.20 pints...couldn't believe it! Everywhere else is £6.50 minimum.

Earlsfield is lovely. The only reason I moved out was because I was ready to buy a house but couldn't afford the prices. I live 4 miles further out.

You are not alone in that assessment.
One dire year, one almost there but stimied by selling our best player.

It's a combination of JJ learning and Craig Cope's amazing ability to source the best players with limited funds. I'd argue that we'd cope without JJ but we couldn't without Craig Cope or Ashley Bayes, our goalkeeping coach.

It's all expensive when coming down from the North or Midlands. Once you've paid for your ticket and you've made the journey down to SW London a few extra quid shouldn't at the pre match pub shouldn't really be a factor.

Traditionally around football grounds are shit holes, and modern out of town types branded and soulless. Earlsfield is neither, quite the opposite. One to be enjoyed before a tough fixture.

England v Aus at Twickenham tomorrow pubs and trains will be busy around Waterloo.

I’m going down tonight - staying with a Scunny fan down there - got a good deal on First Class Advance with the senior railcard

Nags Head in Peckham and George Canning by Denmark Hill station both do pints for under £4

Know absolutely zilch about this lot but probably another side that’ll come and park it and time waste at every opportunity as has been the case in most of our home games so far this year. Fingers crossed it’s more open than that mind, but even if it’s not it’s up to us to be more clinical the same way we have been away from home.

Would be nice to see us win one as I’m getting a bit bored of the home draws now…

Not sure on our team news yet so I’ll wait till after Cooks presser on Friday before I try predicting an XI. But what I do know is that Tanton is back after the 60 mins he got vs Horsham in the cup, and Fleck too after his 25 minute spell but I think this will come one game too early for a start, so that’s positive! But Colclough has his court hearing on Thursday so that could be less so… we will see.
Coming back to this then. Cooks not ruled anyone out for tomorrow, but didn’t say anything about the lads who have been out recent weeks with knocks either (Dunkley, Boot). I have a feeling they’ll both be back available so would go with this for my predicted XI:

Thompson
Tanton Dunkley Araujo Gordon
Naylor Oldaker
Markanday Dobra Colclough
Grigg

Boot (GK)
Fleck
Banks
Mandeville
Jacobs
Berry
Madden

Would mean no place in the squad for the likes of Metcalfe, Grimes & Jones etc which just shows the depth we have in this squad.

Think we're a better side than Fleetwood. Still plenty of players missing through injury though. 1-1.

A return to Highbury of Graham Alexander and he should get a warm reception from the Fleetwood fans. It was his first managerial appt after retiring playing and in his first season
with Fleetwood the team finished 10th, as near as damn it in league 2 - a fine effort
Tbh not expecting to much tomorrow, we are still struggling at the back with injuries and not too much fire power up front. I can see another draw 2-2

The closer this gets, the more I feel like it's a game too far. Ours and Gills runs have to come to an end some time and it just feels that the FA Cup week might stall our momentum. That, combined with injuries in midfield, make me concerned.

It's the sort of game historically that Vale would lose, so if we were to sneak a win, it would really make a statement, particularly with those below us playing each other.

In spite of 8 wins out of 10, and 5 wins on the bounce, I still can't be confident!

Damn. I was in Aldgate yesterday and am there every few months or so, so I’m surprised I don’t know it. Where was it?

To be fair you can get some great deals in the Brick Lane curry houses not from there
