The standard of referees is the same for everyone. Just get on with it.

Agreed that we all get the same refs, but do you think that makes the level of refs - which is pretty poor - acceptable?

I haven't clicked the link that Kenneth posted but is Still really complaining about the sending off? Benno's foot was head high! I'm positive there was no malice but it's still a red.

No judgement, just observation - we've had 8 months of complaining about feigned injuries and time wasting not being handled adequately by referees. Is it possible they read these forums (post as well??) and have decide to do something about it? :dk:

Do any Luton fans know if we have had Kettle ref a home game for us this year?

I don't recall it if he has.

Just wondering if he is being kept off our games after THAT incident.

Darren Drysdale....

Sent Lambe off for trying to stop a fight.
Played 15 minutes added on time (waiting for them to score, they never were going to)
Booked the Tranmere keeper twice in 5 minutes for two separate offences and didn't give him a red...

You must have good eyesight if you could see all that from Cheltenham. I think there is one or two inaccuracies in your statement.

I was Obviously at the game.....
Its all true. Watch the highlights, he books their keeper twice for two separate things. Lame went into to stop things and gets sent off, even murray said that, and in total there was 15 minutes added on.

Not a video clip, but the photos clearly show Deji Oshilaja landing on his head.
Referee, Lee Collins had a perfectly good view of the incident , standing no more than 5 yards away. Had a look, looked again and then waved play on.
The game was held up for around 12 minutes whilst Oshilaja was treated and then stretchered off.

Complete arse of a ref. wouldn't leave him in charge of putting the rubbish out. Absolute useless fuckstain.

No we haven't - thank goodness, because I don't think he would've been able to start the game; he would've been lynched before then!
In all seriousness, I think the PGMOL appointments committee do keep referees away from teams they have a "history" with.

Two massively important games this weekend for various reasons - the Football League appoint 2 of the worst referees in the country:

Cheltenham Town v Shrewsbury Town - Trevor Kettle
Tranmere Rovers v Plymouth Argyle - Gavin Ward

I know Kettle does, but does Ward have family on the appointments committee?

There are some differences in the Conference, the refs down there cant even keep up with the game because they are generally overweight and lazy.
Up here at least they can keep up - they are just biased and terrible.

While fans complaining about referees often comes across as tedious whinging, I do have to agree that a lot of refs and linesmen in League 2 (I refuse to use the new-fangled term) have been increasing levels of dogsh*t for some time now. While I have some sympathy for the abuse they receive they do bring it on themselves to an extent.

Tisdale has long instructed our players to follow the Cloughie line - i.e no haranguing of referees, no going down deliberately even if touched in the penalty area and so on. We're consistently at or near the top of the Fair Play league - at a recent match (it might have been Luton) we remarkably had no fouls against. Given that you would hope we'd get some benefit of the doubt - do we f*ck.

There have been too many examples to mention of refs taking the easy way out and essentially penalising us for not complaining - especially in away games against bigger sides. I imagine they subconsciously weigh up who is going to give them more grief and act accordingly.

At a recent game we were denied a clear penalty and Tisdale complained after the game that he and the coaching staff had clearly heard the fourth official tell the referee, "their bench isn't complaining", which is an utter travesty if true.

Interestingly Edgar Davids was interviewed after he left Barnet in one of the lads mags and when asked if he was looking to get back into management remarked that while he might consider it he would never manage in the English lower leagues again because the standard of refereeing drove him absolutely nuts and that it wasn't worth the grief. Says it all really.

On Edgar Davids - he would've helped himself and his team if he didn't go flying into players at every opportunity. He was an embarrassment last season. Not saying it was intentional; far from it, but one of his players last season left one of our players with a double leg break - and initially, John Nurse was only booked! He then overturned his original decision and dismissed him.

I was more impressed last season with referees than this season. By a mile actually.
First of all, too many referees in League 2 are trying to second guess diving when really its the total opposite - trying to be clever frankly. On about 2-3 occasions this season, we've had blatant penalties turned down and as a result, our player booked for diving.

The end of the Barnet/Wrexham game last season was amazing:
