So in the past few days board have been put up around the whole area where the proposed site will go. Today Southend United has been splatted all over these boards. The plans for the site are enormous now with about 240 residential properties, a cinema, restaurants and shops it really will be huge but we have British Land on board with us and they are a massive firm.

I don't see why we would have put these boards up if there wasn't news imminent and we'd surely have to agree something with the council to even be allowed to put them up. I imagine something will be released to the fans by the Chairman on the last day of the season. Recently a councillor said the stadium was the closest it's ever been sooooooo good news on the horizon I hope......

We've had hoardings up before, although not personalised! The current plans haven't even been put before the council, let alone agreed yet. If/when they are, they are going to be called in by government due to the sheer scale this madness has grown into. So this pipe dream still has a long way to becoming any sort of reality.

My main concern remains the money we owe to all sorts of people, latest accounts show £15.8M debt and we are now servicing the 'loan' from Sainsbury's who basically propped this club up for neigh on two years and have rightly asked Uncle Ron for their money back.
If we ever make it to a new stadium we'll still not have a pot to piss in as we'll be paying everyone back for years even if we can somehow get 18k crowds through the door.
All that debt, losing at least £100k a month but we're somehow paying Nile Ranger's and Simon Cox's rumoured £5k a week wages, that's certainly not Ron's money so someone else will be taking a nice cut from any kind of money we make, if we ever get to this glorious promised land of Fossetts Farm.

One thing I've never understood is what's the long part of the stadium for? The plans make the proposed stadium look like sperm...
That design is well old. Looks nothing like that now

Must have been about 2010-2011, they weren't up long maybe two weeks or so. I seem to remember someone saw a digger behind them at one point and all sorts of speculation started!!
