Typical Dee-Dah, still living in Cloud Cuckoo Land!! You enjoy your Dump, and we'll enjoy our 'Shiny New Stadium'.

I love our dump, more history in that stadium than Rotherham United has ever had.

I like the NYS it suits your club.

Anyone who prefers Rotherham's new bowl to Hillsborough should be banned from attending football matches.

And why is that? From what i've seen, it has:

Better Viewing Angles with a more elevated position, more atmospheric, modern, no broken seats, no restricted views, a better pitch, more Pubs in the area, no threat from small concourses to cause crushing. It's a no brainer really, and that's why the votes came in that way!

What makes me laugh with Dee-Dahs, is that they don't seem to understand, that if it was happening in our Town, it sure as Hell was happening 6 miles down the road!! And Last Waltz, whether you have money or not, you still have to have the ability to put out winning teams, which is not an easy feet. Evans is a proven winner, who gets the results in big games. I thought it was quite remarkable in the difference in both our progressions. You were the Champions, the best side in League 2. Yet stagnated. We were the 2nd best side, but built upon the foundations that we had in place. I'm confident we will continue to do that, and with a deciosn expected next week on the Stadium expansion, only 3 years after its erection which is remarkable in itself, we are a club that's seemingly going places.

A 16k Stadium voted the 2nd best in the 2nd Tier of English Football, a Chairman who is a local, Crowds averaging above 10k and a certain rise to that. What a wonderful progressive club RUFC are. A shining beacon to many in English Football. Long may it continue i'm sure we'd all agree! UTM
I shouldn't imagine the lardarse has got easy feet.
the poor bastards probably feel like they are carrying the Isle of Wight around all day!

Not sure if this is the place for Rotherham United Transfer activity, but i can't see any other thread.

Both Ben Pringle & Craig Morgan have rejected new Contract Offers, and will find employment elsewhere! Morgan had issued a plea for the Club to show it's spending power in the wake of the successful survival bid, but that pleas have fallen on stoney ground, and he will nw begin the search for a new opportunity. I'm sure Pringle & Morgan will have plenty of suitors at this level, and below!

Craig Morgan has been involved in a relegation battle at every Championship side he's ever played for, it's no coincidence.

I can't believe that question is even being argued by even a Rotherham fan, the New York Stadium has no history, character or difference to the other 25 soulless bowls in the Football League.

Thing is NYS isn't even a decent bowl stadium. Stadiums like the Ricoh, Riverside, St Mary's, Pride Park, etc are bowls sure, but at least they are of a decent size and offer good away allocations. NYS on the other hand is small, uncomfortable, and rivals other bowl style stadiums such as Doncaster or Chesterfield. You built it to compete with such clubs, not with the big boys. If it was the stadium of the club I followed I certainly wouldn't be proud or boasting about it.

Your reply might have some credence if you had any idea what you are talking about, clearly you don't.
1 It is a decent stadium it has won several awards and this was widely recognised in the aforementioned survey.
2. It was built for a division 2 team, it was never meant to be of similar size to Pride Park etc what would have been the point?
3. Chesterfield's ground has 4 totally separate stand so is not a bowl at all, have you never been?
4. You then answer point 2 yourself.
5. If your previous grounds had been Millmoor and Don Valley.......yes you would be proud of it.....very.

Of course it has no history, how can any new stadium have history? Surely that grows with time?
I assure you it has character to Millers fans and really that's all that matters.
Ah the soulless bowl argument, the one usually put forward be fans who's own stadium has seen better days.
In the case of Hillsborough, much better days.
The South Stand is its shining beacon and still looks the business that's true.
But the North stand has definitely seen better days.
The Kop is a standing area with some seats chucked in and a roof added as an after thought.
The Leppings Lane end is a disgrace, there's no leg room, the sight lines are terrible, it's rusting away and the facilities behind the stand are a joke.
Still, we all love our own grounds I suppose. :2thumb:

To be fair - the Pro-act does have 4 separate stands, and doesn't define as a 'bowl.'

Have you actually been there lately Tom?
Other than the South stand it's a complete rust bucket, your stadium is far superior.

I can't believe you're still arguing this. :fl:

Ask every club in England which ground they'd rather be going to watch a football match on a Saturday afternoon. New York Stadium or Hillsborough.... I think you know the answer. Don't get me wrong your ground is an impressive arena for a club and a town like Rotherham, it's better than Doncaster's bowl but that's not saying a lot.

I am not still arguing it because it was my first comment on it.

What I would say is that clubs don't actually watch football, fans do and I bet many who have visions of Hillsborough as this fantastic palace of a stadium have probably not visited it recently.

Twenty years ago it was I agree, and if we had got the World Cup it would have got yet another long overdue free make over.
But we didn't, it hasn't and it's 3/4 of a rust bucket with poor facilities.

Yes it has a lovely South stand, it has history and a certain feel about the place, but don't make out it''s amazing because compared to most grounds in the Championship it's decaying and falling behind.
Sorry but that's the truth, maybe your new owners will sort it, I certainly hope so because at one time it was certainly in the top 8 grounds in the country

Really? No comment on the Kop or Leppings lane then?
Still half a ground is better than nothing. :2thumb:

Several awards, from what exactly, a couple of newspapers or a webpage ... maybe even a sponsor? Getting a little medal for having the best wheelchair access in Yorkshire doesn't really concern me.

The New York Stadium is one of, it not the smallest stadium in the league, and if we had a survey of some sort on here I'd guess it would be the stadium people would least like to visit in this division. My point is to compare it to a famous stadium like Hillsborough is simply laughable coming from a fan of another new build bowl stadium as are so many others in the country right now. I'd put good money of the majority of football fans would rather go to Hillsborough for a football match than the NYS.

As for Chesterfield I stand corrected, we've never played them at their new stadium, just presumed it was another bowl.

You presume far too much in my opinion.
