Long term gains.
Wow. That could have been rather serious.

Thoughts on the Robins side ahead of this season Krazy? Jason Doyle's huge average doesn't leave much behind but Nick Morris and Adam Ellis ride hard and should be decent contributors.
Yeah not sure putting all your eggs in one basket is a good idea, one injury to Doyle and we're screwed. Don't understand why they've felt the need to put averages so high, most teams aren't going to risk such a chunk of their total on one rider and youngsters aren't worth the risk. Doyle's average will come down so I imagine they'll make changes as soon as possible, but for us to challenge Morris probably needs to step up a level or two.

Just finishing above Poole will do though:cool1:

Well thats it. Coventry Bees have had their license revoked and will not ride anywhere next season. Gutted!

Went to the Rockets first meeting of the season last night against Wolves, running out 10 point winners 51-41. Excellent team performance and a very encouraging debut from Ellis Perks at 7. Robbo and Davey Watt were off the pace but hopefully that's just a one off. As for Wolves, Jacob Thorssell was surprisingly poor. Not sure what his final points tally was but to be beaten by the Rockets reserves isn't good. Kyle Howarth on the other hand was very quick and would have pulled in a better return than his 13+1 hadn't it been for a classy move by Bomber.

The owners have done 'extensive ground works' ( ) and by that it's put some banking on the far side and plonk a standing terrace on top of a shipping container. Got to say, the crowd was fantastic, anywhere between 2,500-3,000 including I noticed quite a few Lakeside Hammers fans. Very encouraging from Rye and hopefully that continues against Swindon in the KOC next Saturday.

Cooky is just too good. Entertaining British Final at Belle Vue last night to be fair.

Really hoping he rides well at Togliatti in August and earns a GP Wildcard berth.

Cracking result for GB last night, racing was generally atrocious but being there it was a lot of fun. Even without Doyle I still didn't think we had a chance but we were absolutely on it from the off and it took the Aussies a set of heats to get into the groove which helped, they all had their gating boots on last night, even Harris, which is essential on a gate-and-go track like Lynn.

Be surprised if we medal next Saturday but depends who else comes through, I'd give us half a chance against the Swedes and maybe even Denmark these days. Expect Cook and Lambert to go well but Harris and Worrall will probably struggle.

^^^ Unfortunately the final and GP yesterday showed that Craig Cook's not up to the standard required.

First visit to Cardiff since 2014 yesterday and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. PK is an absolute madman but entertaining nonetheless, he'll pull off maneuvers that I think would make the rest of the riders squirm. Maciej Janowski is now level with Patryk Dudek and 3 behind Doyley in the standings, there were plenty of his fans near me who were delighted when he won the final.

My only quip on the day was with the referee and his eagerness to stop rides for unsatisfactory starts - Niels-Kristian Iversen in particular given a warning for a perfect start was just bizarre.

Haven't watched a great deal of Speedway this year, but I thought yesterday was exceptional - just a shame Tai missed out on countback. Looked for all the world after the first two sets of heats that he'd be having a good night and making up some serious ground on Doyle, but alas it wasn't to be.

Ended your 17 win streak on Friday night then Krazy8, great record which won't be broken any time soon! Shame about Poole winning at Somerset, had they lost then I reckon we would have snuck that last playoff spot.

It's always a shame when Poole win!

Can't believe the run we had, think a lot of it's down to the other sides finishing most meetings with about 4 riders but that's British speedway for you. Not convinced we've been that much better than the other teams this year so still all to play for in the playoffs. I'll still cry if Poole beat us though.

Well deserved title for Swindon, unquestionably the best team this season although they tried their best to blow it in the playoffs.

Great news for the Brummies too as, subject to BSPA approval (which is never a given), we've secured our future next year with new ownership which will be revealed next Wednesday, excited to see who it is (murmurs of Pearson and Tatum) and what their plans are, suspect we'll be National League again next year (or whatever the equivalent is) but hope we have ambitions to move up eventually, but only if the conditions are right this time.

Off to Poland tonight for the GP tomorrow, doesn't look like I can get to either of the Polish meetings on Sunday which is a shame (went to Torun 5 years ago and then to Gorzow the day after for the Ekstraliga playoff final but it was called off as it was due to start which was gutting) but GPs in Torun are a great event and even though it looks like the title is out of reach for Dudek and Janowski now you'd expect one of the 4 of them to get to the final which will make the Poles even more boisterous than usual. As a likeable ex-Brummie I hope Doyle wraps it up, Woffy wins the meeting, and having put an each way bet on Dudek at the start of the year for him to finish on the rostrum to cement second in the championship.

Doyle, Woffy and Dudek in the final last night then Tom, you got your wish. Perfect time for the Dude to score 18 and secure his first GP win. 14 point lead will still be enough I'd imagine for Doyle to wrap the title up but it still makes Melbourne interesting in 3 weeks time.

My E/W bet before the season started was on Zmarzlik who's lacked any consistency.

Big Speedway fan and looking forward to tonight against Ipswich in Knockout Cup semi final and i am sure they will want to try and gain some revenge after we beat them to Championship Title.

Very impressed with Swindon and how they reacted to defeat at home to Wolves to go there and win title two days later.

As for GP series Doyle has been so solid all year and bet he was glad to get through GP in Torun without injury.
