My friend has just texted me to tell me that Facebook is prompting her to make an event for my birthday next week, apparently it thinks I'm going to be lonely. Is this what passes for corporate social responsibility these days?

I don't know why but "texted" really annoys me. I have no idea what the correct word is but I use text as I think that sounds better. I need help.

I'm going to say it feels like a 'wrong' past tense of verb, despite actually being regular. Could be because the SOUND "-ext" (flexed, perplexed), "ixt" (fixed, mixed) or "-axt" (taxed) is already the past tense, so adding textED seems unnatural.

I would always say he text me yesterday.

I see your point, but I'm pretty sure that texted is what you would find in a dictionary.

Texted doesn't bother me as much as when people are talking about multiple texts and end up saying textes.... What the fuck is that!?!?

Lucky you, it's a more in person thing, but my god it makes me want to punch someone.

The Americans use vacation as a verb. I vacation in Aruba.

Not sure if it's relevant but new form of speech often negates languages. In France, we've had some kind of law (or project of passing a law) that makes French easier for the younger generations. Da fuck is dat shit?

Sister had a Facebook rant this morning about how enraged she was that HMRC were charging her £116 in tax when she'd been living and earning in Israel for three months. She was livid about it, UK government taking her rightful money and all that.

Brother looked into it. It was a £116 tax rebate.

Your sister sounds awful.

Edit: also because she ate your paneer meal. I'm not that harsh.

Haha, good memory bank. She's joint top in the people I love immensely, but even when she's a few thousand miles away you can tell when she's at it again.
