Oh, Wigan have pissed league one to have a crack at being immediately relegated from the Championship again? Yawn.

I say this fully aware that 1. We won't be playing eachother next season as we're going down and 2. If we manage to go straight back up we'll have done exactly the same as Wigan and I'll be a hypocrite.

Will Wigan still be getting parachute payments next season? That would be a real help to them financially after promotion I guess.

Romped the league as well, Caldwell's side limped over the line ahead of Burton and Walsall, rather than Blackburn...

Cook's sides have a similar playing style to Dean Smith, they'll survive comfortably with a couple of additions.
last time i was here you was a mod and top dog what happened pal XD

We're a much better side than last season and the one that won League One two seasons ago. Caldwell with parachute payments scraped us through last time, we had two novice managers who were completely out of their depth last season and it was a total shambles.

The Summer bust up in pre season lead to our side being ripped apart, with several key players sold or sent out on loan and both the captain and vice captain being stripped of their roles. Then Powell and Grigg were injured all season to compound the misery. Nathan Byrne signed looked good the few times he played then he was one of a number of players to fall out with new manager Joyce and be sent out on loan.

Signing about 15 loan players, the 3 worst keepers we've had in years, perhaps a little harsh on Jussi he was just 42 and was never going to be at his best.

Selling our best player with an hour to go on January deadline day and signing I think 11 shite players in one day, all of which have left already. An embarrassing level of fitness and terrible training regime that meant we had 10+ players injured each game. A total shambles throughout.

Cook is a top manager, Sheff United and Millwall have proved if you keep your squad together and make a few shrewd additions, stay organised, have good work ethic and intensity and you can be a solid side in this division without spending big. We can't assume it will be as easy as that but the likes of them Preston, Brentford, Bristol City have all made the step up and consolidated after being sensible. Fitness levels are superb, work rate is excellent and the training methods have been top notch, hardly an injury all season.

Where has this idea that Wigan have romped league one come from?

They’re 1 point ahead of Blackburn with two games to play. They might not even win it at all yet.

Oh we’ll win it alright, and you’re going to help us sunshine! The reality is that three clubs have romped League One this season. Unfortunately for Shrewsbury only two can go up automatically.

Talking of boring, have you improved since that negative shitshow of a performance you put up at Molineux the other week?

Jota playing as a wingback because you couldn't handle Doherty

It’s nothing personal, but your new 'arrogant' act is boring.

You've done a complete U-turn with your stance on financial doping now that Wolves are benefiting from it...

In comparison to our League position, the form table would suggest so.

Oh, talking of which, look what was released today... https://t.co/cp4hgFlQ8G?amp=1

Discussions between the EFL and management of Wolverhampton Wanderers have now concluded in regard to the matter of the relationship between the club, majority shareholder Fosun and intermediary Jorge Mendes.

Following the commitment made in March, as a result of some concerns raised by a number of Championship clubs, the EFL has met with Wolverhampton Wanderers to ensure compliance with the requirements of its regulations.

At that meeting, a request for information was made by the EFL and following a comprehensive review of the detail subsequently provided by the club, it has been determined that Mr Mendes holds no role at the club and, as such should not be categorised as a ‘Relevant Person’ as defined by League regulations. On this basis there is no requirement for him to submit to the Owners’ and Directors’ Test.

As part of the discussions the club has been reminded of its continuing obligation to keep under review the status of both existing Relevant Persons, but also any other individuals who may at some point acquire the status of Relevant Person, and advise the League (and, given the recent promotion, the Premier League) accordingly.

The EFL would like to place on record its appreciation to the management of Wolverhampton Wanderers for their help and assistance in resolving this matter within a sensible and appropriate timeframe.

The EFL will be making no further comment.

---- So, you were saying?

It doesn’t change the fact that a couple of years ago you were absolutely dead against teams like Derby spending big in this league and I’m fairly sure you were all for scrapping the loan system. Now it’s in your favour you seem perfectly happy with it. I’m not really arsed tbh but El Guapo does have a point.

I don’t care if Clubs stay within the boundaries of FFP, or whatever. It would be good to see more big-money players like Ruben Neves in the Championship. I was pointing out what a hypocrite you are. When Derby, Forest, etc. were spending big, you strongly opposed it.

I don't think I had anything against the loan system. I'm guessing you're going on about comments I made 2 years or so ago but I don't remember anything about loans. I'm open to being corrected if you're bothered to dig through years worth of posts though. I agree I was against teams spending beyond their means, I still am too (I'm highly critical of Villa's spending). I don't think we've spent beyond our means though. If we didn't go up this season we would have sold Neves for twice of what we paid (maybe the other Portuguese too) and started over again.

I could refer you to the end of my last sentence for that. It was fairly obvious that if we fucked up promotion the big names would have been gone, and for a profit. The difference with the other clubs, namely Derby and Forest at the time were spending, and spending, and spending some more, without really selling anyone to balance the books.

Well we’ve smashed League One once again and we’re back for another crack at that thing they call the Championship. This time with a far better manager. Last time we beat Man City and won L1 in the same season, we got to the Prem two years later. So beware!

And who the fuck might you be?
