So, the Rovers Return to this level for the first time in....a long time. The days of Jack Walker a distant memory. We've made some good signings over the summer to replace those we lost. Kightly being the best I would think. Turner signed but he is likely to miss due to injury and today, in a friendly, our best left back Ben Coker, has suffered a suspected broken leg. Fucking wonderful. We supposedly signing a CB this week, rumours of Rob Kiernan.

We have a lot of injuries right now so I would take a draw.

Yea we've had a stinker there with Coker and injuries are stacking up.
Tough opening game, should be a big crowd watching a 1-1 draw I think. I am excited to see the boy Yearwood in a proper game, could have a gem on our hands.

I ve been looking forward to this season but not this game, think it's gonna be a tough one. Still think we are 3 or 4 players off being a top 2 side. Our starting 11 is as good as anyone's but we are still threadbare in my opinion, hope I am wrong but I reckon it will take us 4 or 5 games to really find our feet. I'm thinking it will finish 2:1 but no idea which way it will go.

I'm in two minds as to whether we'll come straight out of the blocks with a commanding win or struggle at first and draw, or maybe even lose down at Roots Hall. If we keep hold of Mulgrew and Lenihan (some bids have been made for them both) I think we'll get the 3 points though, we've played some good football with those two in the side.

Like Bluerover78 I think we're a few players off being shoe-ins for promotion, strong starting 11 but weak squad players.

What a welcome to League One for us. Was doing a BBQ yesterday and could barely look after my meat with the amount of stick I was getting texted. Was always going to be a tough start despite my optimism going into the day. Anyways, its a long season ahead so we shouldn't be too dejected about losing at one of the harder places to visit in this league. Onwards and upwards.
