That would worry the shit out of me, a solid defence should be the absolute foundation if you have a struggling team - screw possession.
Last season our first choice back three were Udoka Godwin-Malife, Jordan Moore-Taylor and Bailey Cargill, they were pretty rock solid for most of the season...I think we had a run of something like six home games without conceding a goal, though that was when we looked like running away with the league. All three of them would be first choice in League One, that is what we started with, only problem is that two are currently out injured and their replacements aren't quite of the same standard. Christian Marquez does look pretty decent, but he is a loanee who was missing yesterday due to being away on international duty. We didn't really strengthen the defence during the summer and this seems to be coming back to bite us...unfortunately!

Should be a good game this.

Plymouth fans on their forum seem to hate Sam Morsy for whatever reason. Good club Plymouth so I wish them well after today but am intrigued to know why they’ve issued with our captain in particular if any Argyle fans on here know?

Accrington are the best club in the football league relative to what is expected of them
Yet teams like them FGR and Morecambe cannot expect to go any higher it will simply bankrupt them
Football fans simply wont/dont see that because we all believe we can go higher
Bollocks.
We got to the championship and stayed there - and we are as small as Accrington. It didn’t bankrupt us. We cut out cloth. It can be done.

We would have had a third season too had we not got cheated out of it by you. 5 minutes from staying up until or fondre scored.

No you never stayed there hence you are heading for Lge2 in less than six month time
Others like Yeovil have gone the same way
How can you pay 5 figure salaries on 5k Gate receipts
And how the fuck was you cheated out of it by a goal

Cheated out of the fact you went into admin after, and you had players you could not afford to pay or keep. Living beyond your means at that time.
And yep. We will be in league 2 next season.

clutching at straws........Our owner spent money in the ten years previous that he could afford yet the club could not
By the time we played Notts Forest all our top earners and management team had gone.........you got relegated fairly

Maybe because he's prone to cuntish tackles on occasions

Aye, he’s always had that side to him going back to when he came through at Vale. Micky Adams pretty much cast him out from us due to one he did against Rochdale. Probably his biggest mistake with us looking back on it now.

Such a high quality game and it's a goal like that which opens the scoring.

Anyone else struggling with a bit of a kit clash at times? Not sure whether it's my TV, eyes or Sky but the shirts all seem to merge into one at times.

Evans and Morsy a little lucky that their challenges, some refs would have sent Morsy off.

Tbf all 3 of JMT, Cargill & Dokes started against Ipswich where we were all over the place defensively in the first half, and both Cargill & JMT started at Sheffield Wednesday where Cargill in particular was awful, so not sure them being fit would make much difference tbh. Watching back the Sky punditry from yesterday they had loads of clips from different games this season highlighting how badly organised we are, gaps everywhere with easy weaknessess to exploit. That's more down to structure and coaching more then anything.

That ref likes to blow that whistle!

How Mumba didn’t get a booking is ridiculous considering the other bookings.

Good game, a lot better than last week! Can see why it’s a top of the table match

Morsy frustrates me, imo doesn’t have the mentality to be a captain

Decent half that. Massively missing burns down the wing. Best wing back in the league being out on international break would hurt a lot of teams but we play down the wings so it’s a huge loss. Jackson in there rather than Vincent Young was a bold shout though. Not sure it’s working so far.

Chaplin looking a class apart yet again. Some of those balls in behind were superb. The one early on that out Ladapo in was superb, albeit Freddie missed the one on one. His goal was fortunate to say the least.

I didn't go to Sheff Weds, although one of my friends said that we were particularly poor...OK, so he was a bit more direct than that but it is the gist of what he said. I did go to Charlton and felt that we had turned a bit of a corner, especially in the second half when we actually looked reasonably decent...unfortunately we followed that up with an injury time defeat to Morecambe and yesterdays shit-show. We have to try and cut out the Hollywood pass that always seems to find an opponent...that may not solve the problem completely but it would be a good starting point.

On the subject of yesterday's game, apart from a former player coming back to haunt us, I thought Caprice from Exeter looked pretty decent...covered a lot of ground, aggressive enough to intimidate whoever he was up against but not to a point where he risked a booking, hardly put a pass astray...would have been my MoTM, but you can't award it to an opponent.

Very enjoyable game and if anyone had to win then Plymouth was the best out of em for us.

Has Kierans wheel squared off*, 1 point from 6 after leading twice.....

*I'm kidding.

We lose to Plymouth on Tuesday week.
