Very reminiscent of the Russian game. We're looking very good, just haven't taken our chances again.

We've created some very good chances as well.

EDIT: Lallana and Vardy both should have scored.

Similar issues to the Russia game really. Loads of chances but just not clinical enough.

Dominant first half from England just lacking that killer instinct, Daniel Sturridge needs to play the ball faster when in possession though, Lallana's finishing has been poor as has Jordan Henderson's set piece delivery. Slovakia might have to come out a bit in the 2nd half so we may catch them out on the counter.

Henderson's balls into the box are embarrassing.

Lallana hits that shot anywhere else and its in. Never has been a goal scorer though.

Otherwise decent but too slow, need to up the tempo of our passing a tad.

Wilshere looks very rusty but Henderson's been good apart from his set piece delivery. Feels like a goal is coming, just hope half time doesn't disrupt our pressure too much.

Good half. Not too dissimilar to Spain tbh. The difference being they know they'll get a goal from it, where we're a bit more anxious.

Only thing I'd like to see is Wilshere getting a bit further forward. If that means commiting more forward or him and Henderson swapping roles I don't mind, but he'll offer more further up. We're essentially camped in their half anyway.

Henderson, Wilshere and Sturridge have been wank. I'd like Rooney and Alli for Henderson and Wilshere at HT, if Wilshere stays on after HT though, I give up.

We must be averaging atleast 60% possession so far this tournament

This is good for us. We need to forget that Wales are winning and remember that Slovakia eventually will need to commit more forward. Since Vardys chance they've dropped a bit deeper, once they get to the point they know they need to go for it, they'll set themselves up for us.

Too honest from Clyne?

Really good move that. Good control by Wilshere, nice pass from Sturridge... but just missing the finish.

EDIT: Would have prefered one of the DMs coming off. Not sure we've needed both Henderson and Dier in this game.

Lallana and Sturridge are playing too narrow now, we've lost the width.

We've never had width really. The squad just doesn't have it.

EDIT: Sturridge hasn't played badly today, he's just not a winger.

I'm not sure they do need to go for it. 4pts virtually guarentees you progression, 3pts doesn't

Indeed. But for some you can't beat a bit of confirmation bias. Perhaps he should avoid touching the ball like Vardy. ;)

Get Rashford on maybe? He looked lively against Wales.

4 points will definitely be enough, would take a freak set of results for them to not qualify.

I still think we're about to see a very open game post 80. Nothing is guaranteed in this game. Get the job done yourself don't rely on others.

Slovakia at some point need to go for it. As things stand they're out.

Whatever the case, it's not been a strong showing for this forward line.

If I were them I'd play for a point. No chance Ireland will beat Italy by three, plus whatever else needs to happen.

Taking Sturridge off doesn't make much sense to me. You can count how often Vardy has touched the ball without having to take your dick out.

To go out they'd require Ireland to beat Italy, NI to take something off Germany, Portugal and Iceland/Austria both to win. As much as we'd like it, they don't need to and it's not going to happen.
