It's no surprise the Blades are getting better attendances these days TBH.

They have been more successful in the last 5 or 6 years and their ticket prices have been and still are more realistic, particularly when Chansiri bumped Wednesday's up in an effort to help fund an ultimately failed push to the Premier League.

Plus United engage with local schools and the university more successfully giving out free tickets and promoting a more community club feel than Wednesday.

United have a catagory 1 accademy and have also continued to improve the infrastructure of the club,
Their trainng ground and stadium have gradually improved over the last decade (away end is still poor though) while Hillsborough has been allowed to decay apart from the odd lick of blue paint.

Even if Wednesday get back to the Championship (which as present form stands, they look more likely than us) they have a big job on to get back in front of United.
It's not impossible but you need an owner that cares about the club more than getting to the promised land so he can sell the club off and get his dad's money back.

I hope you don't think this is a Wednesday bashing post, it's not meant to be, just an observation from another South Yorkshire club fan.
Have you seen prices at United lately Bri?

No TBH I was going on prices I remember from 2 or 3 of years ago.

I have had a look just now and you're right they are as expensive and in some cases more expensive than yours, so apologies for that.

I know Chansiri reduced prices for League 1 and I expect being in the Premier League bumped up United's prices, hence the change in comparisons.
No doubt yours will jump back to Championship levels if you can get promoted.

I am still paying the same price for my season ticket (£240 Snr concession) as I was when we opened the stadium, which looking back must have been quite expensive for League 2 football.

I've read we've had 4,400 renew season tickets so far (believe we had approx. 6,000 last season).

11% increase on last season's prices. Expected, and yes they are a complete rip off. Yes - I will be getting one.

At least you don’t pay our prices in some of the areas. These are prices that haven’t increased.

(Ignore the championship side, the prices were decided when we had a chance of reaching the play offs)

Season ticket holders who had season tickets in the 19/20 season have had it refunded, less the cost of ifollow, which would be given back over 3 years. If you still have a season ticket, you can offset the refund so I’ve got £70 off mine next year again.

Jesus. Football is getting a dear game isn’t it. Some of these prices are high in my opinion.
I will do as I usually do, pay £20 on the door and stand on the popside.
If I am near a bellend, I can go stand somewhere else. Job done.

I know it’s done at pretty much every club but it always strikes me as somewhat illogical to up the prices for new fans. Your concession tickets aren’t at all bad though

No, they're not really.

You'll all be glad to know that our matchday prices will be staying the same - still an absolute rip off though.

We've sold 15,300 so far, already up on last years 13,800.

We're hoping to get near to 18/19k.

2969 sold so far for us which is excellent going - we normally have around 3000. Mine has risen by £30 -the first increase in 7 years.

We went into last season without the possibility to buy season tickets, hopefully this season doesn't follow suit.

At the moment, we stand at 0 season tickets for next season as they can't be renewed either. Doesn't look like they will be available any time soon either. It will be interesting, providing we don't go bust, how many decide to sign up - a lot depends on price (although, I'm expecting them to be a similar cost £350-400, upwards to £550) and the state of the club going into the season.

For one, I doubt we are able to participate in games with 5 players, not to mention no goalkeepers.

We've sold 2475 as of a few hours ago, but we do offer a junior grecians membership for like £25 where kids get into games for free if accompanied by a paying adult so a lot will be doing that, rather than buying their little uns season tickets.

We've now sold 2,600 - More than Torquay's average attendance last season

Up to 2930 season tickets as of this morning. I wonder if we'll hit 3,500? Amazing if so.

I see the Chelt'num local rag is reporting they're really pleased to have sold 1,400

Morecambe 1,300 and Accy just over 1,000.

I believe last season we hit 1,700 so to potentially double that is astonishing. The magic of Joe Wilkinson and David Earl, I recks.

We have sold over 1500 but are targeting 3000+ sales.

Edit - club now confirmed 2000 sold.

I'm sure ours will start slowing up as our 'early bird' discounted season ticket offer finish today.

Over 1,500 now, and more than last season - which I think means highest ever as well (though 02/03 may be higher)

Given the cost of living issues, and the fact our tickets are so effing expensive, I'd say we have every right to be pleased about it.

The early bird has now been extended by another week as well.

I hope our early bird offer gets extended, even if by a few hours. Ours run out tomorrow at midday, which seems odd given it is payday for a lot of people tomorrow and they won't even get home from work and be able to take advantage of it. Think we have already broken our record of season ticket sales.

I believe ours are in the region of "several hundred", but that season ticket prices have been frozen since last year, promotion notwithstanding, may give a bit of a boost

4.5k now I think I read. Apparently we’re going to stop sales around 5k (club record) to allow for POTD fans since our capacity was reduced the other year by the EFL.

We had to do that as well, you've got to keep a certain percentage of seats free for POTD'ers.

Oh yeah absolutely - it’s great to have the summer income now, but the club needs the revenue throughout the season as well.

Apparently we’ve got a local broadcast tv advert on the go for season tickets. I haven’t seen it yet. Anyone else ever done that?

Really wish I had the money to have committed to a season ticket for me and my boys. Especially as both boys would have been £55 for the season before the early bird offer expired, but just not in a position to pay anything at the moment :lac:

Around 5,500 for us now at the end of the early bird period. Not sure we'll quite get to the 6,300 sell-out but still a decent effort off the back of only 4(?) home wins and some mind numbing performances last season and the obvious cost of living where some are having to make choices.

Remind me again how Lincoln went from barely averaging 4k on a good day to shifting 6k STs

They seemed to capture the day trippers from the cup run and promotion season... its something I am hoping under our current ownership and club state we can do.
