GK: Matt Hudson (2nd year pro)
GK: Callum Roberts (1st year pro)

RB: Callum Woods
RB: Marnick Vermijl
RB: Darnell Fisher
CB: Paul Huntington
CB: Tom Clarke (injured till Christmas)
CB: Andy Boyle
LCB: Tommy Spurr
LCB: Ben Davies
LB: Greg Cunningham
LB: Kevin O'Connor
LB: Josh Earl (1st year pro)

CM: Ben Pearson
CM: Alan Browne
CM: Paul Gallagher
CM: John Welsh
CM: Liam Grimshaw
CM: Melle Meulensteen (1st year pro)

RW/ LW: Daryl Horgan
AM/ CM: Daniel Johnson
AM/LW: Josh Harrop
LW/ ST: Callum Robinson
LM: Ben Pringle

ST: Jordan Hugill
ST/ RW: Tom Barkhuizen
ST: Sean Maguire
ST: Stevie May
ST: Eoin Doyle

Hopefully we can find permanent moves for Pringle, Doyle and Grimshaw and get loan clubs for the youth players (although Josh Earl looks like he could play a part to me).

Definitely need another CB while Tom Clarke is out, plus another CM in a similar mould to Pearson. Think we'll be in the market for another striker, maybe two depending on departures. Possibly another winger at a push.

Maxwell
Woods, Huntington, Boyle, Cunningham
Pearson, Browne
Barkhuizen, Harrop, Robinson
Hugill
Made definite progress as a squad with the likes of Horgan, Gallagher and Johnson on the bench.

Fucked if I know, he's been training with us since February, they reckon there's still a chance he could sign, but I don't see it happening, he'd have a contract by now if so. Surely it doesn't take 5 months to prove yourself worthy of a contract.

Off the top of my head...

GKs - Frank Fielding, Ivan Lucic*, Max O'Leary*, Marcus Bettinelli(?).

Defenders - Zak Vyner*, Eros Pisano, Bailey Wright, Hordur Magnusson, Jens Hegeler, Aden Flint, Taylor Moore*, Scott Golbourne, Joe Bryan.

Midfielders - Jamie Paterson, Josh Brownhill, Korey Smith, Gary O'Neil, Bobby Reid, Callum O'Dowda, Lee Tomlin, Marlon Pack, George Dowling*, Diego De Girolamo*.

Strikers - Matty Taylor, Gustav Engvall, Milan Djuric, Famara Diedhiou, Shawn McCoulsky*.

* - promising academy players that could feature at any stage.

(?) - potential signing (Bettinelli).

Need a keeper, winger and a midfielder really. Another couple of full backs and a striker would be nice as well.

* Out on Loan
** Out of contract at the end of the season, expect them to be sold unless they agree new deals

The midfield and defence look very strong, with good depth, on paper. It'll be a blow if we lose Dean but we planned ahead by getting Egan, and I trust us to bring in a good replacement if he goes. Jota will be a massive miss if he goes, should get a good fee for him, I just hope he goes to the PL and not another team in this division.

Lasse should sign a new contract, but we massively need more depth up front. Not too concerned about the wings as Judge and Clarke can play there, but we need one or two strikers, and have done since Gray left unfortunately. Shaibu, while a decent prospect, can't be relied upon to play many minutes.

We should have a decent amount of cash to splash on a striker, we have the Hogan fee, and we've sold Gogia and Hofmann for decent fees this summer too.

Other than a new striker, it'll be one in one out at best. Might be that we do our usual thing of waiting 6/12 months to sign a replacement so the prices come down.

Starting XI:

Bentley

Colin - Dean - Barbet - Henry

Woods - Mokotjo
Judge

Jota - New Striker - Canos

Bench: Daniels, Dalsgaard, Bjelland, Yennaris, Sawyers, Macleod, Jozefzoon

What's the story there? Always liked him.

Al-Hilal have bid for him.

He would get a higher wage and longer contract, as well as being much closer to home. So seems a no brainer.

Has been our player of the season the last two years and was the best keeper in the league last season so will be a big miss.

Does give us the opportunity to sign someone younger (Ali is 35) and more importantly for our style, hopefully a keeper who is good on the ball.

Out of that we will probably play a 4-4-2 with this team:
GK: Fielding
RB: Pisano
CB: Flint
CB: Wright
LB: Bryan
RM: Brownhill
CM: Smith
CM: Pack
LM: Paterson
ST: Diedhiou
ST: Djuric/Taylor

Not doing much mate, he scored a few for our reserves last year and was sent out on loan to Cheltenham and scored a couple there, but I don't think he'll be in the first team anytime soon.

Scored a couple in a pre-season friendly today but I think it'll be another year of hanging around for him. Pemberton was the man who brought him into the club and he was sacked last season so I'm not really sure where Diego's future lies in honesty.

What an exciting side that is, fancy Brentford for top 6 this season, assuming they keep hold of their better players.

Definitely need some reinforcements at the back especially at CB and LB.

If the season started tomorrow I think we'd line up something like:

Reed
Watkins --- Pritchard --- Vrancic --- Ja. Murphy
Jerome

Gonna say, last time I heard he wasn't doing much so surprised to see you list him as a "promising academy player that could feature at any time". Shame for the lad as he clearly had a lot of talent before his injury.

No chance. If any of the AMCs leave it will be Naismith. Maddison will get a lot of game time this season I think.

Fair enough. We're potentially in the market for a new AMC / Winger (i.e. Jota replacement), he was one I had my eye on given your depth.

If you're keen on keeping him maybe Pritchard would be allowed to come back? :P

It's still a pretty bloated squad, although we're definitely in need of a couple of wide players & perhaps a DM to cover Thorne.

Decent enough squad but can't see us doing anything of note this season. Could do with more quality up front and in midfield though. We do have a few promising kids coming through that should hopefully get some game time this season.

Cardiff looking strong at the moment.

I wouldn't mind us trying to sign Noone or Pilkington if Neil fancies another winger/ attacking midfielder in the squad.
