When Michael Owen scored against Argentina at France '98 I immediately turned the telly off and went to bed crying.

Rivalry aside, having such a big core of Liverpool players in the England side today is a poor do, seeing as the current Liverpool side is in midtable purgatory thanks to these players.

If this turns in to yet another Man Utd/Liverpool thread then 1FF May aswell pack up and pull the plug

ITS BORING

It isn't, the point was relevant to England.

You're making an issue out of it.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Does Luke Dimech still turn out for Malta?

Allardyce said that Rooney can play where he wants. The England manager is subordinate to a player, a sackable offence. Are the FA waiting for us to hit rock bottom where no fans show up before acting?

I interpreted that as meaning he had a free role behind Kane, which, given he was playing alongside Dier and Henderson, is fair enough. He wouldn't make my England XI but I thought Rooney was one of our better players earlier, certainly better than Kane, Sterling and Henderson.

He cited Rooney's international experience as superceding his own, therefore Rooney can play where he wants. Meanwhile, Mourinho, a good manager, tells Rooney he can't play in midfield and will play where he's told. Fat Sam is just another obvious waste of time.

Twitter seemed to think that the current England captain performed a particularly outrageous dive in the latter stages of the game. The ITV highlights didn't seem to agree...?

Well they were all claiming Rooney got pushed but the replays showed he just simply performed a belly flop after the slightest nudge.

So last night was my first ever England game. Living out in Slovakia, I must admit, I was really excited for it. Unfortunately I only had tickets in the home end but I was still looking forward to it.

And then the game kicked off. I must say, it was probably one of the worst football games I have ever seen in my life. Honestly both teams were dreadful. Thankfully Skrtyl did his usual thing of getting sent off, at least at that point, the final 30 minutes turned into a average game of football.

All I can say is I will not be rushing back to watch another England game, thats for sure. If this is what Big Sam has in store for us, we're in big trouble.

Was it as bad as Bristol Rovers' draw at Alfreton a couple of seasons ago?
That's the thing with international football, there just seems to be fewer and fewer international matches that are absorbing affairs especially compared to your own club's matches.

The pundits are talking absolute bollocks. The fact that the ball his Sturridge doesn't matter, it's whoever kicked the ball that matters. An offside player doesn't become onside because the ball deflects off someone, and vice versa, it has to be intentional.

"A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate"

I go all over watching England and can definitely say I don't go for the football. One a side note Bratislava, Trnava and Brno are so cheap. Felt like I was getting paid to drink at some points. Cracking cities and would definitely go back to Bratislava.

Bratislava is a lovely City. They've literally just started (three days ago) to build the new national football stadium, so in future years national games are much more likely to be in Bratislava than Trnava or Zilina.

Yep it's being built now. Should be 2 years I think until it's done, I could be wrong.

The funny thing is, you say it's cheap here, where all the England fans were celebrating in advance was about double the price of a normal beer. I rarepy pay above €1.40 - can't complain

Have you ever been to the Slovak Pub on the old high street? I think it's my favourite place to visit anywhere in the world. Went there in July and had soup for 2 served in a massive home baked loaf, two mains including their incredible halusky, about three bazants and some soft drinks, and the whole bill was under 20 euros. I saw on their menus that they do student offers for food at lunchtime that's literally about 1 euro for a main course. I would never leave.

Yep it's called Slovak Pub on Obchodna street.

It's decent in there, decent price and decent (ish) food. It's a real touristic place meaning you can get cheaper and better. Tbh, the service there is horribly slow too - but service out here isn't great in general.

Next time you pop over, drop me a message, I'll messaget you some even better, cheaper places to go

Although I must say, their garlic soup in the bread bowl is fantastic

I have two sisters in law and a few other friends in Bratislava, so it's not usually me who decides where to go. Maybe it's the nostalgia, but I love the Slovak Pub, I go there every time I visit. Tbh I always thought it was in the cheaper end and away from the main tourist bit - this summer I walked away from the main square, up through St Michael's Gate and over the road just to go there. I wouldn't have thought it does much trade from passing tourists given its location and every time I'm there it seems to be Slovaks inside. The high street it's on seems to be pretty dead nowadays, given the new shopping centres. The prices went down from about 8.50 euros for halusky by the gate to about 4.50 euros in Slovak Pub, which I thought was pretty good, especially if you are used to UK prices.

My wife genuinely wouldn't buy an ice cream on the outskirts of town because "I'm not paying 50 cents per scoop". In the next street it was 1 euro a scoop and only going up as it got closer to the centre. Come back to Edinburgh and it's £3.50 a scoop. Raining as well...
