We're all fast approaching our first friendlies, and the squads are starting to bulk.

So, what do you have so far?

KEEPERS:

Colin Doyle
Rouven Satillmaier

DEFENDERS:

Tony McMahon (RB)
Nat Knight-Percival (CB)
Matt Killgallon (CB)
Adam Chicksen (LB)
Jacob Hanson (youngster)
Kwame Boateng (youngster)
Tom Windle (youngster)

MIDFIELDERS:

Romain Vincelot (DCM)
Timotheè Dieng (DCM)
Jake Reeves (DCM)
Nicky Law (CM)
Alex Gilliead (RW)
Tyrell Robinson (LW)
Dan Pybus (CM)
Danny Devine (CDM)
Callum Gunner (CM)

STRIKERS:

Charlie Wyke
Alex Jones
Shay McCarten
Dominic Poleon
Paul Taylor
Omari Patrick
Reece Webb-Forster

As with most squads, our business this window hasn't finished, we're still way short in defence - but this squad will be the youngest we've had for many a year.

Doyle

McMahon - ??? - KNP - Chicksen

Vincelot - Reeves

Jones - McCarten - Law

Wyke

You say your squad is the youngest squad you've had in a while....our squad is the youngest in the whole league, and the youngest in the whole country after Leyton Orient's apparently.

We've still got about 5 or so players to come in according to our manager, but at the moment our squad is:

Keepers:
Lee Nicholls
Wieger Sietsma

Defenders:
Ethan Ebanks-Landell
George Williams
Dean Lewington
Joe Walsh
Scott Wootton
Paul Downing
Oran Jackson
Ben Tilney
Callum Brittain

Midfielders:
Ben Reeves
Ouseynou Cissé
Ed Upson
Hugo Logan
Peter Pawlett
Conor McGrandles
Connor Furlong
Giorgio Rasulo

Forwards:
Kieran Agard
Chuks Aneke
Robbie Muirhead
Brandon Thomas-Asante
Sam Nombe

Still need...
RB
CM/playermaker (to replace Reeves)
2 wingers
Striker

Average squad age: 22

First choice starting XI as it stands with everyone fit...

Nicholls
Williams - Wootton - Ebanks-Landell - Lewington
Cissé - Upson
Agard - Aneke - Pawlett
Muirhead

KEEPERS:

Tomas Holy
Stuart Nelson (Transfer list)
Tom Hadler (Youth)

DEFENDERS:

Luke O'Neil (RB)
Max Ehmer (CB)
Gabriel Zakuani (CB)
Alex Lacey (CB)
Bradley Garmston (LB)
Finn O'Mara (CB - Youth)
Connor Ogilvie (CB/LB)

MIDFIELDERS:

Aaron Morris (DCM)
Jake Hessenthaler (CM)
Mark Byrne (CM)
Josh Wright (CM)
Scott Wagstaff (RW)
Lee Martin (LW)
Darren Oldaker (CM)
Elliot List (RW/LW)
Bradley Stevenson (CAM)

STRIKERS:

Tom Eaves
Josh Parker
Conor Wilkinson
Noel Mbo (Youth)
Greg Cundle (Youth)

Our starting 11 as it stands would be something like:
Holy

O'Neil - Zakuani - Lacey - Garmston

Hessenthaler - Morris

Wagstaff - Wright - Martin

Parker
Which is alright. Still expect up to 4 additions before the first game comes though - a wide man, a striker (although Mbo has excellent reviews at youth level), an attacking midfielder and a keeper if Nelson goes. Maybe another centre back as well - depends on whether we're planning on playing a 2 or a 3, plus Aaron Morris can play there anyway. Don't think we're in nearly as bad nick as some make out.

Obviously still need a couple of keepers, probably a full back or two (central defence looks fine). We lack a quality defensive midlfielder after Michael Doyle's departure. Attacking midfielders / wingers look ok. We definitely still need a quality striker or two.

Glad you did that! Our average age must be young too. I think we have 8 under 21's.

As with every other club I expect there'll be a few more additions, probably another attacking midfielder (heard rumors of Harry Forrester and our manager has been talking to Michael Kightly today according to our local reporter), possibly another CB with rumours mentioning former loanee Rob Kiernan. I'd also guess at us trying to bring another striker in to cover until Ranger gets out of prison.

We need a RB for cover and a CB. Josh Emmanuel from Ipswich will come in for RB and we may go for Willis again for CB.

Need another CM. Probably be Liam Trotter who's on trial at the minute.

Two more strikers. Kiefer Moore will be one and hopefully we go out to get a proper goalscorer. Might go back in for Doidge.

Despite being one of our best CB's and regular Tunisian international. Warne wants rid of Belaid and Luton seem favourites to get him on a season loan.

No midfielders will leave. Would need big money for Newell, Brentford and QPR have enquiried.

Jerry Yates should go out on loan if not sold cos he's atrocious and Blackstock will probably be paid up.

I agree.

Yes business for a striker is certainly going to be the main talking point of any Argyle fans' July. At this moment in time, Rickie Lambert is the name being suggested as our #9 with rumours suggesting that he's been seen in Plymouth today.

