The VIP dining never featured any meat of dubious origins before when Country Quality Meats were our suppliers/sponsors. Paul Dowdeswell was a big fan and a director, treated like crap by Dale when he took over just because he didn’t approve of his business.

I would say the VIP dining is not a lot better now then it was then, despite costing a lot more to make and being delivered from much further afield. It does taste decent given it’s vegan tbf and gives people a chance to feel a bit smug/superior when eating it.

The food around the ground wasn’t great, but then it isn’t now either.
To be fair, I did hear about the issue you mention with Paul Dowdeswell and think Dale did come into the club like a proverbial bull in a china shop...he didn't care who he peed off and just cracked on with introducing his ideas. As someone who rarely eats red meat, and largely avoids pork products, the only thing I ever ate was the fish and chips...which were pretty good.

I doubt if many people go to football expecting to eat gourmet food, at least if you come to our ground you can be pretty sure that anything you eat will be safe if you follow a restrictive diet.

We’ve sold 3000 so on course to match or beat last years 4000 plus figure. Decent considering the season we had and the fact we haven’t discounted them for fans who had one last season.

A little over 1000 season tickets sold for Sutton now.
Just looked at our fixtures and all going well you might be the first visiting supporters to enjoy our new fanzone. Its a bit of an improvement on the old tent. Bradford City after that.

City’s chief executive officer, Ryan Sparks, has moved to update supporters on a number of club matters ahead of the Bantams’ return to training next week.

Close to 8,500 ‘Take Me Home’ season tickets have been sold at present, with the Utilita Energy Stadium ticket office open until the later time of 5.00PM TODAY (Saturday June 26).

Sparks writes: “First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 8,419 supporters who have already secured their ‘Take Me Home’ 2021/22 season ticket.

“With two weeks of the campaign remaining, we are on course to comfortably surpass the 10,000 mark and are optimistic at the prospect of running our 2019/20 season tally of 13,614 very close.

“Given where we are just now, and where we have been over the past 18 months, it is truly inspirational to be carrying such support into the coming campaign.

“A lot has changed over the past six months at Valley Parade, hopefully for the better, and the ‘Take Me Home’ campaign has represented that, and so much more. We have introduced modernised age categories, increased prices following consultation with close to 6,000 existing season-ticket holders and launched an innovative direct-debit scheme aimed at transforming annual membership in the long term.

“The most encouraging statistic to date reveals we have welcomed 1,422 new season-ticket holders. These are supporters who did not hold a season ticket during the 2019/20 season, making the closing stages of the ‘Take Me Home’ campaign all the more exciting.

“At present, more than 20% of supporters have taken up our direct-debit option - spreading the price of a season ticket across 12 months for no extra cost and without administration fees. This is beginning to allow us to change the way in which we operate.

“Over the coming years, we hope even more of you will find it convenient to leave behind the annual purchase and opt for what some may describe as a subscription service, similar to that offered by television or music-streaming platforms.

“This method allows for greater sustainability and improved flexibility around ticketing, while we enhance entry system operations at the Utilita Energy Stadium. From a financial control perspective, it has the potential to dramatically alter our usual cashflow forecasts for the better.

“We took the decision to remove the FLEXICARD option ahead of the coming season - in line with changes to our pricing structure and the introduction of new age categories. I am pleased to say that, of the 1,671 FLEXICARD holders from the 2019/20 season, 755 have already renewed with a full season ticket. This is made all the more encouraging by the fact many of these supporters have taken up our direct-debit plan.

“We are anticipating another busy weekend of sales and ticket-office opening hours are now being extended as we arrive at the ‘Take Me Home’ campaign’s eagerly-anticipated climax. This weekend is already looking like a busy one, and the ticket office at the Utilita Energy stadium will remain open for a further five hours today, until 5.00pm.

“On top of this, over 650 supporters have joined the all-new 1903 Club, with all proceeds from these memberships being directed straight into Derek Adams’ playing budget as the transfer window progresses.

“In the coming weeks, we intend to confirm our matchday admission prices and place on sale Away Priority memberships - alongside the launch of our promised loyalty scheme which will reward, from the 2022/23 season onwards, supporters who really do go the extra mile to support our club

I made it clear from the off-set that I'd rather we finished outside the play offs than go through another play off campaign and the inevitable defeat at Wembley.

Autos or I ain't interested
Really?
How bizarre then that these were all quotes from you in the final day match thread while you were aiming to get into the play offs on the final day:
If we miss out it'll be completely down to all those draws recently. We've lost the least amount of games in the league this season (Joint with top of the table Cheltenham) and have the joint best goal difference in the league. We don't deserve to miss out, but we probably will. And with 72 points? Ouch. Those 3 0-0 games recently are what's so annoying.
After going 1-0 up v Barrow:
Announce promotion. Up the city

Boring for autos not for play offs.

I'd rather Newport or Morecambe in the semis. Or FGR. Not confident playing Tranmere.

Although I appreciate the 3 points in helping us secure play offs (touching wood ofc)

A draw will suffice our end. Oldham will take all 3.
After Barrow equalise:
Fuck. 1-1 and Newport score as well.

So is it just Stevenage who aren't bothering to sell season tickets yet?

Discount deadline ended Saturday and we’ve sold 2,600. Should climb to 3,000 or so between now and the start of the season.

Our early bird offer ended at midnight with a little over 1300 season tickets sold which is pretty much a club record.
What’s your away end hold? Apologies if you’ve been asked that already.

Amazing response, even if you can win a ST from off the back of a cereal box (£200).

Still over 2 weeks remaining! I think we’ll see circa 13,000-14,000 sales!

12,000 sold.

Almost 1,000 away ticket priority memberships sold at £30 a pop. Obviously allows you first dibs for away tickets.

2,250 for mansfield

Another week of early bird prices yet, and considering we have averaged over double our ST holder amount in recent seasons I think we could see another increase on gates this season.

Despite the disappointment of recent seasons we still seem to be slowly growing our match day turnouts.

What do you get for that £30? Seems like an easy way to make money for the club bit I'd want a bit more than priority for tickets

Basically, it allows you to purchase away tickets before reaching season ticket holders and general sale. Perfect for when clubs offer small away allocations. You also secure 50 Loyalty Points.

We’ve offered this every season for a few years now. However, it’s usually £10-£20; 50% increase this year.

There’s loads of little initiatives/schemes the club offers. For example, the 1903 membership - over a 1,000 have paid an additional £35.00 on top of their ST price. Each member receives a scarf, pin badge, pen and 20% off club apparel - not forgetting the Bradford City hand-sanitiser. :D
