Will that be before or after Cooper goes to MK Dons?

He's 25/1 for that job, whereas Paul Mitchell is odds on.

Coops is not going to MK Dons. Why would he, we'll be a bigger club then them very soon.

Don't read too much into bookies odds Chris, in the last week for the Grimsby job we have had Adkins at 1/3, Cowley at 4/7 and Woodhouse at 4/6, all now drifted way out with Bignot now evens.
Bookies odds mean shit mucker.

Just seems like a colossal waste of money and a vanity project to me, if you'll simply end up with another small stadium, no matter how nice it looks. I wonder who'll own the new ground - FGR or Ecotricity? Who owns the old ground and who'll benefit from it's sale for housing?

You don't want to end up in a Coventry or Darlington type situation at some point in the future.
Forest Green Rovers are already simply a subsidiary of Ecotricity. There is only one shareholder for everything - Dale Vince He owns everything and I assume he'll still own everything when they move.

The Ecotricity group is the majority shareholder of FGR, owning something like 78% I think. The rest is made up of a number of shareholders left over from before the takeover.

Sorry. I'd glossed over the "majority owned" in the following on your web site:

"FGR (company registration 6748691) is a majority owned subsidiary of Ecotricity Group Ltd (company registration 3521776) of which Mr Dale Vince is the sole shareholder."

I'm aware that Dale Vince owns both Ecotricity and FGR.

My point was that currently (presumably) the ground is owned by the same subsidiary as the football club.

I would hazard a guess that the new ground won't be, as it's part of a much larger development. It's always dangerous when the ground is owned by a separate company than the club because if the guy who owns the club gets bored or hits some financial difficulties and wants rid the club effectively becomes homeless. The owner keeps the clubs assets, the old ground the club once owned long sold.

Being reliant on the largesse of a single individual in perpetuity seems to me to be an inherently high risk strategy. Do no FGR fans have any concerns?

Massive concerns when he took over, as did a lot of fans, who were unsure of his motives. There have been cases of unscrupulous individuals buying clubs, asset stripping them, selling the ground and leaving them with nowhere to play games. My worry at the start was that Vince was someone who had little clue about football, or its traditions and history, I think it has taken time but he now appreciates this. Although I was one of the people who was a bit resistant to some of the change I am now far happier with what has happened and far more comfortable with the direction the club is heading in.

How does changing the colours of a historic club to match the colours of the company that owns it in any way respect tradition and history? Can you imagine if Easyjet bought Man City and changed their colours to black and orange?

Man city's 3rd kit is orange and black, have you just predicted the future?

Agree totally and he isn't the first to have done it, remember Tan at Cardiff who did it because he considered red to be a lucky colour, despite the team being called the bluebirds (I note he finally saw the error of his ways and changed it back again). My worries related to the continued existence of the club, colours and badges can be changed back if ownership changes, far more difficult if there is no club.

That would indeed be mental because easyJet are orange and white.

*Orange and white.

And wouldn't that just make them look like Luton?

Mark Cooper will not be going to MK Dons. As he said yesterday this is an exciting project, we're on our way up the leagues, he's on a 5 year deal and very good wages with a patient chairman who gives his managers everything needed to be successful.

He's not going to MK Dons lol. You're deluded if you think he would.

I think Railway Blue means deluded that you think you will be bigger than MK Dons, not about Copper leaving to go there.

I mean you're deluded if you think you'll ever be bigger than (scum that they are) MK Dons.