No keeper yet so that's a priority. If the season started tomorrow we'd look something like:

Code:
           (SIGNING)

MCLAUG. GERRARD CLARKE HUNT
   | FANE |
   | BANKS GREEN |
   V GARDNER V
      HOLLOWAY DAVIES

Good idea for a thread, I was gonna do something like this. May I suggest we update our posts, out at least make new ones, as the season approaches?

Updated, signed Rob Hunt
Updated 2, signed Courtney Duffus

Yes, another keeper for me and a nippy striker. Our three main strikers are very similar, though Jervis tends to play out wide. Moreover, Lambert is very similar to all three.

Strange. Seems to come across quite a nice bloke down here. Maybe he's matured and mellowed in his later years.
It was just to do with when he play us for Rotherham, when he scored he came over to the fans jumping around like a deranged gorilla. I don't care if opposition rub it in when they score, but it was massively ott. Seemed to think he was better than he was as well, though that said he was one of the best of a terrible bunch. Reminds me of an era I'd rather forget.

Fair enough. Hopefully you'll see the deranged gorillia celebration when we play you next season!! lol

Ours, to date:

Goalies
Josh Lillis
Brandon Moore

Defenders
Joe Rafferty (RB)
Harrison McGahey (RCB or RB)
Reece Brown (RCB/RB/DM)
Keith Keane (CB/DM)
Niall Canavan (LCB)
Jim McNulty (LCB/LB)
Matt Kitching (LB/LW)
Joe Bunney (LB/CF)

Midfielders
Jamie Allen
Callum Camps
Ollie Rathbone
Aaron Morley

Wingers/No.10's
Brad Inman
Ian Henderson
Jordan Williams
Joe Thompson
Matt Gillam

Strikers
Stephen Davies
Calvin Andrew (also to be found at LB)

Reuben Noble-Lazarus and Donal McDermott are yet to re-sign but have been offered deals.

With Sir Keith Hill in charge, the starting lineup could be any permutation of the above!

My choice, in 4-2-3-1 formation, would be:
Lillis
**
Rafferty
McGahey
Andrew(!)
Bunney
**
Keane
Camps
**
Williams/Inman
Allen
Henderson

Needed: Another striker for me, we need goals. I know Robinson is working hard to get Ben Reeves, which I would be delighted with but we need a striker. Alternatively, Ajose can start scoring the goals we know he's got in him and Tony Watt can start playing to his potential and be the best player in this league.

Urgently needed: A GK (David Martin is in Ireland with the squad so this should be sorted soon.)
Cover at RB
A LB (Jay Dasilva is expected to re-sign on loan once he's back from international duty)

Most needed: Ricky Holmes to stay and sign the new contract!

As it stands my starting 11 would be:

Phillips

Solly
Pearce
Konsa
Page (Dasilva, preferably)

Holmes
Kashi
Forster-Caskey
Marshall

Magennis
Ajose

Looking to have a bit more depth and competition than last year and if we can get Robbo's targets in and keep Holmes we should be aiming for top 6, minimum.

Surprised to see so much hate being thrown Evans way. He's never come across as that type of player down here, in fact he's been our most 'never-complain, just get on with the job' type player the past two seasons. I'd have been much less surprised if Gary Roberts was the target, or maybe Christian Burgess?

That's a very good squad already Bobbin. Hope we get a few through the door before our opening match ( and Holmes fucks off or is ill or summat)

Yeah, it's hard to be critical of the squad we've got there. With a couple of additions, there is no excuse to not be giving the top 6 a good go or even top 2. Genuinely think that our squad is better than Blackburn's overall.

As for Holmes, until he's put pen to paper I don't believe he'll be here next year which will make the task a lot tougher.

What's actually happening at your place? Other than Sercombe you seem to have had a quiet window. Thought after a good first season last year your owners might splash out a bit?

According to our manager he's got 8 or 9 deals being " negotiated" and we're not to worry. Some of our idiot fans are in full meltdown mode but DC has earned a lot of trust. I'm not concerned although we definitely need a keeper and a striker. Plenty of time.

Yeah, you've got a good manager there who seems to have got it spot on the last three years. Would seem daft to doubt him now.

We all have those fans, see some on twitter tweeting the club daily and moaning about lack of incomings. The squad and manager are in Ireland, not sure what they're expecting to happen this week. I wouldn't mind so much but the day before they travelled it was published that Jay Dasilva was close to joining, Robinson was still talking to Ben Reeves and his agent and that David Martin was travelling with the squad.

Still need 3/4 signings I believe and hoping to shift Neil Danns out before the season starts. However it's more or less completed.

Keepers:

Joe Murphy

Defenders:
Nathan Cameron
Phil Edwards
Craig Jones
Greg Leigh
Joe Skarz
Adam Thompson
Eoghan O'Connell

Midfielders:

Stephen Dawson
Chris Humphrey
Zeli Ismail
Danny Mayor
Jay O'Shea
Callum Reilly
Andrew Tutte
Callum Styles
Neil Danns

Forwards:

James Vaughan
Jermaine Beckford
George Miller
Ryan Lowe (only used in desperate circumstances)

We still need one more keeper and apparently Tom Heardman is joining from Newcastle (Striker) on a season loan - he has very little experience though so can't see him starting too many matches straight away.

Edit: I honestly couldn't say what formation we will use on the first day yet, will have to see what Clarke uses in pre-season.
