Thought i'd have a rant on here and warn other away fans going to The Hive. Granted maybe only one or two games are called off per season.
Basically if you print off your own away end ticket on their website , which they encourage you to do, there is no refund if the game is called off.
Initially i was told the tickets ( 4 of at 74 quid ) are valid for the re-arranged Tuesday night game which apparently is next week. Firstly the 4 of us work, secondly we are not that diehard. A day out in London on the pop and watching our usual 90 minutes of dirge was the attraction , not Barnet FC .
It is the usual hiding behind the T & C's which accompany the ticket.
To say they have been unhelpful is an understatement, must of made 5 phone calls, 2 e-mails, promised calls back etc and nothing.
Eventually the office manager a Tom Webster rang me to tell me that there is no refund for visiting supporters.
Having already lost the train money as well, this is another kick in the gonads.
Just seems a shoddy way to treat supporters given the fact lower league clubs fans are 'proper' and not glory hunting plastics.
No point contacting the EFL as they are about as much use as a chocolate tea pot and will give some bland response.
Can't say Barnet have ever been anything to me, pretty soulless atmosphere less ground when they come to Vale, almost a non entity. However now they are a smug , arrogant, obnoxious bunch which given the fact Mr Westley is their manager is quite apt.
Please please get relegated back to the wilderness .

Next week? Nothing been announced in that regard as yet has there so a bit short notice. Surely were best to play in April when Pope is back!

Poor from Barnet... surely they have to refund it?!

The guy told me it is next Tuesday though not announced officially yet.
They say no refunds, also thread on OVF about it. Hiding behind the T& C's which are on the website.

That's shocking, there's no good reason not to offer a refund and I don't know of any other place that would do that. With barcode scanning they'll know whether your ticket gets used for the rearranged game, presuming that's why they think home printed tickets are a problem. If the EFL won't listen then perhaps the Football Supporters Federation will take up the fight.

Nice one shoddy . I've got the FSF phone number so shall call them.
Most peculiar way to treat people really.
Seen gigs/ concerts called off due to problems with singers voice etc and they always issue refunds if can't get to the new date.
I remember when i should of seen Little Mix i was offered a refund :eyes:

Pretty sure you have to be offered a refund if the initial game date changes. That's not a Barnet/EFL thing, just the law.

They are breaking the law if they don`t refund you. Ring them up, reverse charges and after 23 mins have a lie down.

Agree with all above but playing devil's advocate why is it fine and no comments on the train company not giving a refund compared to Barnet? Because you know in advance no show no refund?

The train ran as advertised at the correct times we booked. Had they been cancelled we would of complained. The train company aren't concerned whether we are going shopping, football or Billy Elliot . They met their end of the bargain by putting the train on .
Common sense finally prevailed, it took the Football supporters federation and a phone call from the much maligned Vale chairman to get them to change their minds.
Still leaves sour taste the arrogance and disdain they showed.
No tears will be shed here if they are relegated

And the way our fans have been shafted with the re-arrangement (clearly so they avoid the Pope)

By the sounds of it, the EFL agreed with our interpretation of the rule that any postponed match ought to be played at the earliest date possible. It is true that that suits us more than you considering your present run of form and Tom Pope's injury but it's hardly a shameful act.
As for the ticket refund, if what you've said is true then that doesn't reflect well on the club.
Lastly, seeing that Vale have never played at the Hive, how would you know about our ground?

To be honest the game has to be on a Tuesday whether it's next week or whenever so I can't get people's gripes about Pope. For crying out loud games aren't called off or put off because a teams top scorer is injured. Vale just have to get on with it .
I assure you every word of my original post is true, only the intervention /pressure by fans groups saw a change of heart.
The whole thing stank to high heaven from the continual fobbing off and lack of ownership. Tom Webster in the ticket office did his best and possibly took some flack, he was merely a puppet for the hierarchy above .
Not sure who mentioned the ground , I have only read really good reviews and was looking forward to my visit , albeit after a few sherbets in the smoke first.
Unfortunately Barnet haven't come out of it very well and as I said a club I had no interest in are now my number one for the drop with the vile Westley looking for yet another job come May.
Harsh / childish , maybe , but that's how I feel after my dealings with them.

I do have a little sympathy with Barnet with the game being arranged for next week. At this stage of the season you don’t want to be playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday come April but it does stink from a fans point of view, Especially those who would travel from Vale. Although I wished they’d rearranged our game with Stevenage to next week so I wouldn’t be able to get the time off to visit the shithole.

If we get refunds for players not turning up then I’m due about 25 years worth of match admissions.

To be frank, the club's initial response to your request for a refund is pretty symptomatic of how well the club has been functioning as an organisation this season. They have not been a shining example of good customer service!

Decent awayday Barnet, best away bar in the league and a decent stand behind the goal where you can create a good atmosphere.

Just don't go hitting any of their stewards with anything inflateable. :bg:

Club can say what they like. There was no way they were going to avoid refunds.

Sadly the staff at the Hive aren't the best and whoever said no refund was a numpty.

Date of the rearranged match is what it is.

We put a fair case for the rearranged game to happen not at 6 days notice, the safety of the players and aid of the fans getting there has been overlooked and has been done tactically which unfortunately the EFL have backed Barnet on. The fact Barnet tried to avoid refunding fans when rearranging at six days notice is diabolical.

Hopefully we back fire it for them on the pitch but we will see! Two wins and we will likely be out of sight of Barnet and hopefully Chesterfield!

1. Our chairman is widely renowned to be a dick and he definitely would've tried to avoid refunds if possible. He is however a businessman and does this kind of shit all of the time - when you know people who work at the club you hear all kinds of shit. Unfair of anyone here to paint the blame on the staff members, the fans, the club itself etc.

2. Put yourself in our shoes. Why on Earth should we bend to Vale's wishes to play the game when they have their top scorer back? It'll just clog up the fixture list at a point in the season which will be crucial for us. I'm sorry, but getting pissy about that is just bitter and stupid. We obviously want the game to go ahead as soon as possible, as do the EFL as per their guidelines. Wanting/wishing us to go down, painting the fans and club as all bad is just so stupid and petty. You know you would do exactly the same with the rearrangement had the shoe been on the other foot - and if you say you wouldn't, you lie.

In short - 1. our chairman is a prick, and 2. get over yourselves.

Sad but true, I will still criticise the staff for acting like headless chicken and failing to stand up to TK
