Only been to Bootham Crescent once myself, two years ago.

York have just always been one of those those clubs we've either been one league ahead or behind of more often than not. Often been promoted/relegated at the same time.

Aye the've been from Level 2 to level 6 in my time as a supporter, rarely in the same league as us. How many seasons did they have at level 2, was it just the one?

I think the new ground is scheduled to be open for the 2019-20 season? So this will be York's last season at Bootham Crescent before they move to Monks Cross.

Gunna be quite sad really for the older generation with fond memories of Bootham Crescent.
A bit like Feethams the Bootham Crescent site will be used for housing.
Feethams was a class place to go to, shame Reynold's sold you down the river with big promise's . Hopefully you will get back and we can resume hostilitie's on and off the pitch:box:

Rumours on our forum we’ve shifted 500 odd, down 200-300 on last season.

Certainly was a class place with many memories to go with it, until that dipshit hoodwinked us with his false promise's. He wasn't interested in us, in all honesty how many clubs have been shafted by these con-men over the year's - fact is they get away with it.

We can't afford to get back our ground is shite it's no good, if and when we resume our hostile behaviour it'll be like the good ol' days :box:

Haven’t played you for 12 years. I know your mate on here won’t like me saying this but nowadays Darlo isnt the same club for me and even though we’re at our lowest ebb, there’s still a fair chasm between us. No hard feelings nowadays, would like you to get out of the regionals and establish yourself as a club here (which you are easily capable of doing) and pushing to rejoin us in the league.

In that 12 years we’ve got accustomed to massive local derbies with Carlisle. Them derbies are so massive that they hate us and we couldn’t give a monkeys about them. Give us the real Darlo back.

Yep that's probably about right, no doubt that'll have been at the Reynold's White Elephant Arena! The final few nails to hammer in our coffin courtesy of the flamboyant fat fucker swindler. I don't think he would mind actually i totally agree with your comments, and duly take notice and take them on board. Definitely no hard feelings i use to love going to Victoria Park back in the 80/90s. I'll be honest it was notorious in those days the local derbies. I remember they use to run soccer specials (trains) back in those days.

Sorry i'm waffling on a bit where was i, or yeah the regionals well they are somewhat getting stronger as each season passes by, with the likes of York, Stockport, Kiddy and now Chester and Hereford with one or two others in the mix. But yeah that's the goal to get back and try and establish ourselves in the league above. But i don't think you guys will wanna stay in non-league football. It's the depths of despair.

But like i say we have a ground problem at the moment, with us sharing with the egg-chasers.
Plus funding, our fanbase has declined over the years, and we probably would have to stay part-time as well. I've never been to Carlisle for donkey's years boy i miss the football league.

Carlisle will be fed up with not having a local derby now after being involved for 12 years. I'm afraid to say it is what it is and that's non-league Darlo!

Why did it all go wrong for Darlington at the Reynold's Arena? Genuine question. I went to the RA 3 times and never saw us score a goal, The season I never went we won 2-1 when the great Ryan Lowe scored the winner (now managing Bury). Bury have just paid us anything over £20k (with sell-on) for Jordan Archer, who has potential, but struggled to get over an injury for us. Someone on Deva Chat reckons Bury are skint with £7m worth of creditors. Any one confirm?

Most of that £7M debt is owed to the chairman’s company Merdco.

We like most clubs rely on funding from our chairman. There is quite a lot of sketchy evidence around him... loans against the ground and CCJ’s being regular occurrences, on the other hand we seem to consistently be able sign decent players... so it’s a bit of a mystery in that respect.

I hope Jordan Archer is a success with you because it will mean he moves up and we will benefit from any sell-on. Btw Ryan Lowe is one of my all-time favourite Chester players. In 2008 he almost single-handedly saved us from falling into the abyss of non-league. Hope he works out as your manger.

Everything went wrong the minute the place opened for georgy porgy! I think he claimed to have a £260m fortune? I'm not sure which safe this was kept in, but obviously he couldn't crack it :gmc: He went on to spend £27m building the Reynolds Arena - He had never been a Darlington supporter - and a club he claimed to have no interest in - which ultimately led to his financial downfall. The place wants demolishing the sooner the better for me, absolutely hated the Arena.

Opening match was watched by 11,600 spectators in the 2-0 defeat to Kidderminster Harriers.
I haven't got a clue why he built a 25,000 stadium, especially when attendances for the footy matches were restricted to 10,000 by local planning regulations, something to do with poor access roads around the stadium. He was basically a con-man and he reeled us in.

Sorry didn’t see this, amazingly sold over 1300 season tickets (more than last year) and that was worst year in our history,I can see them shifting a lot of mini season tickets (10 matches) which normally goes on sale mid October because fans want to guarantee they get in for last match at Bootham Crescent It will be a very sad day another iconic ground going missing like feethams.
New ground is coming on well, one stand is up and a lot of additional building already up.

How far out of town is the new ground? York probably in my top 3 or 4 away days in the country so I hope the ground isn't shifted miles away

Just over 1,600, pretty good considering there's a vocal minority who won't buy one 'cos they want the board replaced for lacking ambition.

The whole reason we are where we are because of being run by a series of fly-by-night chancers, but some people just have no memories.
