The Wrexham and Notts County love affair continues, both hand in hand in their promotion by miles and now hand in hand in their relegation by miles!

Is everyone in Carlisle as weird as you? Why do you care?

I think all Carlisle fans are weird or suicidal. Must be down to being so isolated from everyone.

I find it entertaining how you splashed 250k on a 34 year old winger on 12k a week when you could have had Omari Patrick back on a free on next to nothing a week and he is currently tearing Notts County to shreds.

Hollywood owners haha

Climate change disaster in North America as a multitude of Wrexham shirts are being burned. Danger the sun could be blocked out.

I'd have very happily had Patrick back, like him a lot.

I wouldn't believe the 250k and 12k a week rumours tbh. Whatever we are paying McClean, or paid Wigan for him (who had already told him that he wasn't getting a contract extention) it's not going to be put in public.

Dons absolutely clinical and that's the biggest difference in the leagues. Plenty to learn from this, and a few first team players missing today.

Not going to get too downhearted, it's a long season.

Three of the supposed big hitters - Wrexham, Notts County and Stockport - all lose. Those fancied - Mansfield, Bradford, Donny, Walsall and Tranmere - fail to win.

Great start for Gills and MK Dongs. As we thought, it’s going to be a long, hard slog.

Tranny equalised through a Hawkes Pen, but a Kian Spense screamer gave Barrow the points.

Lost to Crawley 1-0. Only one game but based on that we look a bottom-six side. Can't be arsed with Hughes anymore. People screaming for continuity and not sacking managers but whatever. Bloke isn't getting us out of this league.

Another one of our crazy games that we like to have. 3 goals flattered us I thought but we won't play many better teams than that all season.

Some of their finishing and skill was a joke, Eisa beat 6 players for his goal.

First league defeat at home since Nov 2021.

Penalty aside, no real clear cut chances for either side at BP. Encouraging for Eastwood to save a pen and rebound on his debut and all new signings okay. Rodgers and Maher look like a solid partnership at the back going off that. Was a decent pace to the match, but lacked any proper quality. Poor delivery in general from us but some tidy build up play. Said in pre-season that I'm not sure Danny Rose is a focal point lone striker in a three alongside Eisa and Vernam and I saw nothing to dissuade me there.

Wimbledon were solid and defended well. Al Hamadi looked dangerous but lacking composure, might have been a different story had he not had his pen saved. Seemed to carry a threat from corners, think they'll score a few as the season goes on.

Fair result all in all.

It gave a bit of a gloss to a game where we were soundly beaten by a better side.

That said, get our first choice defence back, and Mullin back and we will be fine.

Oh and send Waters back to Barrow. Terrible. Bickerstaff did more in the half hour he was on.

Called this on our forum the other day...

I think if they encounter problems they'll be at the back, especially if Hayden gets injured again. Despite how dominant they have been over the last couple of years, they seemed to get sucked into these epic free scoring matches all too often. Which is fine when it's happening at home to Barnet or Dover but as we saw in our semi, if that happens against better opposition it doesn't always result in a 6-5 win.

We battled but lacked enough quality. Salford did a professional job on us, ended up fairly comfortable for them. Bolton v Robson was a mismatch.

McAllister will be good at this level though.

You have the added advantage of one less stand allowing more natural light coverage of the playing surface. That's gotta help.

Seeing a fine looking pitch post winter is still a bit of a shock to me Marvellous Meadow La

I went to the RCG 20 years ago. You were League 1 but still only getting 2-3 thousand attendance.

Don't confuse being popular, with being a big club.

I think that is right, but get Hayden and Boyle back and we will be OK. At least we do have decent defenders at the club-- they just aren't fit.

Today is a good lesson to the players tbh. The majority of them have played at this level before so they should know the required level. Whether it was tiredness after the US trip (it shouldn't be) or complacency or whatever, it has to improve and I'm sure Parkinson will be making that point right now.

Watched us on Firestick. Kinda disappointed with the away draw even after playing most of second half with ten men. Mainly because we should really have been more than two up before Crewe scored and also because we were the better team for spells even after being a man down.

Was definitely a red card though, no issue there.

But then again a draw away first game of the season ain't a disaster is it. Better than if we'd have lost 5-1 or summat, for example.
