GK: Owen Evans

RB: Joe Riley (Joe Foulkes)
CB: Priestley Farquharson-NEW (Rollin Menayese)
CB: Donervon Daniels (c) (Chris Hussey)
LB: Liam Gordon (Taylor Allen)

CDM: Brandon Comley (Oisin McEntee)
CM: Isaac Hutchinson (Jack Earing-injured)
CM: Ryan Stirk (Ronan Maher - 2nd year pro)

RW: ???
ST: Jamille Matt
LW: Tom Knowles (Marvellous Onabirekhanlen - 1st year pro)

Bold = New signing

So we still need a few players. Backup goalie, a new RB so Joe Riley can be used in midfield, another central midfielder, two wingers and two strikers at the very least for me.
Play Hussey at CB and you’d be in deep shit

Are you not playing a back three. That’s where Hussey would fit.

No idea, our manager has managed two games previously, first game he played a three and the second he played a four. I would just rather we played a four so that's what I put.

In a three:

GK: Owen Evans

CB: Donvervon Daniels (Rollin Menayese)
CB: Priestley Farquharson
CB: Chris Hussey

RWB: Joe Riley (Joe Foulkes)
CM: Brandon Comley (Oisin McEntee)
CM: Ryan Stirk (Jack Earing)
LWB: Liam Gordon (Taylor Allen)

CAM: Isaac Hutchinson (Ronan Maher)

ST: Jamille Matt
ST: Tom Knowles (Marvellous Onabirekhanlen)

One or two more incomings and we're done according to Hughes. Don't think we'll be troubling the top 3 unfortunately.

I’m sure if I’ve missed anyone a fellow stag will let me know.

We need a #1 GK which likely will be Christy Pym, at least one more defender maybe two considering Hewitt injury and that’s pretty much it. I’ll try a starting 11 when I have a idea Clough can be unpredictable.

A week since I originally posted, we've seen Charlie Finney sign a new 2 year deal and Lewis Billington sign a 1 year deal. We've also seen the signings of fullback Ryan Cooney and winger Shilow Tracey from Morecambe and Cambridge respectively, both on two year deals.

Dan Agyei has left the club. Tariq Uwakwe is still expected to leave the club whilst youngsters Zak Kempster-Down, Owen Lunt and Max Woodcock are yet to sign their first pro deals. But I'm sure they will sign.

Hoping to be updating this again with our next batch of signings either at the end of this week or early next week.

Why?

I think we’re looking incredibly strong. Much stronger than Grimsby, for example.

A lot of crap in there still for me.

Lineup as it stands I would guess:

Lewis
Platt Stubbs Odusina
Halliday Smallwood Pattison Oduor
Walker
Cook Smith

Halliday had a great season last year but don't think he's got the attributes to be a wing back.

Hopefully after another LB, we get a couple of attackers in as there's only Chapman who is good enough to get into that XI. Bench lacks game changers.

Getting there, good options in the forward line, experienced centre back and another midfield player are priority now. Been linked with Raglan (Cheltenham) and Powell (Crawley) if we get them or similar type of players, we should be looking ok.

Few additions for us, 3 youngsters signing pro deals. Alex Giles (CB), Sam Gale (CB) and Ronald Sithole (ST) onto the squad list for the season.

GK - Glenn Morris, Jake Turner
DF - Max Ehmer, Connor Masterson, Will Wright, Max Clark, Robbie McKenzie, Cheye Alexander, Alex Giles, Sam Gale
MF - Shaun Williams, Dom Jefferies, Jonny Williams, George Lapslie, Tim Dieng, Ethan Coleman, Josh Chambers, Jayden Clarke
ATT - Oli Hawkins, Tom Nichols, Joe Gbode, Lewis Walker, Ronald Sithole

Still need another centre forward, wide player and I'd like to see a versatile left sided player come in. Elsewhere we have good depth, and I think our starting XI stacks up against anyone in the league. Little bit more at the top end and I'll be happy.

It's a strong 11 for me, but you're definitely right with regard to the bench. Would like to see another left back - Ridehalgh isn't good enough nor will he manage 40+ games.

He was offered a contract, presumably on lower terms, but have since signed Max Clark for his position. So I’m going to presume either the contract offer has been withdrawn or he’s off elsewhere anyway.

For the money he was on, I hope so.

Haven't heard much about him for a couple of weeks now, but the fact he even got a contract offer in the first place was surprising.

Not sure we need one, with Ehmer, Masterson, Wright, McKenzie, Hawkins all capable of playing there, plus the youngsters Gale and Giles as emergency backup. Could even play Dieng or Williams there at a push.
