Just watched the game, this was the extent of Orient's attacking play. Seriously.

Normally Semedo, two banks of four, kicks the ball forward to McCallum where Mansfield comfortably intercept. Beyond words.

Can count on one hand how many times Dalby was involved, nevermind touched the ball.

He's a kid, he was on loan at Welling last season and when I saw him he made no impression on the game. But Welling were dogshite last season and it wasn't the easiest of circumstances to excel.

Everyone loved Semedo pre season, and at left back he looked okay, certainly on the ball he has the athleticism and quick feet to get the team forward. But it was bizarre he played at left back, he couldn't attack for shit, but he did provide some level of offensive threat going forward. However his problem is that his decision making is piss poor. He makes the wrong choice maybe 3 out of 4 times which is just poor. He gives away the ball too easily and he often gets lost because of piss poor movement. He badly needs to be dropped and sent on loan to Bromely or somewhere. Problem is that along with Massey we have two wingers.

Additionally we have zero midfielders who can create anything with Kelly out. Upfront McCallum is the only goalscoring threat and he can't actually create anything. Sam Dalby was preferred to SOP, but again, he's another kid, 17 and he just clearly shouldn't be playing senior football yet.

I see some potential in him to be honest, he's not exactly in a good circumstance now either.

Hard not to fear for The Orient. They're in just the sort of mire that has seen clubs plunge in to the hellhole before and they surpassed pre-match assumptions that they might not be particularly good. We've had fewer more comfortable afternoons over the past couple of years.

However, there's so many poor sides down in the relegation pit this season that it'll definitely end up being a battle of 'out worsering' one another. Orient looked low on spirit and even lower on quality; they've become a shining example of what can happen if your club falls in to the hands of a wealthy moron.

As for us, steady progress continues.

Semedo is a talented park player. Looks fantastic until you examine the nuts and bolts of his game and realise that he's a show pony who should be on Hackney Marshes with his mates.
