Not a great game to showpiece a new style or new players. A lot to work on, need to get more people around Benteke for the head/knock downs. Lallana and Ibe disappointed a bit but worked hard. Clyne barely had a chance to get forward. Hopefully against Bournemouth we can kick on, be more attacking. Possibly play Ings with Benteke. Best I've seen Lovren play in a Red shirt.

Glen Johnson had his best game for a while too ha.

Haven't seen the match as was out today, but saw the winner. First game nerves and all, but three points is all that matters, particularly away at Stoke. Hopefully three points against Bournemouth next, and then its a decent start with a difficult starting fixture list.

A win is all that matters on the first day especially against these guys after what they did to us 3 months ago.

The team looks devoid of ideas, but i'm not expecting anything else with Hendo and Milner in midfield. We're gonna be really, really boring to watch this year but at least i think the defense will improve because of the midfield.

And we really need to find away to get Benteke into the game, but that was the issue all along with his signing. He just doesn't offer enough movement upfront.
