Fucking joke of an appointment. I wont be watching another England game. Astounding lack of ambition shown by the FA. Just another "Yes" man.
He's not fucking done anything yet.Well this post is embarrassing isnt it but was my thoughts at the time. I well and truly had to eat my words and eat humble pie. I tip my cap to Gareth. He has done an excellent job.
Has has transformed the camp to t a team who want to play for England with pride and has oversaw our first WC Penalty shoot-out winHe's not fucking done anything yet.

Welcome to the forum.I don't wished to appear immodest (I'm not that kinda guy - in fact I'm humble to a fault) but I was very pleased to see Southgate appointed at the time. In fact I said on another forum (where they were totally opposed to him) that I thought even if we bombed out of the world cup he should be kept on long term. And give him time to see his plan through to the end.
Tbf fella one thing that hasn’t aged well is that 1994 beard and haircut comboaged again very well.

Well sure if you look at it this way but history will remember that England achieved a World Cup semi-final. Not bad eh?Not sure it was an amazing achievement. He brought the country together, adopted the right formation and got the players to believe in him which is half the battle. But then we did strike lucky to get as far as we did. The Columbia shootout could have gone either way and we didn/t meet an elite nation (other than Belgium in two dead rubbers) throughout. I'd call it more promising with room to build for the future.
Jamie Vardy, speaking to the Guardian: “To be honest with you, this has been on my mind for a while.
“I’m not getting any younger and you can see, to be fair to the gaffer, he wants to make it more youthful, which obviously had its benefits during the World Cup – we got to the semi-finals and finished fourth, which is equal to the furthest we have ever been on foreign soil.
So I just said to Gareth that I think it’s probably best from now on, especially with the way he wants to go, to bring youngsters in who he thinks have got the ability and start nurturing them into international football.”
Got a few young defenders but what about strikers?
You forgot about the part...... 'along with one sulking, argumentative and deluded Scotsman doing his damnedest to ruin every England thread on OFF'......It'll go down as "that summer 2018, when it was hot and sunny for 3 months solid, during which England got to the World Cup semi final, and England was briefly united and happy"
