Actually we come from Cleethorpes and it was Grimsby that was awarded this little accolade. Are you suggesting there are too many pubs and not enough artisan flax seed and kale pop up vegan pancake stores for our refined Mansfield friends in GY?

You would not believe the demand for stupidly expensive and noncey stuff in Mansfield nowadays SoC.

All these old pit miners with a 6 figure one off payment and a annual salary pension until they die have more money than sense.

I'm that confident that you lot won't go up that I'm willing to say £20 to a charity of the other's choice that says we get promoted from L2 before Mansfield do...

I'll take you up on that pal.

Not surprising really though with Mansfield being a Tory heartland, along with the very affluent City of Stoke. :ffs:

It’s usually the left side of politics that like the vegan pancake stores. If you ignore the centre you’ll understand why it’s currently Tory, it’s full of reasonably paid white people.

The spiceheads in the centre not bother to vote too, so that helps.

We all know Mansfield are currently better than Grimsby, which is not that difficult to be honest and shouldn't be given how much money Radford has thrown at them the last several years.

But as I said in an earlier thread near the start of the season when Adam tried to take the piss because we didn't win against some equally shite team, no matter how much better than us you are, we will still be playing each other next season....

As for the game, I agree nothing more than a Mansfield win is expecterd, we are not good enough despite picking up lately, until we sign someone who can score goals we will carry on losing games, and maybe nick the odd win every now and again when we somehow score first and hold on for the rest of the game.

I'd be shocked if Mansfield don't win tomorrow, but I also wouldn't be surprised with a 1-0 to us, but if I was a betting man I'd be putting money on the Mansfield win, not the 1-0 Grimsby.

It’s tonight, and the second season back in the FL we had a bottom 4 budget, but I take your point considering the money spent since Evans arrival.

I’m not actually that confident, I don’t think we will lose but I’m never going in to a game thinking we will win currently because we miss so many chances.

Also nobody knows if we will be playing each other next season, we clearly have a shot at the play-offs so stop pretending to be mystic meg.

Swindon fucked me for £480 when they won at County

Poxford did me for £360 last Saturday - and they were 3 up ffs.

No doubt Flitcroft will stick the boot in this evening!

I can’t believe Grimsby fans attacked the server via DDoS just so they can avoid this match thread.

Anyway, they were wank and we would have won about 7-1 if any of our strikers could finish.

Mansfield were by far and away the best side I've now seen this season and I've seen us play all the top 10 minus Tranmere. They looked dangerous on every single attack from the start. Think Jolley got it wrong setting us up to be more positive in a game like that. As we went in at half time 1-0, very fortunately mind you, we should've gone straight back to 451 and brought Welsh on to help soak up a lot of the pressure. We stayed 442 and got rightly punished. The choice to play Pringle and Woolford against a team with bags of pace was frankly moronic. Hendrie coped fairly well but Hall Johnson got torn apart. McKeown and Collins were immense for us and kept the scoreline down massively.

Said after the Cambridge game it was a bad loss as I knew there'd be a meltdown if we lost this game and there was. Again, Mansfield were the best looking team we've played by a mile. We just have to write it off. I think the system we tried would work well against weaker teams as Thomas looked better in a front 2 but trying it against a top team was daft.

I was so furious at the lack of posts in this thread that I’ve boycotted the site for the last few days in protest. :bg:

The only reason we are not top of the league is abysmal finishing, we create more goal scoring opportunities than anybody in this division by a lot.

We missed two 1v1 in the first 9 minutes! Grimsby GK was top notch.

You’ll be fine like, Rose, Pringle, Thomas to name three are decent players at this level.

I genuinely thought Grimsby was going to be another one of those games where we were so much better but can’t finish, going in 1 Down was almost funny.

Impressed we held our nerve to come from behind and deservedly win it, it should have been over by half time.

Decent following from Grimsby - the side looked a bit like Cheltenham, somewhere around 20th.

It’s all about nullifying our threat down the wings, once you do that we start to run out of ideas.

When a player like CJ Hamilton is on form though it’s almost impossible to stop him getting past you, luckily for everyone his end product is very inconsistent.

Hopefully we can push on now and stay in the play-offs, I’m still not fully convinced until we learn to take more chances.

No complains from me; we were clearly second best from start to finish (ifollow viewing from me). Showed glimmers of neat football but were nowhere near Mansfield for huge reams of the game. Just hope we can improve and there are two worse teams than us over the season.

Incompetent modmins did an absolute number on the thread of the season. Probably knew that the traffic generated in here was going to rinse all their bandwidth and crash the site so they drove it off a cliff before we got the chance to. Well done to the Stags though, sounded like you played as well on the pitch as you did at fiddling the fixture list again. No complaints from me, the better side won on the night. We'll batter you at BP though, I reckon.

For a change...

I’ve seen us score twice at BP and we still shipped 7 that day

Can’t see that happening again as this team struggle to score 7 goals in a Month let alone 1 game. ;)

I remember us hammering Mansfield 4-1 at Blundell Park and thinking to myself that they were one of the worst teams I’d ever seen us play in over 20 years watching us.

Then they won about 30 games in a row and won the league. :bg:
