Many, many, years ago we bought our first house (in Preston) through Oystons. I'm afraid I've put a few more quid their way and picked up my ticket today - I promise not to buy a hot dog and definitely won't be staying in the "stylish and modern"

Giving the World Fireworks Championship and famous illuminations a miss as well. Lancaster looks a better bet for my modest needs.

Bullishness is rising but I still travel more in hope than expectation. That said, one expectation is that we might see a start from Uche Ikpeazu and two of the better wingers in the league. One of the hopes is that Blackpool don't field a proper left winger but that forward line looks pretty impressive on paper - scored 5 in their last 2 home matches and turned over Portsmouth last time out in the echoey, eerily empty, embarassment that is Bloomfield Road these days. 2-0 U's, we'll smash the fuckers. Revenge for Cardiff and all that. Not going, don't think I'm going to make any away games til Christmas. Legge will be a big miss but I have faith in super Josh.

The big one for me this weekend is tomorrow at the Abbey. I've been mates with Joey for several years, I was at his wedding in May. Hopefully tomorrow will see plenty of people there and some significant funds raised for Shaun's rehabilitation.

Abandoned the fleshpots of Blackpool for a sophisticated saturday night out in Lancaster.

Draw seemed a fair result but we might have won it. Worldy free kick from the White Pele answered with a worldy free kick towards the end. They huffed and puffed but did't threaten the new back 4 much - although England's no 1 had to make a couple of quality saves in addition to the penalty and they also hit the bar. We essentially shut up shop once we'd scored (just about deserved on the balance of threats created if not overall play at that stage).

We had a few half opportunities on the break but didn't threaten much 'til Uche came on. Ref immediately had it in for him but he was still bullying the defence and holding up the ball effectively. Highlight of the half was when he nearly shot ball and keeper into the net from with a 5 or 6 yard cannonball shot (as in the Beano or Roy of the Rovers, for those of the right vintage) that left the keeper pole-axed and with a twisted ankle.

I wasn't there but it sounds like Blackpool would have been hard done by had we taken all three points. Gutted to concede so late but I would have taken a point before the game.

With Grimsby and Exeter coming up, I expect minimum 4 points.
