Played quality once he started to run at them, particular second half. Nearly scored and got an assist within a couple of minutes of each other as well, good that he got 80 minutes unscathed as well after an injury scare on Thursday. Payne was the main man though, ran the game at his own pace.

What's impressed me with our recruitment is we knew all summer we were losing our main striker, so started on building a stronger all round 11 early on. We may have lost Wyke but should be stronger, he could barely get in games last season because of how crap we were. Doyle isn't a bad replacement either by the looks of it. Only came on for the last 20, not had a pre season and totally changed the complexion of the game after they were getting on top, only complaint is he should have scored 2 easily.

Really enjoyed that, Shrewsbury will be up there again and battered us at times today with just that end product missing. On golden chances alone today could’ve finished 3-3 easily.
