Why on earth United fans want Mourinho is beyond me. He's a short term manager as his record proves. He can't stick at a job. He'd come in, win a few trophies at United then waltz out to take another high profile job.

If United have any sense, they'll sack Van Gaal ASAP, give Giggs the caretaker role and push hard to bring in Guardiola before City/Arsenal/Chelsea get their act together and move in for him.

Totally agree. Think there is a lot of United fans want short term success and trophies which Jose will bring without looking at the bigger picture.

I think United fans probably want Mourinho because he'd come in and win a few trophies. Not sure Guardiola can be presented as a beacon of longevity either.

I'm not sure many United fans do particularly want Mourinho to be honest, he's certainly not at the top of many fans lists. I'd definitely prefer him to Giggs though. He's a manager, for a start.

Guardiola seems nailed on for City, unfortunately.

Sooner United realise that there will never be another Ferguson the better. We were spoilt for years having the best manager of all time. Nowadays managers only stay for a few seasons, we just need one that can win some trophies during that period and take us back to the top.

Mourinho and Guardiola both move on after a few seasons. Doesn't matter as long as they do a better job than Moyes/Van Gaal, which they would. Please no Giggs appointment because he has no managerial experience regardless of his legendary status.

Didn't think Utd were that bad in this match tbh. Stoke scored their 1st from a Depay mistake while the 2nd was one of those you don't have (even if you're De Gea). Fellaini has two sitters (which he missed of course) while I felt Depay was alright going forward causing Johnson some problems. Of course the end product wasn't there but I don't think the performance was as bad as everyone is making out to be. United certainly played as badly as they did today under SAF.
Chelsea at home next. Can see them losing this one as well.

Saw earlier this week that Van Gaal had "cancelled Christmas" for his players in the build up to the Stoke City game.

After today's performance he has seemingly cancelled Christmas for the fans too!!!

Do you ever stop to think that your scathing wit might actually hurt someone one day?

Like me, and today.

The fucked up thing about all this is that they're still 2 points above you guys! How depressing is that?

The whole league is fucked up this year, Liverpool are the only team in the top 12 on a negative goal difference as well.

Knew we'd lose this. Our form is absolutely tragic and I don't think there's anyway back for van Gaal. I hope we go all out for Mourinho, he's a wounded animal and will come back fighting, he'd also fuck Mata off which I'd love, that skinny little thing is a sorry excuse for a man (that goal against Liverpool was lovely though).

Mata is a quality player if used correctly. There's a reason he was Chelseas player of the season 2 years running. Trouble is he didn't fit in with Jose and he doesn't fit LvG, though the latter may be harsh as nobody seems to fit in with his game.

Bit Harsh. He stole the show at home to Wolfsburg in the CL and of course as you say there was THAT goal against Liverpool.

By the way is LVG sacked yet?? :dk:

LVG has completely ruined the confidence of the players and the ethos of the club. He is dour in his interviews as he is in his tactics.

Only a matter of time before he is sacked.

United is facing a hard moment emphasized by CL's elimination. They started the game with a reasonable number of mistakes and that allowed Stoke to excel and lead the score. At the second half there was an improvement on United's size even with good goal chances but Butland, in a very good performance, stopped it all well.
