Grimsby at home under the lights, Brings back memories of the game in 2013. Usually a busy thread this one so thought I’d start one.

Thought Grimsby had picked up of late? After reading the Mansfield A predictions on your forum though I think pretty much everyone has gone for a Mansfield win.

We were disappointing Saturday but to take a point in the last minute we should be on a high and up for this one.

Put in some decent performances against the likes of Exeter and Colchester, but then lost to two teams that we're arguably on par with in Crewe and Cambridge so we did pick up but we've dipped again.

All you'll probably need to do is score first. We haven't not only taken a single point from losing positions this seasons, I've just been through our results in my head and unless I'm forgetting something we haven't even scored a single goal after going down.

With that said, however, we're not playing all that badly. Like a handful of teams down at the bottom we're somewhat toothless and clueless in and around the opposition box.

Can't see anything but a home win here; we flatter to deceive at times, or are just plain awful. As SoC has just said we are toothless in front of goal, so 0-0 is the best we can hope for, but I doubt we will get that result.

Looking forward to this. Love a match under the lights, especially one with usually a decent atmosphere.

We've started to look better in the past 5 games (apart from Saturday), and scoring goals so hopefully can carry on our decent form.

How many d'ya think Grimsby will bring?

Another draw probably, Christ I hope I’m wrong.

We have played loads recently and we don’t really have the depth to swap it around much due to injuries, and more importantly the formation we play.

I guess this will be the usual hold out until half time, probably miss a good chance whilst it’s 0-0 and then concede one or two in the second half.
Can’t see anything other than a Mansfield win to nil here.

Grimsby at home is a win, simple.

Enough of draws with crap sides down the bottom, put them to bloody bed.

Would imagine a 2-0 win

How utterly depressing that lower/non-league minnows like Mansfield now see us as an easy home win.

Exactly. Given your continuous decline it’s a surprise youre still in the league in the first place, well done for doing so.

Maybe when you get a decent owner who’ll give you a fair crack at something your fortunes may improve.

In fairness you’ve trooped on against the odds.

What like Radford? Yep can't wait to spend a £4M+ budget on 36 1-1 draws.:lol:

Oh you mean those “lower league minnows” who’ve easily FInished higher in the last decade?

Do Grimsby fans still look down at Bournemouth Swansea hull etc?

I know you lot hate fenty, I would if I were you. You’ll be better off when he’s gone and will probably go up much faster than we do. I guess now given money at “smaller” clubs - and those much smaller now, there’s goomg to be an increasing change from the old guard - Salford are a dangerous example of this.

Tomorrow isn’t a reflection of the clubs history, the fans etc, it’s just given where both sides are tomorrow should be a home win. If you win flog away in abuse and delight, I would.

I remember every time hull came to Mansfield they got dicked...

Thread brought to you in conjunction with the AdamStag trigger word of the week: "minnow".

How satisfying to see you whinging like this after trying to get a cheap rise out of the Town fans.

Firstly you doubled our annual budget SoC, secondly it should be easy in reality against a team that come from the place that has the most unhealthy high street in the country but football never works out that way unfortunately.

Actually we come from Cleethorpes and it was Grimsby that was awarded this little accolade. Are you suggesting there are too many pubs and not enough artisan flax seed and kale pop up vegan pancake stores for our refined Mansfield friends in GY?

Would just like to say that despite the above tomfoolery and joking around that I have the utmost respect for Mansfield and AdamStag and that one day I hope that my team (Grimsby Town) will be as good as them at finishing just outside the League 2 playoff spots.

If you can get to the stage of avoiding a relegation scrap in the next few seasons (should you not go down) I’m sure you’ve a chance of midtable sometime around when Brexit is fully resolved.

Keep up your plucky spirit!

It's why we all came here. Have to put on a show for The Viking Magpie otherwise he will have to go and post about his own team and we can't subject him to that.

I'm that confident that you lot won't go up that I'm willing to say £20 to a charity of the other's choice that says we get promoted from L2 before Mansfield do...

Maybe even less. I was thinking about 400-450. Had we have won on Saturday I reckon we'd taken 50-100 more. I'm not even sure I will iFollow now. Did it once and that was the Bury game. I'm already paying the fiver a month for commentary. Plus my laptop is knackered so would have to watch it on my phone. What they need is an app that works on SmartTVs.

Oh we probably won’t go up, we don’t do promotions. This is our division now, 6 years (Newport also have done 6 years but are welsh so don’t count) we’re the new Rochdale!

Hopefully your away following can help “swell” our healthy home average of 4,000 which will dip slightly tomorrow with it being a Tuesday

We are more than capable of beating Mansfield, we're decently competitive in defence and midfield. We CAN nick a goal, we've proven that, but if we do it's very likely to just be the one, probably a miss hit off someone's arse. Drop Hooper and get Hessenthaler back in the side to unlock defences and I think we'll see an improvement in chances created.

If Mansfield get the first I think it's likely to be a comfortable home win purely based on the fact we haven't accrued a single point from behind. I'd like that to change tonight, hopefully we won't even need to. I think we're capable of at least a draw. There's just no chance we score more than one.
