Seems like every time we lose at WHL, we go on a mega run. Last year we won there and immediately lost 6-0 to Chelsea. Wenger's made some sort of pact.

I must say I don't get the gloating. Arsenal are the 3rd biggest club in the country by a considerable margin while Spurs have won very little and the only thing going for them is a big fanbase. I do agree that Arsenal should be looking up rather than down.
Being a Spurs fan mustn't be fun though.

For anyone who doesn't get the gloating, it's sports. What do rivalries exist for if you don't have a bit of fun? It's not as if Arsenal fans are out tarring and feathering Spurs fans on the streets. Chelsea went mad when they finally won a league title after all those decades of being jealous of Arsenal. Blue_Bee to this day still can't beat the inferiority complex (examples scattered throughout this thread).

Phil Neville claims the first half at the KC yesterday was the best football he's seen an Arsenal side play since the days of "Vieira and Petit". Not sure what he's on about since the side between 2000-2004 was the best football the league has seen, but I do agree that the first half yesterday was utterly dominant. He reckons we're the best side equipped to challenge Chelsea next season. I agree.

*only bait in his tacklebox is recent success of Chelsea, a club he likely also dislikes, and a decision made by the FA in 1919*

You haven't even bothered to talk about Spurs. What of the question I posed about how soon you could see Spurs bucking this trend? It was an honest question.

It's funny, I don't even hate spurs anymore. Pochettino is a good manager, they play good football and we're above them every year. Could be worse.

Thank for that wonderful insight!

Skipped that question, if i'm honest. I can't see us bucking that trend, not until we get a new stadium and then it'll be a few years after that. But my hope for each season isn't to finish above the Woolwich, it's to finish as high as possible. Sadly, for some Woolwich fans, that seems to be their yardstick now.

I daresay I enjoyed the FA cup much more than St. Totteringham's Day last year, and if we win it again, along with finishing second, I will be much happier with those accomplishments than finishing above Spurs. Still takes nothing away from enjoying finishing above your most bitter rivals for the 20th season on the trot. It creates wonderful trolling opportunities and irks those whom hate us - what's not to like?

It really is just a bit of fun. Seems to annoy neutrals more than Spurs fans for some reason.

What do they call the day when Spurs are mathematically guaranteed to finish above Arsenal?

It's not something we've had to worry about for 20 years.

I wouldn't begrudge them coming second above us this season, they have been very good. Just as long as they don't win it. Jesus.

Willing to make a bet with the right candidate that Spurs will finish behind Arsenal. I'm THAT confident.

Maybe Wenger will get a medal for it, and then the Goons wont want him out (for a day or two)

It can still happen. Arsenal could also still finish outside the top four though.

Nah, we got to go to City and I reckon Spurs will win at least one of their remaining games. Just glad they didn't win the whole lot to be honest, doesn't bear thinking about.

Their GD is much better than ours so realistically they have to not win either game for us to go above.
